we'll see. I made it so all future ftps go to a second folder called ftps... http://www.jaggerestep.info/ftps/username for organization purposes.
This isn't going to last more than 2 weeks.
This isn't going to last more than 2 weeks.
Why do you say that?
No matter what you may think, your host isn't going to be able to provide you with unlimited storage or bandwidth.
I don't suspect anyone will be using their ftps anyhow.
Until a few wise guys decide to use it to back up their entire computer. Or a troll starts uploading warez.
then I ban them, and that's that. he said terabytes of space and gigabytes of bandwidth daily is alright, so..
We can use it to back up a whole computer though, right?
You're silly, it's highly unlikely your host would stand for you hosting a file hosting service. Additionally your service can easily be abused due to the sheer fact that you're giving people FTP Accounts without question or without any real control to what they can upload. Realistically - I could upload a script that could quite literally do anything I wished it to, such as provide me with database details and content, etc. EDIT; I just looked at your hosts Terms & Service which confirm which was previously said - You are violating said terms by A) not having a fully functioning website. B) using their services to provide mass-filehosting.
Plus unlimited storage is only usually something like 50,000 inodes. Good luck finding a host that will actually give "unlimited"
No host gives you "unlimited" anything. That's just stupid.
How odd, it seems to always reject my password.
rofl, owned.
you're pathetic
No host gives you "unlimited" anything. That's just stupid.
How do hosts even offer "unlimited" and get away with it is one thing I want to know. I mean, ISPs offering supposedly "unlimited" bandwidth, yeah, it works, but hosting?
How do hosts even offer "unlimited" and get away with it is one thing I want to know. I mean, ISPs offering supposedly "unlimited" bandwidth, yeah, it works, but hosting?
It's called over-selling and you want to steer clear from those hosts as soon as you see that.

I think since everyone is concerned about space issues, you should set it to a nice 20 gigs for everybody.

Well that did not last long at all. Good call first page.
