Team Hitler's nazis :v:
A gimmick is specifically something that's meant to gain attention. By saying that they're the first full female LoL team, that makes it a gimmick.
Why do we have to be gamers, can't we just be "people that play games". Gamers has this horrible stigma attacked to it.
"gamer" culture is just asinine, it's like a constant competition to decide who can be the most petty ("hardcore gamers" vs "casuals" and whatnot) i don't even know why people even care about this stuff so much, why is it such a big deal?
its not a fucking gimmick. how shitty can you be to say people cant band together based on something they share that most within their niche do not? there's a huge fucking difference between "selling" something based on race or gender and basing something on race or gender. No, it's stupid because making a group about female gamers secludes males, but, thats not whats wrong with it, its wrong because its making a VIP lounge because they were born a certain way or they try and make themselves seem exclusive / unique / better than other people just because they are females YOU SHOULD NEVER SECLUDE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE THAT IN A GROUPS "JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE MALE/WHITE/BLACK", THAT IS EXACTLY HOW YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL SEXISM/RACISM ON TOP OF THE CURRENT SEXISM IN VIDEO GAMES and hey, there can be examples, but when you do it to make some kind of "VIP exclusive" group or a group about "Trying to make females look better" rather than like equals (And when making females look like equals, you should also allow males), yes its a fucking gimmick. Your gender/race shouldn't matter in games, period, the end, thats all that should be said about your gender. Don't comment about it, and other people especially shouldn't make sexist comments. people seriously think like this in 2013 wow no words what the hell are you even saying? I was talking about the work "Hardcore" being a terrible thing to call yourself unless you are so much into games that you spend an absurd amount of time and money into anything gaming, hell, anyone that calls a hobby "Hardcore" is an idiot
You don't seem to have any idea what you are talking about
There are two groups, girls who play video games and girl gamers. Girls who play video games are normal people with a hobby and may or may not be on a team and like to have fun and enjoy playing video games. Girl gamers are people who think they are above everyone because they have a vagina and enjoy video games at the same time. I wonder what the ladies in this video are. Hmmmm...
does the NAACP encourage racism? it's some serious bullshit logic it certainly does not "add" racism, it angers racists (apply this to sexist, w/e same logic). it "doesn't matter" but you don't understand what it is like to be a minority and clearly lack the empathy to understand the logic being girls banding together when they are constantly harassed. just because you personally wouldn't "harass" someone for being a girl "as long as they didn't make it a big deal!" doesn't mean no one else would and that their desire to stick together is unfounded. At the same time it glorifies the terrible "GURL GAMER" sterotype I mentioned in my post above yours. If you're a girl, and you have lady friends, and you all like to play video games. Awesome. I think that is great and you should keep doing it. If you are a girl, and you and your lady friends play video games and rub those two facts in to everyone else and then when people get mad you scream out that it's sexism. Stop. Please.
i hate all of these ~~EDGY~~ e-sport trailers that include stills of team-members with their arms crossed, chin down eyes up, or, in the case of this video, SHOOTING FUCKING GUNS (??????) but this video has this juxtaposition of "girl with cat" and then "I'VE GOT A GUN EVERYONE WATCH THE FUCK OUT" that i think is comedy gold. girl gamers or not, the video is silly.
take a good look at yourself
Okay. I'm an asexual male who views gender in a very unbiased manner. I feel it is completely okay for girls to to boy things and boys to do girl things.
try to actually do some research as to why these groups form, maybe try talking to one of them rather than judging from a far, and then come back and tell me "they just want attention"
One of my friends is a girl who is in the competitive Magic the Gathering scene. She never let sexism bother her. It's just "men being men" according to her. She says it's rather silly to let a trivial thing wreck your life. So yes, this one group in this one video could very well be out for attention.

What is there to get mad about? Why should they care even if you are mad? Beyond that, the video that dunkey "parodied" here (which he did well, it's clearly a joke, as opposed to you guys taking it seriously like these girls really believe male gamers are nazis) was clearly overzealous and very aggressive, but the stats were correct, and frankly a lot of this backlash comes from men being afraid of being beaten by women. It's a silly and over the top video, but what the fuck is there to be mad about? Slander? it's accurate, however dramatized the video may be.
the only gaming scene worse than LoL is the fighting game "community"
holy shit lol
the only gaming scene worse than LoL is the fighting game "community"
that's a joke and a half
and again, just because you claim it doesn't bother you that girls play games doesn't mean it doesn't bother others purely on that virtue.
use the fucking edit button holy shit
you're making up issues that don't exist and subjecting women to your standards which they have no reason to follow.
Don't pull that card one me. I have no standards. I am mentally unable to sexualize things. I literally can not fall in love with another person. I cannot feel lust, or any of those things. Women are people who are free to do what they want. I see no real difference (besides the physical ones) between genders. I am completely unbiased in this argument.
i fucking love dunkey
He has such a unique way of humor :v:

I don't care if you're a man or woman, just stop, it's not right. I used the whole gamer girl thing as a thread relevant example.
think of it this way, if you were constantly being harassed because of some part of your life that you couldn't change (you could use asexuality for example), would you not seek out like minded people and try to take a stand against the people harassing you? even if they weren't being harassed, why not? there's a gaming group for people that are facepunch members, why not a group for women? its such a ridiculous double standard. for some reason the only people that can't have a group to their own is women. I used the whole gamer girl thing as a thread relevant example.
who is acting superior exactly? they are saying they are different and unique at best. beyond that, it was to promote a competitive group, the whole purpose is to say "we are better than the rest." you didn't say people who act superior because of their gender should stop, you clearly and specifically referred to women. why is that, you think?
I said people who act superior because of their gender should stop. I don't care if you're a man or woman, just stop, it's not right.
wonder if this thread will end in a group of certain people entering it, dumb rating everyone and then saying that making fun of women is bad
wait who
it is very easy to say as a white male playing videogames "why are these other people standing up, just shut up and play the game" because you are the majority. Put yourself in their shoes. there is no reason to group together if youre a white male because you can quite freely assume everyone is like you, that whoever you're playing with is also a white male and that no one will think any more or less of you because of your gender or race.
think of it this way, if you were constantly being harassed because of some part of your life that you couldn't change (you could use asexuality for example), would you not seek out like minded people and try to take a stand against the people harassing you? even if they weren't being harassed, why not? there's a gaming group for people that are facepunch members, why not a group for women? its such a ridiculous double standard. for some reason the only people that can't have a group to their own is women.
In all honesty, I would tell those people to cram it up their asses. It's not my fault I am (thing here). They're obviously stupid and/or jerks, why should I listen to what they have to say? My issue here is that you are presenting this problem of discrimination as if it is only related to women. I'm sure if there was a team of all black guys you would have some assholes screaming racial slurs and giving them shit. I'm certain, if there was a team of girls, and they ignored all that nasty shit being said. They played well, were respectful to others, and they didn't rub their gender in any one's face regardless of the reason they were formed. I'm pretty damn sure people would give them respect and they'd be just as fine as any other competitive team.
that's also (of course) why you don't see many/any legitimate male gaming/white gamer groups. they are the majority, there is no reason to group together based on something that the majority is.
but.. are you straight!? if the answer is no you have lost all power
:( fuck
that's also (of course) why you don't see many/any legitimate male gaming/white gamer groups. they are the majority, there is no reason to group together based on something that the majority is.
male only clans are also stupid
