Are you seriously trying to tell me that Red Dead Revolver isn't part of the Red Dead series?
He's saying Red Dead Redemption may as well be considered a different series
I wanna joke 'Consoles' but I know that isn't the case.
I kinda thought that but the first few GTA V trailers didn't look like that and they were on last gen. I hope it's just because it's still a WIP.
I think I heard Adam Baldwin's voice?
Doubt it. They've stopped using celebrity voices with GTA 5. Considering they like their mocap stuff it'd be too expensive
The trailer is okay, but I went back and watched the RDR1 trailers and god, those didn't really do any justice for how good RDR turned out. Big visual quality jump is a plus at least
To be fair, GTA III wrapped up its own story but there were 4 good prequels featuring its characters.
Not really. Donald Love had a speechless cameo (literally just sitting there), Salvatore had an extremely minor role in San Andreas (3 missions, I think?) + Maria; Claude doesn't count (speechless everywhere, basically just a jokey throwback in San Andreas); Toni Cipriani is a completely different character in LCS. I guess you could say Catalina and Phil Cassidy? But Phil would be a stretch. But I do agree with your point though, expanding a wrapped up story doesn't always mean it's going to be bad [editline]28th September 2017[/editline]
Honestly, the story for GTA V was kind of whatever. I don't think a single player DLC could've made it better. I've played through it twice, and I can still only remember like three things from it.
It's a game, you know, a DLC could have added actual gameplay stuff, like jetpacks or horses (that were planned in the game); or exciting missions with setpieces in places the original missed (the prison, the army base). They kind of did it with GTAO, but GTAO is a fucking disaster

Well, to be honest SMG2 wasn't a prequel. Calling a prequel a name usually associated with a sequel is, IMO, a bit of a dumb idea.
I think this looks great. There's some blurry textures here and there but I will just blame that on consoles. As long as the gameplay is good and the story pulls me in a bit I'm happy. Lighting and environments look beautiful.

I am really excited for the game but to be honest the trailer was visually lackluster. It didn't look all that visually impressive, just kinda like the last one with more foliage. And this is coming from someone who is still impressed by GTA 5 on PC. Time will tell though.
The reveal trailer looked miles better than this so I'm willing to hold my judgement until I see what it looks like in actual gameplay also lol fall 2017

Even Salvatore's little role was significant because it showed what made him a paranoid old crab. It could be done for RDR, eg. Javier only appeared for a grand total of one mission.
I just hope the multiplayer is good, spent so many hours in the first in posses just fucking shit up.
I hope they use euphoria to its full abilities again. GTA V is markedly shittier and bland compared to previous hd era Rockstar games because they toned it down so hard.
I hope they use euphoria to its full abilities again. GTA V is markedly shittier and bland compared to previous hd era Rockstar games because they toned it down so hard.
it was a bit overly silly in previous games imo
RDR is meant for KB/M so much that not porting it is almost criminal.
Yeah man I love controlling a horse like it's a tank.
The quote about the mourning mother was ice cold and kinda badass.
I hope they use euphoria to its full abilities again. It was so satisfying shooting someone in the chest, them clutching at it while stumbling backwards then falling over like 10 feet away. Also remember the 3D flesh wounds when you shot someone with a powerful gun, including exit wound? [t]https://img.gta5-mods.com/q95/images/gorev/37618b-Screenshot_2.png[/t] Please don't fuck this up Rockstar.
it was a bit overly silly in previous games imo
i respectfully disagree gta IV clearly has something there that V isn't thinking about
I hope they use euphoria to its full abilities again. I don't think it would be a problem now, considering how much more powerful the current gen is.
There's a mod that makes GTAV's euphoria act more like the GTA IV parameters, it isn't perfect but it changes it a ton
I still stand by my opinion that RDR has some of the most brutal, satisfying gunfights in the medium. Not only that, but it made you feel supremely badass which not many games can really do.
PC version and a good story or bust
I still stand by my opinion that RDR has some of the most brutal, satisfying gunfights in the medium. With the above mentioned exit wounds, pretty satisfying sound design, and somewhat more intelligent AI than GTA IV. I suppose it helps that the game was playing itself 100% straight compared to a GTA game, they had less reason to try and dampen just how awful a fight like those can be as it wouldn't have fit the world as much.
