It's not true for birds either. It's just a myth. Birds don't have much in the way of a sense of smell, so they won't mind most of the time.
...I was saying that it's true that birds won't abandon their young because you pick them up. I have no idea how you thought that I was saying otherwise.
Brando. Call him Brando. And while it's recommended you don't touch baby wild rabbits, you can with no severe consequences. The main thing is more of them relying on your for nurture and well being, and it can dull their senses and instincts or something. The mother likely won't abandon them if they smell like human. Infact, you can even move a whole nest, baby rabbits included, often with no negative side effects as far as the mother goes.

It's just confusing all together but I understood what you meant either way. And

However, some mammals might. It really depends on the mother. Some are better than others.

Little Mr.snuffalopagus either this, or Mike.
Hmm... so Thumper sounds good? Haha if I find the second one I saw from the litter again, I'll consider Murderbitch. Thumper and Murderbitch... best brothers EVER!
Good for you man, on a similar note I found a bunch of baby ducks and their mom with my friends. They were about to walk into a busy road and I stopped most of them. One made it through, he fell in a drainage grate. I still hear they desperate quacking, I hope he is dead

Name it tommy!
The rabbit probably isn't looking at you in the last picture OP, a rabbit's only blind spot is in-front of it's nose. They can see behind them, but not directly in-front.
Name it Alex.

Plus if you are going to give it food, don't give it lettuce, it is pretty bad for them, as it contains too much water. Carrots are also not ideal. Spinach or dark Cabbage are good, as well as hay.
Call him Troy, he looks like a Troy. Or maybe a Jason.
Aww. That's so cute, you are a hero to this little thing  So glad a nut wasn't there at the time. Probably would have just left it there.
