What
I really liked the first Saints Row, then I played GTA:IV and loved the physics and everything.
And then I played Saints Row 2 and it was extremely boring, especially the car physics. I tried SR1 again but I didn't like that one either... I hope I will like SR3, but I doubt it.
The bad vehicle physics kinda ruins the whole game for me, I liked it at first but after GTA:IV I just couldn't go back.

At the end, instead of him saying "this is our city" put in Gabes voice to say "delay episode 3"
This game gets so much more awesome when you learn one of the characters is voiced by the same voice actor as Garrus.

It was the other way around for me.
I got GTA: 4 and though it was pretty cool but then my friend found SR2 and recommended it to me and we've loved it ever since. I prefer it to GTA: 4 since it's overall much more fun to me. I haven't really noticed a lack in physics, mostly because I'm just enjoying it too much.
However GTA: 4 is still a great game in it's own way.
Imo you would play GTA: 4 for a fun and realistic experience and SR2 for a fun over-the-top-hilarious experience.

Another character in the game has Anderson's VA, who happens to be my favorite black guy ever next to Morgan Freeman.

And GTAIV has a brilliantly written story, interesting characters, hilarious Satire, and two great DLC's.
Lost and Dammed being my favorite in the GTAIV saga.
At this point, you can't really compare the two series unless you are being very generous in the comparisons.
GTA IV and Saint's Row are both Sandbox games that have to do with Criminals.
Pretty much all that is left between the two at this point.
