That thing is pretty damn close to the east coast and that means MD, where I am. I'm scared shitless too. However my teachers all say it won't make it to us. I'm in one of the cities of Maryland that's very far inland.

Thing is, Florida is so used to them that almost all are homes are now built to a strict Hurricane standard. The same can't be said about northern coastal homes. It takes a Cat 4-5 to cause any significant property damage in my South Miami area. We didn't have such strict housing 20 years ago when Hurricane Andrew hit a cat 5, needless to say the damage was devastating.

Same here in Texas and along the gulf coast. If there is a home in Galveston it can take a hurricane because Ike cleared out all the weak ones.
