I'm on my way now to pick up the Jeep :excited:
Bit of a blogpunching because I like to. Our car still has the speedometer and while asking around I got suggested to wire up two LEDs, one directly on the speedo sensor itself and then the second hooked up to a pulse wire which exists on most Peugeot 406 models for the cruise control or navigation, even though ours doesn't have either. At least it's a cheaper solution than gambling on buying another ECU scanner and it being unable to read the ECU too. Accessing the speedo sensor was more difficult than I expected on first glance though. It's located just above the drivetrain of the passenger side wheel and it was a pain to pry the connector off. I've only taken it off to clean the contacts with some brake cleaner to try if that changes anything, which it didn't. Did manage to snap a pretty good picture while I was under the engine however. Mine! [t]https://puu.sh/wLaqy.png[/t] It was 35 000 Nok, I got it for 26 000. :v:
Shit, 35,000 would have been damn near theft here
The door sills are in pretty terrible shape so I got some welding to do and there's a vibration that occurs when you let go of the throttle, but only when going over 70 kph. He driven with that wobble for two years without figuring it out :v: Also I got a 6" lift kit and an australian sick front bumper with it which I'm gonna sell. [editline]16th July 2017[/editline] Also the headlights are hard to turn off for some reason. There's a light switch that you pull out for them to come on but they have a hard time turning off even when you push the switch back in :v:

I don't must much here, but the other day I bought a thing [t]http://i.imgur.com/cfK2ecY.jpg[/t] 1999 LS. Emerald Pearl Mica. Tan leather, bose audio, Torsen LSD, power windows/mirrors, cruise, AC works, etc... blah blah 145,000 miles, timing belt and water pump recent, new-ish yokohama s.drives, new shocks, blah blah its neat

Maybe more so because they're just incredibly typical here. :v: They're preddy cool regardless, though, I've always liked them. If you want it to be as authentic as possible, don't wash it, let it rust out, never change the oil, and put (at least several) confederate flags hanging off it somewhere. Ought to give your fellow countrymen something to raise their eyebrows at.

Any one in the south Minnesota area want or know anyone who wants a not working 1987 Fiat X1/9? It came a terrible time, unfortunately I'll be moving soon, and am pretty much forced to sell or scrap it, so if anyone is interested or can help me figure out the best way to try and sell it, I'd be thankful. I really love this car, and would be very sad to see it scraped. Full album of pics I have of it. http://imgur.com/a/bjkfJ

What color would you recommend for those factory rims you see on most cars that come with factory wheel covers over them?
What color would you recommend for those factory rims you see on most cars that come with factory wheel covers over them?
Pretty sure black is the standard. Harder to see behind the hubs.
Pretty sure black is the standard. Harder to see behind the hubs.
And brake dust blends in with the wheel color, since it's dark brown.
Yesterday I got the headlights in! Then I cleaned the garage.. my poor Buick hasn't been garaged since I got my NSX like 3 years ago :( But now it's safe again!! Tonight I went into the suspension on the Celica.. new shocks came in and I took the grinder to the springs. Snipped a coil out from the rear and we were almost perfect But riding high in front. Then I pulled the struts out in the front, used a pipe wrench to take the strut 'cap' off to remove the shock element and slide in the new KYB one.. What a pain! Then I snipped a coil and a half off the front springs. Ended up not being enough drop.. I think I need to cut about 1/2 coil more. I was tired and it was late, though. I also got impatient and took the side marker light covers from the facelift '81 front end and rigged them onto the car.. they looked decent for now. Good enough until I find a set of '78/'79 marker light lenses.. Yea right LOL been looking since September. More spring cutting.. soon!
... :v: those rear coils are temporary, right? I know cut rear springs aren't probably as bad as front ones but it's probably worth it getting proper springs made for such a nicely done ride, assuming you're not already gonna do that.
DAmn, that think is lookin mighty sexy
Nope, planning on keeping them. There's nothing really wrong with cutting springs, inherently. Yea, it's a little ghetto, but I'm planning on riding on these and if they work well I'll blast and powdercoat them. The one thing that does need to be done on rear springs that ride on a straight axle is that they need to be strapped in to make sure they don't fall out if you get airborne over a set of railroad tracks or something, and the way the spring perch is on this car that's no problem to fab up a nice easy strap. And of course that's only necessary if you cut them short enough to be able to fall out with the axle hanging all the way down to the end of the shocks' travel. Don't get it twisted, those little bits laying on the ground are what was removed from the springs, not what's being used as the springs. Other options include buying "King Springs" from Australia for about $400 that give around 1.5" drop or getting those custom ones made. No thanks either way. I could also buy a bunch of misc springs and see what fits, like supposedly AE86 fronts fit in the rear on these cars for a drop. But that's money. Cutting springs is free!
yeah back springs aren't so critical, but I definitely wouldn't do that on the front. at least down here, getting custom ones fabricated isn't that expensive, but of course just cutting the springs is free. i'd just be concerned over some introduced bumpsteer without getting shortened springs made from stiffer material imho.
Planning to buy a HFT 90A flux welder. Based on the reviews, its exactly what I need. A welder for very occassional, thin steel welding. Have some exhaust work to do, possibly body work if it does good enough.
Yesterday I got the headlights in!
I know it's not the point of the post, but that NSX is still hot as hell. Treasure that thing.
Til dodge charger r/t's also came with awd
Clutch I want your garage Also, anyone fancy a hollywood car? https://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Details/78657/bmw-328-coupe-e36-ex-tv-rallycross-car
went to a local car show this weekend, saw some cool stuff. apologies for internet killing. [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/ogzmCr.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/gJ159A.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/oS6pAr.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/g8lSj.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/xa4st.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/5ANBV.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/1YaLD.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/3MqeT0.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/1DM3p1.jpg[/t] [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/ncnxOL.jpg[/t] so this last one is something i don't really understand. it's a 3s-ge BEAMS swapped FR-S. which, while it sounds cool, is also turbocharged. i thought the beams was known for being a really revvy NA engine. there was a 3s-gte but it wasn't the beams, it had different internals and heads. it also throws up the question if youre just going to toss out one 4 cylinder for another 4 cylinder, why would you get one that's traditionally NA and then turbo it, when the FA20 takes boost fantastic, and then you don't run in to packaging problems or disrupt the weight balance and CoG of the car? combined with the 'purist' branding this whole conversion just confuses me. if you were being a 'purist', wouldn't a 4A-GE or 2zz-g(z)e be a better choice? i love the BEAMS but this seems like the wrong platform for it [editline]18th July 2017[/editline] also the car is dropped like 1.5-2 inches from stock and the bottom of the engine's oil pan is protruding from underneath the car and the guy doesn't have a skid plate. the oil pan is literally like 1 inch or less off the ground. if you were going to do this conversion why wouldn't you switch to a dry sump to save space? [editline]18th July 2017[/editline] also man i want a super cub
