I natuarlly rage at every teacher. E.g.My science teacher (who is a bitch) told us to make a slideshow on Animal creulty and our thoughts (you can see what is coming). When we presented it... A cat smiling <3 Animal testing! and then 7 pages of Lolcats. Needless to say there was a lot of rage and a call home :D.
That sounds pretty immature
if you're so fucking good why don't you teach the lesson then
from the way it sounds he probably would if he had the chance
my last technology class should have been named "work on projects from language arts and history class using a computer" class.
Sort of related, but sort of offtopic.. My Englist teacher in the beginning of this year (he was substituting for the first 3 months, our real teacher was pregnant) and I used to talk about Left 4 Dead 2 and Starcraft II and other amazing manly things for most of the class period every day :v:
My teacher claims that the school's computers are much much better than mine.
Their specs:
Some sort of P4 1.8ghz
320gb hdd
512mb ram
Some unknown integrated gpu that nobody has heard of.
So yeah, better than my Windows 95 gathering dust.
If he thinks from an internet perspective? I think not...
Speedtest gave me 22.00Down, 5.0 up
Speedtest gave them 5.0 down and like .05 up (this was after-hours, no traffic.)
Today since it was the last day before March break, my Introduction to Computer Science teacher gave us a free day to do whatever we want, we all played a LAN game of Assault Cube, the teacher joined in from the beginning. Fuck yeah! It really depends on the teacher you get and what the course actually contains. If it's a course about Microsoft Office 98, you'll get idiots. If you're in a class like mine where you learn ActionScript 3.0 and some computer hardware, you'll tend to get someone a little more qualified.
God I hated my Business Management teacher. We did Office 98, which I don't get why. I have 07 on my laptop and it's an entirely different thing. Plus, just cause she was a teacher, she knew everything. I'd bet twenty bucks the arrogant bitch couldn't identify one piece of the internals of a computer.
Your teachers are really trolling you, they're just really good trolls in real life so you don't know. I bet there is some forum for teachers, and every day after school they go there and talk about how they trolled some kids and then laugh there asses off.
My chemistry teacher know more about Microsoft office than our CT.
He also did video to how to properly use excel.
In fact, my chemistry teacher is the best teacher I ever had.
I like to point out their error and make it so obvious that they can't reply.
I can't say I've ever had any problems with my teachers at my school. Though the computers at my school are surprisingly well locked down. We have these restrictions:
Internet Explorer 6
Can't access most sites (Bing is blocked for 'streaming media' and I have had sites blocked for being 'tasteless'.
Can't run .exe files
Can't save to the desktop
Can't change background on desktop
No C: drive
Other stuff like that. It's pretty ridiculous and I can't find a way to use the Portable Firefox and Tor technique.
I'm in advanced web design at my school and all I do is play CS 1.6 with my classmates on LAN. My teacher doesn't care as long as we get our work done and alt tab when an administrator walks in.
Our IT teacher last year was useless and he knew it.
He was actively searching for another job in-lesson sometimes.
Fun Fact:For some wiered reason we have a 1 houre(more like 55 min. break)every day.But here comes the funny thing:We are allowed to use computers in our break for fun,bu youtube, myvideo, clipfich, armorgames, facepunch, youporn and various other sides are locked. The only thing we can do is read our schools page.(http://www.st-xaver.de for everyone who is intrested)
- Yes I know this is school related, but its also about arrogance and idiots -
Some background on my teacher: Uses an Acer, thinks she is above the law and can rewrite history like she's in fucking 1984, thinks her 4GB of RAM is boosting her e-peen.
If I was in power, she wouldn't be allowed within 20ft of a computer.
I can usually put up with that crap that my computing teacher (:downs:) spews but today, she tipped me over the edge.
She was teaching us about desktop publishing and image file formats. She makes a list of formats (JPG, GIF, TIFF) (what an extensive list eh? wheres my PNG!) and starts licking GIF's ass, stating it supports and meanwhile JPG (no variants mentioned) only supports 256 colors, and is the most popular file format on the web because it loads quickly (lol).
No.
I correct her by raising my hand and stating she has mixed the formats up, and I say GIF only supports 256 colors and JPG supports true color. :banjo: She shoots me down mid air saying I say 'No, I use graphics all the time and believe me, GIF only supports 256 colors. (I fucking design for money)
She insists I'm wrong.
Still, not as bad as my business teacher who couldn't handle 1+1
This keeps happening throughout my school. Teachers get their mistakes pointed out and the pupil gets acted on as if it is their fault. I'm sick and fucking tired of it.
Maybe it's just me? :frown:

A thread in GD bitching about teachers that is actually true for once. gg
My computing teacher is pretty cool, he barely makes mistakes (except when he's trying to give us examples relating to games and says their names wrong :v:) and if he does, he doesn't refuse to admit it when he's corrected.
I've never met a teacher who would allow it as a source for the fact that it can be edited by anyone
My physics teacher practically prints wikipedia articles and gives them to us as notes.
I fucking hate how everyone at my school says
WIKIPEDIA IS BAD, NEVER USE IT. SOME ARTLICLES MIGHT BE RIGHT BUT 7 OUT OF 10 AREN'T. THERE ARE PEOPLE EDITING IT ALL THE TIME AND NO ONE CHECKS TO MAKE SURE THE STUFF IS FACTUAL. NEVER USE WIKIPEDIA. EVER.
Makes me rage.
Using wikipedia to correct people saying that the US has 52 states is wrong because of this very reason.
I remember when I was form to at school and we had to go to the local high schools for tech. One of our tech classes was computers and all we really did was copy and paste shit and drew a picture in ms paint. It was fucking bulshit and their computer lab didn't even have coloured ink in the printers so when we print our budget drawings from ms paint the were in black and white =/
Wana hear something funny?I choose a IT course,i had the choce between science, musci, france, and it,so i choose it,cause i thaught we would be writing scripst and stuff.WRONG.all we do is writing in word and making diagramms with ecxel.Weee.5 people fell asleep in class, our teacher is boring as fuck, and we a doing thinks that you would teach an 80 year old who never used a computer before.
I don't think you need an IT course, but a spelling course.
The fact that the courses are just messing about with MS office and paint is to do with the people who are in charge of the courses, not the teachers themselves, right?
