honestly, some of the characters for battleborn would've been better off used in borderlands 3.
i remember the writing was wonk but i'm not sure i remember forced in feminism in Borderlands 2 tbh
That's only one example I can remember at the top of my head. Honestly, its quite contradictory of a message when you have a character like Mad Moxxi hopping around in the same game doing jack nothing.
It's almost like Blizzard, Gearbox, and Bethesda all went to the same company to get ideas. And everyone got pitched the same thing. I can't for the life of me remember what these types of companies are that sell data and ideas.

I think this is the same thing what happened with MOBA's, someone started it and companies quickly realized it is a good idea and started to cramp out their own creation in hoping that their product will stand out more but its clear that Overwatch has won over the hearts of most people when it comes to area shooters.
So you have no arguments for him?
Todd is a clear business man. If you look at the way he speaks about his products you can see a clear understanding of what is true, and a stretching of those ideas. It's something you just get an eye for. In no way am I saying he's a bad person but honestly; describing him as someone who "legitimately over estimates what the developers have done" and "sincerely believes the game can do these things" is just wishful thinking. He's a sly guy; and it's clear he gets you to drink the kool-aid quite quickly.
Now that being said, believe it or not I actually like Bethesda Softworks as a company and Todd Howard as a person.

Alright I'll give you that one :v:
I didn't even remember him being sexist I just thought he was an asshole so 'hoho lets just blow up a dick's house for funsies', but in the context of Burch, that's a pretty fucking sinister fantasy he's got going there.
It has an anime style to it
No, it doesn't.
I don't understand how a company responsible for Aliens Colonial Marines, Duke Nukem Forever, and now battleborn, has such a rabid fanbase of defenders
is Borderlands really so great to people they will look past all that
Gameplay is fun, for a couple of times.
After that, it just gets so fucking repetitive that you don't want to play it again.
The plot is ok for the first time ONLY, but Tina will make you want to stick forks in your ears.
I really like Borderlands' gameplay, a Diablo first person shooter, there's nothing really like it. It sucks that the people behind it are braindead though.
At least their intro cartoon is cool.

Even if that one character actually does a Naruto sprint pose there.

In the context of borderlands 2 it fit. Someone got tortured as a means to tell the time and people got blown up for even less reason prior to that. It was one of the few times the game was actually funny.
When did Gearbox get so bad, and why? What happened to the good ol' days of Opposing Force, Brothers in Arms, and Borderlands 1?
I don't know when they got bad, but Borderlands 2 was just so full of awful game design choices that could have been so easily fixed, but Gearbox seems to be stuck in the past where patches were for bug fixes and nothing else.

Battle stillborn does this too.

The sad thing is that line sounds like something Claptrap would totally say.

That line sounds like something 90% of characters in BL2 and BL TPS would totally say.
The hell does that even supposed to mean?
Randy Pitchford will lure you into his hotel room, lock the door, and furiously masturbate in front of you.

Would have said "Badass" at least 4 more times for it to be accurate
Battleborn's barely sold any copies during the steam summer sale. There's just no demand for this game.

"Gee wiz, i want a area styled shooter which is populated, has a following, is something my friends play and is praised by critics. Pay 30$ for a game that was basically dead on release and might not gain traction again or spent 30$ more for a already successful online game"

I get it, but fucking damn son. Even if the game went free to play I bet it'd have trouble gathering a player base.

It's $70 over here :((

With the upcoming addition of Micro-transactions, I would not be surprised if they plan that just to get some player-base to form.
By that point the battle would be for gameplay quality and Multiplayer quality.
Cuz sure as shit the story doesn't have alot of quality I can tell you that from watching story segments on YouTube.
It would still lose due to Microtransactions. Overwatch just sells you boxes filled with cosmetics. I think I heard that Battleborn is going to sell legit items?
Blizzard simply outclass Gearbox in everyway. They never stood a chance tbh.
Thank fucking god Anthony Burch fucked off from Gearbox to work on other crap. I feel bad for anyone that enjoys Video Game Highschool.
Also the original writer for Borderlands 1 is coming back for Borderlands 3, so that's another positive. Of, like, three.
Gonna play devil's advocate here: Battleborn was announced before Overwatch, as were most of the characters in the side-by-side comparison segment of the video. If anything, that makes me think Blizzard copied Gearbox.
Was about to ask this. That's pretty fucked up on overwatch's part.
Was about to ask this. That's pretty fucked up on overwatch's part.
As someone stated previously, the MMO Titan had been in development for almost a decade until it was cancelled and the scraps were turned into Overwatch. There's concept art of an Overwatch character from 1998. It's up in the air how much of Titan made it into Overwatch, but just because of that it's hard to say Blizzard copied them.
And out of Gearbox V.S. Blizzard, which company has a track record that isn't stinkier than a rotten ass? I don't think Blizzard is so unprofessional that they would steal from other developers, let alone not have the talent to create their own stuff.
oh man that video, that whole ordeal was just saaaaad
Battleborn?
more like BatteBORE.... zzzzzzzz
amirite
*crickets*
i'll see myself out

The only two good things i see in this game.
1. This intro
2. The music, I know you rapped in it del.
I've played about 3 hours in the open beta and honestly it was probably one of the most frustrating 3 hours i've ever had while gaming.
