What the fuck are you talking about?
You are all saying statistically no one on FP should have it but statistically someone in my class should have died last year. No one died. Statistics are not absolute.
Only 400 diagnosed cases of people having it in England doesn't necessarily mean that only 400 people have it in England.
Yeah, let's completely throw away all statistical figures, because those don't matter! Who cares that it's the most accurate and approximate number we have to go with- let's just assume everyone in England gets them. Let's also assume dragons exist, because we don't necessarily know that they don't. Right?
Thats why I said according to the video. And I realise that it doesn't mean that only 400 people have it. How likely do you think it is someone will have a headache in England which is so painful they want to kill themselves that they won't go to the hospital? We can't know the true percentage but I'm going off the best we got.
You would be surprised how resilient people are. Mother in law fell and hurt her leg but was "not in enough pain to cause concern" and turns out she snapped her leg in half.

That's a big amount of chance for someone who hates statistics. Somewhere in the league of a few thousand to one. Somewhere in the league of a few thousand to one.
Odds of fatally slipping in bath or shower: 2,232 to 1 Odds of being struck by lightning: 576,000 to 1 Odds of winning top prize in Loto 6/49 1 in 13,983,816 Odds of being murdered: 18,000 to 1 Odds of dating a supermodel: 88,000 to 1 and these still happen fairly often.
You would be surprised how resilient people are. Mother in law fell and hurt her leg but was "not in enough pain to cause concern" and turns out she snapped her leg in half.
Was the pain so bad that she was considering tearing her eyes out or hanging herself? Was the pain recurring for years, occuring often daily multiple times? Didn't think so. She said she wasn't in enough pain to go to the hospital, this would have been the result of adreniline, while in a Cluster headache the pain is not physical but rather a nerve problem which will be felt whether there is adreniline or not. These cluster headaches; you will feel them very, very strongly if you have them.
It's called medical shock
And how likely is that to last for long periods of time?
The way I see it; OP is most credible since he actually made the thread, and I doubt he would've made it just so he could lie about having a disorder such as this. Most of the people replying to the thread are just people jumping on the bandwagon and hypochondriacs. I'm not denying that there is a chance that some of the users replying might suffer from this, I just find it hard to believe. It's too big of a coincidence.

They happen at their defined chances. For every 1 moment someone is being struck by lightning, there are 580,000 moments they aren't. You really are made of straw. You really have no grasp on how statistics work, do you? Each of those values is a value for an individual person at the time that the event potentially happens. Saying that they happen "Fairly often" means nothing, because it happens to completely different people at completely different times.
And how likely is that to last for long periods of time?
It depends on when it is treated
Yes... They happen at their defined chances. For every 1 moment someone is being struck by lightning, there are 580,000 moments they aren't. You really are made of straw. [editline]11:58AM[/editline] They don't understand what the condition entails
But they can happen right after another. Its like rolling a die and getting a 1 twice in a row. You have a low chance of getting it and according to you you will roll every other number before getting the one again.

Looking at his past posts, it's probably the former.
It depends on when it is treated
3 weeks later when the swelling got so bad she couldnt walk anymore.
But they can happen right after another. Its like rolling a die and getting a 1 twice in a row. You have a low chance of getting it and according to you you will roll every other number before getting the one again.
No, according to him (and everyone else who knows what they are talking about,) there is a 1 out of 6 chance of rolling a one on a six-sided die.
He either has zero grasp for elementary math or is simply trolling. Looking at his past posts, it's probably the former.
It appears as if none of us agree with each other. I suggest we all stop now and let this thread continue without people complaining about statistics.
3 weeks later when the swelling got so bad she couldnt walk anymore.
As I said, Cluster headaches are directly linked with a nerve system running through your head. Breaking your leg is not directly related to nerves, a much stronger reaction to pain occurs when a large nerve is directly malfunctioning or damaged which is the case in Cluster headaches but is not necessarily the case in a broken leg.
It appears as if none of us agree with each other. I suggest we all stop now and let this thread continue without people complaining about statistics.
"I am backpedalling enormously as I realize I'm wrong on every front"

You have a low chance of getting it and according to you you will roll every other number before getting the one again.
There's a 1 in 6 chance of rolling a 1 on a die with 1 roll. To say that there's a 1 in 6 chance of rolling a 1 twice is wrong. It's a 1 in 36 chance of rolling a 1 twice in a row. You multiply the odds when they rely on each other.
"I am backpedalling enormously as I realize I'm wrong on every front"
And there you go trying to pour gas on the fire. Stop.
It appears as if none of us agree with each other. I suggest we all stop now and let this thread continue without people complaining about statistics.
I agree with Destitide. Because he's right. Unlike you.
As I said, Cluster headaches are directly linked with a nerve system running through your head. There is no physical damage occurring inside the head with cluster headaches, it's simply that a group of nerves malfunction and send pain signals to the brain when there isn't any pain-inducing activity occurring.
You are either a moron who honestly thought I was referring to the validity of whether or not you felt like crap after having a migraine and not the fact that you compared a migraine to a cluster headache, or you are a troll.
I've never had a cluster headache so I wouldn't know the difference. But then again I honestly care about the difference.
There's a 1 in 6 chance of rolling a 1 on a die with 1 roll. To say that there's a 1 in 6 chance of rolling a 1 twice is wrong. To get the probability of two consecutive rolls of one, you would square one sixth. When did I say otherwise? How is that relevant?
Uhuh. To get the probability of two consecutive rolls of one, you would square one sixth. When did I say otherwise? How is that relevant?
I brought it up. Stop with the math arguments. Just stop.
Uhuh. To get the probability of two consecutive rolls of one, you would square one sixth. When did I say otherwise? How is that relevant?
I was replying to Nohj, not you.
And there you go trying to pour gas on the fire. Stop.
What fire? This has been a logical debate in which you've clearly had no idea of what you were talking about in all regards.
all this math arguing is giving me a headache
What fire? If you keep this up the whole fucking rest of the thread will just be retarded bickering. Every one of your posts is just you insulting someone trying to start a war. [editline]12:10PM[/editline]
all this math arguing is giving me a headache
Tasteless joke. [editline]12:10PM[/editline] but I smiled.
