I'd love to go urbexing but I know literally nowhere to do it, I doubt i'd be able to find someone to do it with me, and I'd probably end up shitting myself and crying

No matter what comes in your way always find a way to urban exploration. Bring friends, supplies, hell even an ipod or walkman. just do it
dude how hold are you? after reding some of your stories i just dont belive them.
I'm 15, and just because you spend your existence in a basement lurking on facepunch doesn't mean that what you are too lazy to do yourself, cannot be done by others. I like to explore places, and get to know the world around me. It's unsatisfactory to try and do that from behind a computer screen with google maps satellite imaging. Also, I think it's kind of weird that you've only been on facepunch for less than a week, and the second goddamn post you make is pointlessly criticizing someone. Come on man, at least find something to criticize other than because you don't "belive" them. If you really want to poke around in my "stories" feel free to PM me about it. if you want to view pictures of the highschool, refer to this thread. Also, try to get a satellite image of the place. A good place for this would be google maps. If the place shows signs of recent inhabitants, try scoping the place out before going in. If you're certain somebody lives inside, just find a new place, Unless it's a place that the risk would be worth getting some good photos. Hearing voices from down the hall. It's either security or homeless and I personally hate dealing with either one.
Hearing voices from down the hall. If you aren't sure how to do that, check out this thread. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1224609
I am going to a hospital that's abandoned. I will record my journeys. ( I am going alone so I can't wait) EDIT Yeah I didn't think this through ( it was late that night) but I meant to say "hotel". It's a minor area since I never go to hotels..

It has allowed me on some occasions to make "friends" and to continue my trip without trouble.
I usually do avoid but I also keep a pack of smokes on me. It has allowed me on some occasions to make "friends" and to continue my trip without trouble.
That's a fucking genius idea, it's too bad urbexers under 18 most likely don't have a way to get cigarettes
..How do I describe what I just came back to.... Well it start's off with me (alone) going to this abandoned hotel a forestry-like kinda area. There was (luckily) no security on the way there. Let me say what I brought.. I brought a flashlight, rope, and a pocket knife. I didn't really think this through... Enter the hotel. It had a hole from the bottom floor all the way up to the third one.. it wasn't big but then again it wasn't small.. So there was graffiti and then again just anything you'll see in an abandoned building. Empty booze bottles, magazines, bricks, hell I even found an iphone which was still working. But by the time I went to the third floor, I heard a noise. I looked around and walked around and almost fell through that damn hole, and then heard nothing. Then I heard it again. It was bell chimes. So I heard some person talking to another. He was on the second floor, and I was on the third. I could see him, thus I saw an iphone against his ear. From what I heard, I guess he gathered some people or something and in 10-15 minutes they came to the hotel's second floor. I wasn't scared since I thought they were 16-17. Yeah they were young. So I decided to get the hell out because I want no trouble. So as any hotel there's one hallway and in the middle there's elevators and at the ends there's stairs to go down. The right sides stairs were kind of ruined so I tried going down the left. Now's the time to point I could not see their faces. But I did. They spotted me going down from the second to first floor. And they saw me. and they told me to come to them. This is where I saw their front. Short hair. And I'm sure you are all familiar with the vendetta mask or if you want to call it "anonymous" mask. Each of them from what I could tell had a knife... So I ran down. Sadly, I tripped and they grabbed me. When they did, I blacked out. Enter the night. I woke up in the hotel and saw them around me. They refused to speak. I couldn't move since I was attached to the chair. Now is the time I realized they were not young. No. It was not. I realized that they were about 31-32. Now this is scary, super terrifying. I was so scared, my rope flashlight, and knife were gone. And then they let me go... They told me to never come back here. And damn right I didn't. I ran in the forest in the dark to reach my car, and I fucking drove away.. So I am not urbexing for a while. And hell, I don't want to even leave my god damn house. Thank you for your time and goodnight. [sp] Please be warned every time you go urbexing and always bring A friend. I'm currently at my girlfriend's writing this. Just remember to always be careful and bring a friend. [/sp]
holy shit where do you live?
This nigga's story
Sounds like part of an amateur horror movie man. You should be more careful, and follow those tips i posted earlier ._.
That's odd. I have ran into people, other explorers, homeless, police, that have given me a not welcome vibe but never anything remotely like that. Possibly because I never go alone and research and watch a building for a week or so before entering. If you decide that this hobby is for you I suggest finding like spirits to join you. It's always safer in small groups. Also I advise against taking a pocket knife, it's amazing how small things like that can upset security or police if you get caught. However I am by no means a know all guru and most people have different opinions as to what is acceptable in a explorers bag. I can also suggest picking up this book the author was a huge inspiration to me up until his sad death. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0973778709
:words:
it is my hobby to always take a small pocket knife or one weapon to defend myself because hell, you never know what can happen.
Sounds like part of an amateur horror movie man. You should be more careful, and follow those tips i posted earlier ._.
thanks.. i still am terrified though.
holy shit where do you live?
currently I am in Seattle.(i live in new jersey). seattle is the place where the hotel was.\ (that's not why I am there though)
Personally that sounds like some real shady shit, i'd tip the police about it.
Personally that sounds like bullshit
Personally that sounds like bullshit
It's a bit hard to believe considering there are no photos - I mean, judging by what I can see in the subforum, people usually bring cameras to the places they go - Hell, why would you go without one?
It's a bit hard to believe considering there are no photos - I mean, judging by what I can see in the subforum, people usually bring cameras to the places they go - Hell, why would you go without one?
Some people like to just get away from everybody else, have a smoke, or just chill the fuck out at some breathtaking place. Hell, why do you think most people take walks when they're irritated or just not in a mood to deal with people's shit? It feels really fucking great to scale the side of a building and just look out over the town. Especially when you can get into the abandoned building from the roof as well. Bringing a camera isn't even required to have fun. Some people can't afford them anyway. I use a fucking cell phone camera because I can't afford a nice camera. Point being, shit happens sometimes when you go out on a walk or a drive. You don't always think to bring stuff with you when you go places. Or your phone might have just ran out of battery before getting there. Abandoned places tend to be occultist dwelling places, and places where people up to no good will sometimes be hanging around. That's why people find it sketchy when they see a person on abandoned property, or in the window of an abandoned building. People catagorize urban explorers in with junkies, drug dealers, occultists, and various other shady groups unless they have a clear understanding of what the hell you're doing at a building closed since the late 80s. Hell, I had the cops called on me one time when I went to the abandoned school. Just because someone didn't take pictures, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Plus, there's a good chance if he had brought a camera it would have been taken. I'm guessing anything of value was taken as well off of him. Either way, I understand your skepticism but what's the point of lying over something like that? It's a bit irritating when something happens traumatic or not, and nobody believes you just because it doesn't sound like a normal thing that happens. Fuck, I fell off of the roof of a 2 story building once and woke up without any broken bones, and just a few bruises. Who's to say my story is any less plausable than his?
That's a good way of looking at things, I think if I was like that I'd go full look around every corner mode. I could imagine it being a hotspot for security and what not.
I tend to not do that after I get inside. The last thing I'd want to do is make suspicious movements and whatnot
I tend to not do that after I get inside. The last thing I'd want to do is make suspicious movements and whatnot
It's not exactly suspicious if youre careful about it. Hell, I use a pocket mirror to look around corners, and if someone shows up I can say I was fixing my hair.
My main priority is to not startle anybody in a location. If I can prevent someone from seeing just a hand holding a mirror reach out of a corner that they can't see, I will. While uncommon, there ARE cases where people have been tased or violently tackled and beaten, then arrested in abandoned buildings.
It's not exactly suspicious if youre careful about it. Hell, I use a pocket mirror to look around corners, and if someone shows up I can say I was fixing my hair.
this is brilliant I'm going to start doing this

Most people are likely to look straight forward in a direction they hear a noise, unless trained not to. Also, people are more likely to be startled by a figure moving through the darkness, opposed to something small that can be blamed on an animal.
this is brilliant I'm going to start doing this
It's not even a pocket mirror honestly. I bought a mirror for my school locker and it got busted, so I saved the largest shard and broke it into a rectangular shape.
another thing I hate is camping out in the building with friends. my god my friends are retarded douchebags who like to scare each other and my god I want to fucking sleep damnit.
Sounds like you stumbled upon a cult meeting or something.
another thing I hate is camping out in the building with friends. my god my friends are retarded douchebags who like to scare each other and my god I want to fucking sleep damnit.
Bringing assholes is never a good idea man Try to find some people on urbex forums in your area. Hell, anyone who is serious about urbex would do.
Bringing assholes is never a good idea man Try to find some people on urbex forums in your area. Hell, anyone who is serious about urbex would do.
my only friends who are brave enough are assholes except for one but he moved sadly
What usually gets me is when the dead silence is broken by something falling or another sound, 'specially if my friends and I are standing still not doing anything. Blood can get me sometimes, too, though on one occasion, when my friend showed me an abandoned house that was available to get into, the toilet looked like it had some blood in it, I'll post the picture if I can find it. Also, Chaos, man, I wish I lived nearby, I'd totally go to that school and shit myself. and enjoy it
Blood can get me sometimes, too, though on one occasion, when my friend showed me an abandoned house that was available to get into, the toilet looked like it had some blood in it
I don't see why always everybody is afraid of blood. Blood really isn't anything and if you see it you should be careful and keep your senses up
