Keep the steelies, it looks all business! I wasn't really a fan of that gen of celica, but that car looks meeeeeean in black

Lower it a little, 15% tint all around
That car looks rad. Hope it doesn't sound whiny. Car like that deserves a low rumble.
All I can say clutch is you are a mad man.
Got some kinda pic dump on all it's progress?

Pristine 92 probe for $2500 in a local sales group, 92k miles and mechanic owned. Fuck me I want it so bad lol. It's probably a shit car but it's so clean and quirky.
Probes are cool. I have an unexplainable fetish for funky looking shit boxes.

Photobucket fucked me so not any more :( I'll try to put something together.
Exhaust should sound good with a big cam.. it's a "Japanese muscle" car through and through. Straight off the header it's deafening lol.

Oh, well now I need a youtube clip of this, because Japanese cars don't oft sound like a muscle car unless a ton is done to them. And I really want to hear this beast run.
Here it is back when I was getting it dialed in! Open header.. still need exhaust! Can't wait to tame it down.

Alright guys, snap poll time.
How to you set your valve clearances?

Cold engine =
The specs printed under my hood give the set tolerances for both. Searching other forums gets pages of mud slinging, "eh, it's only .001, does it matter?" and "Haynes manuals are for fags".

cold engine if I have a choice but in practice it mostly boils down to whether or not I had to run to the parts store first
Reneged on the Town Car purchase, it would've sincerely put us in a financial bind. I also tried getting the Subaru inspected today, which resulted in it passing emissions (despite having a giant hole in the fuel neck) but failing safety because the valve cover gasket is leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold. Going to sell this car for parts before some poor bastard buys it off me and char-broils themselves.
Today was not great, but at least I still have all of my money. Woooo.
Where are you located?
Looking for a project Subaru on the east coast, prefer close to NC.
Your post earlier almost looks like a PA plate?

For my truck I did the initial lash cold, and then let it run for 15 minutes, and then re did it. Theres a surprising amount of change.
I did my lash about 4 times total just to be sure.
The way my dad told me is do it 1 valve at a time, when the exhaust valve is going down do the intake, and vice versa. That way you're 100% sure its off the lobe.

yeah a refresher on my paint is the next big to do thing. i've torn out my carpet though, going to be soundmatting everything, roof included
after a big ass storm, it was alright enough to continue on that roof chop.
first thing was to take the 4 inch segments of A-pillar we removed and shrink it, then use it as a sleeve to hold the roof to the remains of the a pillar.
[t]https://puu.sh/wK4Tu.jpg[/t]
[t]https://puu.sh/wK4Tr.jpg[/t]
with those welded to the roof, we inserted the pegs into the a pillars and nudged it all together with strops
[t]https://puu.sh/wK4Tp.jpg[/t]
there's a few different ways to fix up the rear roofline, we chose to fantail everything outwards.

"final" rear roof silhouette

and the current look of the front of the car after this second day of work is such:

this is gone really well so far, it's nice to work on a car where you don't have to be so delicate and precise :v: basically everything's been done with an angle grinder and a gasless mig.
yeah a refresher on my paint is the next big to do thing. i've torn out my carpet though, going to be soundmatting everything, roof included
dynamat is goof stuff but doing the roof might be overkill. I like to keep my roof raw, too much insulation and you lose the ability to cool down the cabin by hosing down the roof
Thanks guys. I let the car sit overnight and set the valve clearances cold this morning. Also did some maintenance on the plugs, cables and distributor before finishing the morning resetting the timing.
I'll have the car go in to the shop Tuesday for pan, valve cover and distributor o-ring gaskets and leave the broken bolts to someone else this time.
Parked next to my lower trimmed brother this morning.

What's the difference apart from the wheels?
itty bitty spoiler
and what looks like a satellite radio antenna or something
Yeah, those are the external differences. Mine has upgraded suspension and a limited slip diff, as well, which the one on the left lacks.
Yup, I'm in Camp Hill, PA, south central region. The car needs a new fuel filler neck, knock sensor (I have one off Amazon), valve cover gasket, and seatbelts (which I think are under lifetime warranty). It also leaks a lot of things. It runs and drives fine aside from those problems. I've owned the thing for four years now and I'm definitely ready to get rid of it ASAP.

That shopping cart makes me nervous... :worried:
Wow you both have custom plates too
I'd sell it to you for max $900. I don't expect to get much from it, I just want to see it out of my hair finally.
At the moment, i couldn't jump on it for that much. I'm getting married in about a month and am trying to save funds.
If it's still around after my wedding, I'd be more interested near that price
Dumb question time!
So we're trying to get rid of my grandfathers car, a 2003 Mercury Sable, LS Premium, 3.0L V6. It's pretty messed up, scratched etc. the kicker is that it has only 65K on it. It's really not worth keeping around since we've got some newer cars (my '04 Exploder has the infamous 4.0L V6 :v:), just how much could we get for the thing? Is it even worth anything?
$2000 if it's decent...
So I work at a bike shop and tomorrow I'm going to put my bike up on the Dyno and do a pull for shits and giggles. I have been taking bets at work what my Virago will put out, and I want to ask you guys too.
What do you think my xv250 will put out? I'm thinking 25 horsies.
