I tied my shoes this morning, both of them!
What a terribly ugly spot for the number plates
Wen don't want to drill into the front bumper. I was planning for a different way to put the stupid front plate, but I got lazy.
I went to jury duty and was a responsible citizen today
I really love this machine. I feel myself getting googly eyes looking at it like it's a middle school crush. The huge obnoxious racing exhaust for a single 186cc cylinder brings a smile to my face every time. Painted the RV roof with some awesome sealer. 3 Times for that extra sealyness. Then found my passenger cv axel was trying to go awol. Tore down the whole knuckle assembly and checked it out. Splines are still good, which is good. Then figured I'd add some grease to the outer joint because it was feeling a bit stiff, not so now. Front suspension still makes a random thunk when hitting bumps and I cannot for the fucking life of me figure out where the gad damned hell it's coming from, I have shaken, twisted, flexed, turned, rolled and basically kicked everything under that car and not one thing makes even so much as a squeak. If it's a subframe bushing I'm gonna weld that shit in solid. My subframe shit is too rare to try and replace.
You better have used kool seal or a product similar.
I think it was kool seal, lemme double check... [t]http://i.imgur.com/8jW4FTB.jpg[/t]
After half a year of work, it's back on it's wheels I'm also very sorry for anyone with Aussie internet I guess it's time for a real update. It's been a while since I've posted proper pictures instead shitty quality photo's even by 2005 webcam quality standards. I haven't had lots of time lately, hence why progress was kind of slow. But I'm all back at it again, so should be plenty of progress the coming month. (Disclaimer, all the body panels are still to be painted. However I want to wait until I've built everything so I don't have to modify any freshly painted body panels.) (Also I've probably posted lots of this already so excuse me for doubling up on the content) This is how the car stands as of today. There's been loads of progress. The biggest one obviously being the suspension. I've chosen to mount a complete E46 (M3) front suspension. Using a E46 M3 cup AST 4100 suspension setup. -E46 Wheelhubs -E46 Lower control arms (With E36 lolipops and exentric bushes) -E46 Tie rods -E46 330i sway bar with custom poly mounts -E46 Shortend sway bar links -E46 M3 suspension -E46 M3 Brakes and discs So what started out as a simple E46 lower control arm mod kind of turned into a crazy side project. I've also been busy on the back, everything has been sandblasted and powdercoated. Everything has been fitted with hard poly bushes. (95sHa in hardness) While I was at it I also installed a adjustable camber arm. (For the sharp eye, yes I still need to put plates between the rear-subframe bolts and bushes, and yes I need to clean up the tank straps :v:) After all this I got rid of the old dashboard. Well old...I've custom made it for this car and never even used it :v: I needed to use the original dash because I wanted to keep the original instrument cluster. That looked like this : Now I've came across a AIM datalogger in the meanwhile, together with a digital dashboard. And this offers everything I need -Revcounter -Shiftlights -Programmable warning (lights) for temp, oil, etc. -Datalogging -Possibility to keep track of fuel level And so, it had to go....It make room for a polyester dashboard. I had the polyester dashboard flocked. And the result is pretty great. (In some spots there's light shining thru, this is because I haven't closed the heater-core gap and the sun is shining right into the back of the dashboard. Probably forgot some stuff, but I guess ya'll will see plenty in the coming month. Next up : brakes!
Buy new straps and hardware then use permanent Loctite or safety wire. I wouldn't trust those straps based on how they look. Skip to 7:50 on this video. I wrapped up my old new motor all nice and the shipping company will pick it up from me when they drop off the new new motor or something like that. I just pressure washed the living hell out of the trans, I contemplated painting it but I think the trans leaks on itself anyways and I'd have to wire brush the living hell out of a shitty DX gearing, open diff cable transmission just to have it get disgusting again. I'll just brass brush away all the grease where you can see it visibly on the front and top after I get it in the car. I just bought a new Honda myself as my first geared bike. I was torn between the grom (msx here in the uk) and the cb125f. I decided to go with the cb125f. A little bit bigger of a bike in physical size (I dono I find it a bit more reassuring. The wheels on the grom are tiny) and where I live new the cb125f is £500 cheaper.
My brother's CBR125 can handle those speeds, but it's definitely better suited at lower speeds. You'll just have to give one a go to get an idea of their power
Depends how much you weigh and how happy you are to cuddle down on the bike - my mate can get 68 out of his cbf125 but with a somewhat heavier person (me) it tops out around 60. Im selling my 91 explorer currently
Problem is for me as im in the UK parts for the Explorer are no where to be found, say if my torque converter goes i need to import it from the US and that's about £300...

The good thing about Honda 125 engines is they can be redlined for pretty much forever, they are designed to operate at max RPM for extended periods of time without any problems. It's just a blast to ride overall, whether you're riding for fun or actually needing to go somewhere, it makes it an enjoyable experience. Being able to park literally anywhere helps, the motorcycle parking areas on base get filled very fast, the grom is one of the only bikes that can be jammed in some tiny spots. It's light enough where I can literally just pick it the fuck up and move it into the tiniest spot possible without breaking a sweat (I'm pretty fucking strong but even my smaller friends can move it physically without much effort). I personally have a 186cc big bore kit on mine, which on top of an aftermarket intake and werkes competition racing exhaust, it gets 20+ horsepower instead of the stock 8-9 ponies. I am currently still breaking in the engine so I haven't taken it over 6-7k RPM (the custom ECU for this engine setup has the redline set at 12.5k RPM) but I got up to 45mph in 3rd gear at 6k RPM the other day. I'm a pretty big guy at 220lbs so that's pretty impressive in my opinion, definitely a fuckton more power than a stock bike.
I personally would also pick the cbf every time just for the extra size and a bit more power.
I'm pretty sure they have the same engine, but I could be wrong. So there really shouldn't be any more power in the CB125. It just has a form factor closer to normal bikes, so that's definitely a selling point if the size of the grom is worrying. I don't know what kind of tires it comes with stock, but stock grom tires are garbage and I'm looking to replace them ASAP.
I love turbos [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/A3D3511C-FC2C-4D11-9747-99D68C5E66FD_zpssguszb24.jpg[/thumb] Big ol' happy family. 57mm mama stock cummins turbo, baby suzuki turbo, and big papa 78mm borg. Picked the borg up today, its a S478 with a billet wheel, race cover, and 2 exhaust sides. Little use and no shaft play. [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/03C5BE00-7FB1-470A-885D-7A6704054F12_zpste3cjuu7.jpg[/thumb] I should make an easy 800hp on fuel only with it, if I ever run nitrous its good to 1000hp
There's something about an R32 Skyline covered in dirt, "I love drift" stickers, with a 20cm wide exhaust with a sticker "Louder than your mum last night" above it, aswell as P-plates, that makes me automatically assume the driver is a shitcunt
Took the car in for an inspection. I'm right that there is a rough cylinder/crank bearing caused by the overheating, but the consensus was that if the overheating/lean problem is sorted it'll probably get better and be of no consequence. Opinion was that some EFI sensors were FUBAR, so went and ordered replacements, should show up tomorrow. Gonna replace/top up every single fluid in there, make it as fresh as i possibly can. Fingers crossed.

Tempted to buy a Grom and slap some upgrades if you can more than double the power. Although there is a 90s Kawasaki zxr1100 on Craigslist nearby and I'm tempted to get that. Although I'm a bit worried about buying such a big bike when the only thing I've ridden is a 250
Do you guys ever have those times where everything is going well until you do something stupid and it ruins everything? I had one of those recently. I was replacing my intake manifold on my motorcycle (its a Yamaha xv250 and theyre rubber. The original one was starting to crack.) And I had the tank sitting on the seat. It was fine until I got up to wash my hands and knocked it off the bike accidentally with my elbow, and onto the ground. The pristine tank now has a giant fucking dent and massive scratches. I'm so fucking pissed at myself.

Sorry you boogered your tank though, that fucking sucks.

Although I'm a bit worried about buying such a big bike when the only thing I've ridden is a 250
There's probably well over 3k in upgrades in it. Fortunately for me, none of the work was done myself. I bought it from a guy who's a sponsored race vehicle driver/mechanic (both cars and motorcycles) who recently had another kid and just didn't have the time to ride it despite just finishing most of the work anymore. Got it for 4100 dollars, 700 miles on the bike total, 200 miles or so on the engine. Had a hard time starting because the stock battery/starter has a difficult time overcoming the higher compression of the larger engine, but putting in a new battery with 210 cold cranking amps instead of 65 fixed that issue pretty well. Upgrades like the BBK can't really be "slapped" on, but intakes and exhausts tend to be plug and play for Groms and they improve performance. However, you'd need a fuel controller if you do that and that's even more $$$. An inexpensive upgrade most people overlook is the front sprocket, simply going from a 15 tooth to a 16 tooth will up your max speed quite a bit. Lose a little off the line, but it's not a drag racing bike anyways. The stock engine is more than capable of dealing with that.
