• My rant on arrogance and idiocy of Computing Teachers

That isn't half as bad as what I've had. I had a freakin nun from peru teach me American History and then Geography. She could barely speak english and had to miss classes to get her citizenship thing done. She put spanish letters and shit on tests and quizzes too. And I take latin so I was fucking clueless. So fucking annoying. She doesn't even know what she's talking about.
In my Computer Networking our class my teacher knows a shitload more than us. He even hacked my laptop for me once when I forgot my password. We setup game servers to "test" our network. My class sucks though, don't even know what Starcraft is. Last years class was awesome though.
I had a teacher that said that computers were "Now reaching the gigahertz range" T/F on a test, only a few years ago. I answered false. Well, guess what happens next.... I was 'wrong'. I argued, but she insisted that they were true. Same test had questions like "Common hard drive sizes are 40 gigabytes" T/F. I said false, because at the time, you'd see 80 or so. 'WRONG'! She probably knew she was wrong, as she was using an old test, but didn't feel like changing the score D:
hot
But what if it was a guy?
I had a pretty nice guy for my Computer Science classes on college. He knew how to motivate people, and he let us compete for a national Game Maker challenge (which was also our last project, and our two teams won two of the three prizes!). My teacher wasn't THAT knowledgeable of computers, but he's was always open for suggestions. Problem with Computer Science is that anyone with some decent knowledge of the field has a better job.
I hate people like this. They think that because they are in charge means they are always right. Even if it is obvious he/she is wrong. :argh:

Most of my teachers in a computer subject have always been p neato especially my current one, who had a LAN game of TFC with the class
ITT: children see adults make a mistake and think they are ready to leave school and get a better job than their teacher. Go to the office and announce you will leave school at the next available opportunity. Enjoy the real world.
ITT: rich kid that went to private school and never experienced horrible teachers. [editline]01:32AM[/editline] You are obviously going to respond with "o yah der wuz dis wun guy who maed me doo mah homewerk he wuz so mean :saddowns:"
in my IT class we just played halo 1 and call of duty 1 lan [editline]12:48PM[/editline] and so did the teacher
In my friend's High school he has this computer class and the teacher lets you play video games after you finish your work.
My current technology (I have two classes, one called Technology and one Business Computers) is a old fat bitch sometimes. I like his class and he can tell you a lot of good storys, but if you dare play a game he will find out the URL and ban it forever. My Business Computers class teaches us MS Word and such, but the teacher is epic and awesome and lets us play flash games when we finish the (piss easy) work. He even plays flash games during class. :buddy:
We once got our computer science teacher into a class-wide game of UT near the end of the year. He beat more than half the class. :v:
My keyboarding teacher in 7th grade was amazing She may have been old and fat but her fingers were super fast on the keyboard (120 wpm) and at that time, I could only do about 80/90, now I'm probably around the 120 range, I'm a lot more accurate with my key pressing now. Anyway, she downloaded COD 1 for us to play 24/7 and quake 3. I pretty much breezed through the typing part in the first 2 weeks and proceeded to play games and sleep in that class.
Teachers are usually "I'm the teacher so ofcourse I'm right". Even if they haven't checked the facts up. In media class I was forbidden to use the invert hotkey command for the selection tool in photoshop because it wasn't what the teacher tought us >_>
My math teacher was clicking around on her computer and I see a thing that says "Your computer might be infected! Click Okay to scan!" So my friend and I naturally know it's a virus and tell her not to click the button. She goes "No, it's alright." and clicks the button. Me and my friend are all going something like :byodood: with our faces at that point.
It was so bad at my old school that I ended up teaching HER.
I think my school is the only one without retarded teachers. We just have hippy assholes.
Wow I bet everyone in your class hates you. Always correcting the computer teacher.
Is there even millions of colors? Also, OP's teachers is severely :downs:.
Put up with it until you go to college.
Wow I bet everyone in your class hates you. Always correcting the computer teacher.
Nope. In fact, we all correct her, even the not-so-bright children.
I didn't like my schools IT guy so I put a portable version of Halo CE on the computers and on the servers. In science we played Halo for half a year before my teacher got fired for always playing with us. Then last year in computers me and a mate would just play Pokemon and stuff via USB. Now we have the IT guy and I do one period of work then 3 periods of no work per week. School's so easy.
My CS1 teacher is disgruntled, super conservative, and lost both his penises in 'Nam
Put up with it until you go to college.
Even then, you're not always free. I had an honors chem teacher (dean of the department) that obviously hated teaching, but had to put up with it in order to do his research. He would pointedly ignore our raised hands (one girl resorted to yelling out her questions to get his attention and even then, he would often ignore her) and I'm pretty sure he started throwing in totally wrong statements, just to screw with us. One of his bests was "Helium has no protons."
your teacher seems dumb i liked the second one the first one just did typeing
I took PC Hardware and Maintenance for the hell of it even though I know how everything works, and I seriously wonder how my teacher got the job. I mean his assistant which I would consider a tech guru is 90 times more qualified for the job, yet since he doesn't have his teaching license he's confined to just helping around. Hell the assistant makes the labs and various other work whereas the actual teacher simply grades things and uses powerpoints that were already made by CompTIA.
It's quite possible to store true colour images in a GIF file, but it's useless as heck and nobody does it. But yes, she got them confused, a whole bunch of these teachers shouldn't actually be teachers if they're unwilling to learn from their mistakes.
It's shitty budget cuts. They're putting teacher's who they don't want to let go there and the teacher's who know computers' well in fucking english classes.
