Re-frame: it's not that you're not any less of a person if you don't pursue university. It's more like you can have more out of life if you did. Why stop now when you know you are capable of heights you may not see today?
It's about patience and virtue; you can take the easy route now and later regret it. I am an example. These past three years I've been stuck in limbo, trying to scrounge up enough money after highschool for a class or two at the local community college. Trying to save for a car. Working my ass off, living in my parent's house. All the while my fellow high school graduates have already earned a degree. My friend already with an engineering degree. Another in business and another in design.
Fuck would I love to be in a university. Look at it in a different perspective. But who are we to you anyway...
I wouldn't mind going to college but I would most likely punch a hippy or w/e.
Also being in the military I would feel a lot older since I didn't start right after high school.
So I went to 5 different specialty shops and ACE hardware trying to find a fucking metric T fitting. No one has it.
I went to the fucking GERMAN parts shop, the guy didn't even get up to attempt to look for one.

Theres a reason I posted that Honda 1300 Coupe 9 in cars that look great to you.

It looks real rough but its the rarer Coupe 9 would be a great first car/project.
My buddy and I are going to attempt to flush my transmission. This will be an adventure since I dont think my transmission has ever been flushed and im at 163k (we're also doing an oil change)
I don't know what kind of trans you got, but if its auto, you shouldn't do a flush, only a pan drop, filter change & fill up what was wasted and if its older, add a can of lucas stop slip to it.

Thats not even rough, a small project at best. Good first car though, yes. I stepped in the quicksand way too far with my Coronet, but whatever :v:

What would be the issue with a flush and the auto
Dislodging all the loose clutch material that's stuck in the corners and crevices, or floating in the fluid which may be the only thing gripping the torque converter. Or it will work much better than before, depends on the condition of the Transmission. Mine's well over 200k and it only slips a bit in between 3/4 gears, which is pretty common.

Look closer mate, its real rough.
If that is anything like previous Mitsubishis, it will fall apart within 10 years and maintenance is going to be really expensive.
I still have no idea why you are after any of those cars...
I am looking on carmax right now, you could get a WRX, Porsche Boxter, RX8, Miata, Golf GTI, Mustang GT, Camaro, Genisis, Civic SI, Sentra Spec V, 350Z.
But instead you want to get a economy car with some sporty body panels on it for the same price.
:v:
Because I'm trying to keep my insurance down to a reasonable rate, and I wan't decent fuel economy.
I'm looking at sporty economy cars and you're posting muscle and road rally cars.
Look closer mate, its real rough.
Looks like some rust on the quarter panels and fenders and a beat to shit front bumper. Will most likely need engine work, not terribly hard, unless they don't make reproduction parts for that car or you dont have the means to do body work, then it'd be a bitch. Nice car thought IMO, I'd buy it if I knew anything about Hondas.

The Sentra and Civic SI are hardly what you would call muscle cars. Both cars are go-fast versions of their econoboxes.

Of the 35,804 made only 7,881 were coupe 9s only 1053 cars made it to Australia. For every 5 coupe 7's imported there was a Coupe 9. The difference between the two, Coupe 9 had 4 carbs compared to 1 made 115 hp to 100 hp of the 7. There were also air cooled, I also called the bloke selling the car he only reckons its a parts car.

There are 2010s for ~19k where I live

Its comepletely restorable, but since it is that rare in Australia I'm assuming you would have to do a bunch of fabrication or use loads of bondo to get it nice. Parts car would probably be a good role for it. Go check it out and research about where you can get parts, see if you can salvage it.
This looks like so much fun.

German cars are expensive to maintain. I can get a new Focus for another $1000 and have a warranty.
eliminating wheelhop
new subframe bushing: 250$
new traction arm: 275$
new control arms bushing at the rear: 150$
new engine mounts: 150$
total: 825$ if I don't need control arms. god damnit.

If you flush a auto trans with high mileage that's never been flushed a few time over its lifespan, you will surely kill it, if not, it may slip/bang/etc. All the filth often ends up holding the trans together.
Drop the pan, change the filter, re-install the pan, top with new atf fluid, maybe adding a bottle of lucas stop slip to it, and it'll be better.

Very interesting... My Audi never had a tranny flush and it got one at 170k miles.. Lets just say it is still going just as good before the flush.
Still phantom gears, surging in reverse, and hard shifting into 5th!

Well now.
Damn, tacomas are fun to drive. I'm gonna get one as my next car, preferably pre-2000s and definitely going to be a manual
Just a shame that 90% of tacomas have shitloads of miles on them

Rough?
You don't even know what rough is. I've seen cars ten times as dirty and rusty being driven around.
