Thoughts on converting my diesel to a dually? The truck was ordered as a '3/4 and a 1/2' - a 3/4 ton with HD suspension package. It has extra leafs front and rear, quad shocks in the front, the largest brakes available, a SF14 bolt rear, D44 front (1 tons had a D60). I need a new bed because rust and dents, it costs the same for both styles. Heres how it looks now; [t]http://i.imgur.com/cHcB2EY.jpg[/T] And here is almost how it would look after the conversion; [T]http://i.imgur.com/jpd7cfo.jpg[/t]
Only time I'd convert something to a dually is if the box is rusty or I cant find a clean single wheel box. Yours looks to be in real nice condition so i'd leave it! If you want to spruce it up, go to an auto parts store and look for a 3M eraser wheel and use it to remove all the old side moulding goop. Then pick up Nevr-dull and do all your chrome with it. A good claybar and cut and polish could probably do wonders to your paint as well

That is a pretty sharp truck, you'd be doing a ton of work to make it look worse. Get a new bed and get it as close to as is as you can, imo
it's a 500 dollar fucking morris minor, I've seen hundreds of these still running in registered in nz. not even slowlites are rare in nz. the subframe is rusted and the nz goverment wouldn't even allow this vehicle to run on the road anymore. the sidevalve engine is entirely seized and parts aren't commonplace anymore. my vauxhall victor is rarer and we're still putting a toyota engine in it :v: perhaps you'd also like to complain about my dads 27 model t with a sbc chev in it? what about my dads mk3 zephyr that's factory including gaskets except for the paintjob it desperately needed? or the 73 hq premier with the 383 in it because it's not original? we've got tonnes of "rare" and actually expensive cars, but none of them are going anywhere and would just be rusting to shit if we didn't pick them up.
Alright then fair enough.
The guy on craigslist I've been speaking to actually was selling an LS400 he flipped off a friend for $1900, it was super cherry but it sold literally right before I'd messaged him, apparently it was a hot commodity and I can understand why, given the price point. I would have loved to take it home. They look so stately. I'm also considering that, though I don't know much of anything about the entire line besides what the cars themselves are, and they're friggin /huge/ compared to what I'm used to. I'd probably eat my words the moment I sat down in a Town Car with an unbroken air ride suspension though. Even sitting in an Olds Ninety-Eight was magnitudes more serene than what I daily.
I can't knock a crown vic/merc marquis/lincoln towncar. Just don't buy an interceptor, get a nice one that was babied by old people :v:
Interceptors are the only ones that can get out of their own way though
Well fuck, Climb To The Clouds 2017/Mt.Washington Hillclimb was an insane success. I won't dive in to the rich details too much (unless asked), nor post every last cellphone pic I took. But: 1. Drove to the summit for my first time ever, rad as fuck even at a 20-35mph pace. Had some low tread on those tires, kind of impressed he made it up alright through the rain and gravel. 2. My Buddy Ian made the podium in Prepared 3 class, came in 3rd! In his NB Miata btw. Me and several other people had our names on his hardtop window because we sponsored him! 3. Travis Pastrana.....fucking DESTROYED the 2014 record of 6:09....with a 5:44. His teammate Higgens....well his car ate shit. Video to come soon (friend sent me one on FB, don't think there is a way to link or embed that).

I wish my vic had a sunroof. All its got on the ceiling is a broken ticket light, and a hole for where the fire suppression switch used to be. [editline]10th July 2017[/editline] and the crappy dim stock domelight too I guess
So I ended up getting a casette adapter for my car. It's perfect because it also gives a use for my cool but fucking useless cup holder :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/IC8oCKc.jpg[/t] Fucking SAAB cupholders work way better for phones than actual drinks. All that's left is to get a short charger to put in the cigarette lighter to attach to my phone while it's in the cupholder :v:

the switch on mine broke, I popped it off to take a look, and all the wires are a twisted together electical taped bodge. I just snipped them clean and said "fuck it Ill make it work again later"
I wish mine had the red bulb in it so it didn't fucking blind me every time I used it.
It uses a standard reverse light bulb, its easy to change.
I've never really had an issue with the cup holder, but if you're drinking from a soda bottle you can put it behind the seat belt receiver
With my mums old 9-5 and my dads current 9-5, we've had bad experiences with it so we'd rather not use it for drinks
I wonder if I should try ratcheting my bent rad support back into a normal shape. I'd bolt a new one on if I had any sort of cutters or welding torch but there's a possibility I can get lucky and bend the top bar to a more symmetrical measurement
Guys. Guys. Guys. I must have been doing this wrong the whole time. Back when I first got my SRT-4, I changed the spark plugs to some that were on the compatibility list. The cars been kinda sluggish since I got it for varying reasons, but the other day I swapped out the spark plugs for the ones the SRT-4 guys claim to be the second coming of Christ. They're not wrong... Holy shit this car has NEVER been this fast. Doesn't stutter above 3500rpm under WOT. It just pulls ALLLLL the way to red line, when I shift it's already spooled the turbo back up. Black magic I tell you. [t]http://i.imgur.com/s9mNEfB.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/hYT2ME0.jpg[/t]
ok you got me towncar with cvpi running gear and front clip
Or if you can find one, a Mercury Marauder, the holy grail of vics. Also as far as power my family had a 97 vic that put out 210hp and it got out of its own way just fine, was still a boat.

I just saw a BMW i8 on my daily commute... Never thought I would see one of those in my town. How many exist in the USA, anyway?
I've seen two separate i8s on my commute into Fort Worth. One was black, one was white.
