If you have frost on the inside of your windshield, you might have a leak somewhere
dem new goodyears. Going to remove hubcabs next and either get honda oem rims or just get steelies and have them plastidipped Sad part, Redoing front suspension it's literally rotted away. The ball joints? What ball joints. Anyway headers come on 30th :) going to take pic of it tommorow with new side mirrors and it washed. (Stupid white sticky paper stuff on the tires treads still)
I'm still waiting until I have enough money to buy my Ford Ranger. Such a cute little truck
id get a tacoma instead, much more reliable and the 2.7L 4 banger has as much power as the 3.0 V6 in the ranger.
Rangers are weak as hell with little engines, we've got dozens at work and goddamn, it takes em everything to stay at 110kmh going up hills. Don't like those trucks at all. At least they're the only ones that reads mp3 discs in our fleet :v:
this accord has been bought for 2k and we spent over 10k in new parts on it l0l

Even the Explorer's got the 5.0 engines and later the 4.6. I'm sure they are cost saving but damn.
id get a tacoma instead, much more reliable and the 2.7L 4 banger has as much power as the 3.0 V6 in the ranger.
Well, as it turns out, you cant even get a new Ranger
Thanks for your interest in the Ford Ranger. Unfortunately, the Ranger has been phased out. Although the Ranger is no longer in production, there is still an exciting lineup of Ford vehicles for you to choose from.
I just died a little.
Yes, I took the pics and made a huge one of them
yours is the prettiest! does it bother you that I have so many pictures of your car? oh and do you actually put things in the bag/suitcase on the roof rack?
Well, as it turns out, you cant even get a new Ranger I just died a little.
most of the smaller trucks are dieing out. Nissan is thinking about quitting their frontier. Toyota will be the only one soon. There's still the Canyon/Colorado from GM. Test drove two 2012, the 2.9 is a fucking slow pos. And if you want to go anywhere offroad, get the upgraded suspension pkg, the normal one is made for street use. We already went through a few control arms under 3k miles.

If I had the money, I only buy them. Dont buy an S-10. They're death traps.
Looks like I need to adjust my TV cable. I'll figure it out tomorrow while I'm at work.
Welp. I touched the TV cable and the plastic clip holding it to the throttle linkage just fell apart. I tried super gluing it, but it wouldn't hold. I'm sitting here at home, almost 5:30 now, with my truck sitting in the parking lot at work. :( Gonna have to get it towed home so I can put a new TV cable on it. Apparently these come highly recommended. [editline]26th November 2012[/editline]

Speaking of S10's [editline]26th November 2012[/editline] [thumb]http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m598/Awike1991/2012-11-26_14-13-26_424.jpg[/thumb] Part of the plastic clip that hooks onto the throttle linkage. Why is it plastic? :(
Because that being plastic saved you $1,500 in cost :v:
I actually like the outdated styling of the ranger. I loved the tree gear shifter, it leaves so much room in the middle of the truck for other things. And yes, do not buy a canyon/colorado. Apparently they are pieces of shit from what my friend says and many others. Heck, unless they are new, they look like they are falling apart as well.
Because that being plastic saved you $1,500 in cost :v:
It's literally just a cup on the end of a steel cable.
that was a joke
yours is the prettiest! does it bother you that I have so many pictures of your car? oh and do you actually put things in the bag/suitcase on the roof rack?
Nah it's fine. The suitcase is mostly empty (yet) because I haven't owned it for very long :v: It works perfectly though so I might try to make it waterproof and keep shit in it (shit being for example clothes for sleep-overs at friends houses)
So I'm fucking tired of waiting around for help for getting a first car. After the Thunderbird plan fell through and my dad backed out for paying for it, I got stuck without a car and commuting with my brothers to school. I say fuck that and I'm talking to a few people of letting me purchase a car now and I'd pay them back months later. So far, one best friend's brother has a vibe, stick shift with a bad wheel bearing that he might sell to me and my other best friend's dad works at an auto shop and gets cars left there all the time. So my second friend is gonna talk to his dad about finding me a car and I'd pay him back when I get the money. Hopefully one of my two plans work out and I get a car so I can also get a job. I feel like I'm stuck in an endless cycle. I need a car for a job so I can make money, but I need money to get a car. Vicious cycle I say.

I skated/took the bus/took the train everywhere for nearly 3 years scraping up cash doing odd jobs until I landed my first retail job, I worked there for 7 months before I finally bought my first car. Don't get stuck in this mentality that you need a car to hold a job, because you don't. Careful planning, consistency, and keeping a clear head is all you need to accrue the necessary funds. It kinda sounds to me like you're being a bit of a pansy about it, you shouldn't be "waiting around for help", you should be busting your ass during all your free time working to achieve your objective.

A guy in my class that lives just 20km away is always four hours late by missing one bus

A guy in my class that lives just 20km away is always four hours late by missing one bus
I never said it's what he should do, merely what I had to do to make it work. He owns a playstation, an xbox, and a steam account. If he was that passionate about getting a car, he'd have sold his consoles and pitched that money towards his car fund. I have a low tolerance for people who complain about not being able to get a car when they indulge in luxuries that are generally considered financially expendable.
I need a car for a job so I can make money, but I need money to get a car. Vicious cycle I say.
I know exactly what you mean here. My mom is doing something similar too, she keeps telling me I need a job but I have no way to get to one, and every single chance I give her to look into cars or get my grandmother's car ready to sell is combated with a huge argument. I really am starting to think she's not going to to jack shit about it and is just looking for ways to procrastinate it (which really fucking pisses me off).

The nearest town is fifteen miles away, so I can't really get anywhere without a car. The Playstation and Xbox aren't mine, I share them with the rest of the household, as for the steam account, I share with my brother. I wasn't necessarily just waiting around for help, I was promised help for a first car by three of my family members and all of them bailed on me which is where I'm at now. If I had things to sell, I'd sell them. The only real thing of value I own is my photography camera which I'm already planning to sell towards a car once the semester is over, other than a laptop that I need for school.

My suggestion would be to find someone who travels on a daily basis into town for work, and carpool with them. Spend all your free time in town, filling out applications. Walk from one business to the next and keep applying, eventually you'll find a job. Even if you can't carpool, 15 miles isn't a HORRIBLE trek on a bicycle, and if possible, you could spend the money from your camera to purchase a small scooter to get around on.

There's 3 towns further away in three different directions all 25 miles away roughly.

Any joe can walk around filling out applications, to impress a business you need to express your desire for the job. After filling out an application, return to the business a week or two later and ask to speak to the manager about your application for a follow up to see if there are any open positions and if you've been considered.

Thankfully I found a retail job next to a bus station so I took that for a long while. Now I have a second auto parts job that isn't too far away; if I wanted to, I could walk to work. I don't have a working car but you don't really need one for a job if you're determined enough. You'll do what it takes. Thankfully again, I found a girlfriend and she drives me around town. Now it's all about working to get this car fixed so I can advance my life. I won't be working in auto parts for long and plan to work in a bigger city to make more money. Little steps first
