Nope! They're trying to put laws into effect to make that happen, but they've been trying for years. Removing that shit completely transformed the bike, and studies have shown that the increase in emissions output is negligible at best. All the system did was take unspent fuel in the exhaust and pump them back into the intake, and any excess vapor went through the charcoal canister to atmo.
You'd agree, bikes run more efficiently and get better MPG when you get rid of all that crap and let the engine run how it's supposed to. Every stock bike I've seen makes minimal HP and gets shit MPG while smelling like a puddle of gasoline due to the richness. A new free flowing exhaust will let it run leaner and make more power.

There's some minor popping on decel at very low RPM's, I'm waiting on a new a/f mixture thumbscrew so I can tune with the bike running. The mixture screw on this bike is a weird d-shaped bit, never seen anything like it before, and the bit that came with the dynojet kit won't fit in under the carb with the carb installed.
First car wash in almost exactly a year, as well as first detailing in much longer. It'll be nice to have a clean car again.

Friggin Jiffy lube is happy as a clam to do Uber inspections but puckers right up when you ask them for a Lyft inspection. They have no clue what to do even when I explain to them to just treat it like a used car inspection. Very frustrating. Next nearest licensed place is about 40 minutes each way.
Ironic, since all the car electronics that seems dependable to me is Bosch parts that are "certified genuine spare part", and old Nippon Denso parts. You're again having trouble with the electronic fuel injection system that was considered "bleeding edge" when it was put in your car?
Well, less "again" and more "still". I've made the problem incrementally better and better, and now it's good to drive. But it's still running lean, and last night i took it all the way across town and it was running really hot despite it being 10pm and i had one instance of trying to turn it over, and having it run really rough and misfiring. I then pulled the o2 sensor to make it run maximum rich, started it just fine, reconnected the sensor and it was fine all night after that. And it still runs weird until you get heat into it, which is weird because why the hell would warming the car up affect EFI injectors or the AFM. If anything it should run too rich because the o2 sensor isn't up to operating temperature and the thermotime switch would enable the cold start injector. So, something's still fucky but i've fixed enough fucky that it's broadly a reliable car again. I might flush out the radiator though. It runs stupid hot in stop/start traffic but once you get up to even typical roadspeed the gauge comes down again. This whole mess might originally be kicked off by a plugged up radiator. Also the great irony is that the entire EFI system is off the shelf from bosch, and it's been the only actual trouble i've had with the car. Not one thing made by the otherwise notorious Lucas has given me trouble yet. Go figure.

Dunno how good my advice is going to be as it appears you have a l-jetronic system. In my experience with K-jet cars (yeah yeah not the same), I found that the following can be good things to check. - Check the coolant temperature sensor resistance when the engine is cold and when it is hot. If out of spec, replace. - I assume you checked that the AFM reads properly, if not, do so. - Check your idle duty cycle when the engine is warm. Not sure if L-jet has a duty cycle adjustment, but if there is one, carefully fiddle with it until you are at 50% (and only follow Jaguar's definition of duty cycle as every one defines it differently). - Make sure your cold start thermo time switch actuates properly. - Did you replace your thermostat and water pump. If not, has it been done recently. If not check the water pump weep holes by opening the radiator cap/ expansion tank cap, if your water pump is bad water will drip from the hole.
So in January I received my grandmother's Lexus IS 300. I really didn't expect much at all out of it. It is a Lexus after all. They're not particularly known for speed or agility, just being cocky and making luxury cars. [t]http://i.imgur.com/aIhLJ3B.jpg[/t] HOLY SHIT WAS I WRONG. This car is SO fun to drive. I'll be at a stoplight, and when I pull away, more often than not I find myself doing 50 mph in a 25 zone. As James May put it, "the engine cries out to be thrashed a bit." I am definitely gonna do a turbo on this when I have the money.
Florida really does have the worst drivers. Normally it is manageable, but in a 10-mile round trip to the grocery store, I almost managed to get killed 3 times without my own volition. Idiot 1) Doesn't understand mirrors or turning their neck, almost takes me out changing into my lane with his lifted 'murica turbodiesel even though we are literally the only two entities crossing the bridge and there is nobody to pass. Idiot 2) Doesn't understand stop signs, rolls one at 10mph right as I start moving and almost runs me over as I go through the intersection. Idiot 3) Doesn't understand... who the fuck knows. This crazy lady shoots out into 2 lanes of 50mph traffic not even 100m away from me, spontaneously stops in my lane, then proceeds to stare at me like a deer in headlights. Luckily the person in the lane next to me slammed on his brakes allowing me weave and dodge the loonie. I might as well walk to the store but lord knows I'd get run over on the sidewalk too.
Jiffy Lube is pretty much the most bottom barrel auto chain there is, in my opinion. Shoddy service and uninformed workers.;'
Believe me if I had other options to try first, I wouldn't have gone there, but the other nearest licensed inspection centers are over 40 miles away. The only one that I know for a fact will work is all the way 60 miles away in Santa Maria.

I've been through the whole gambit and it's still acting off. So hey, iunno. I might just cave, take it to a specialist and be done with it

So many people cali roll stop signs and I nearly hit them. Got plenty of videos of asshats doing dumb shit on my crummy dashcam but it records my face too, not pretty enough to be dashcam famous. And so many straight dump manifold ~car names here~ with turbos its absurd. Driving fucking sucks here and whats worse is no fun roads to drive.

If it's in top shape that's like a $7000 car give or take under 100k miles.

Hello! I was in Malta the other week (island below sicily). It was a treasure trove of cars my god. Skoda 130s, Bedford Tks, Bedford CAs, Vauxhall Vivas, Ford Escorts, Ford Fiesta XRs. I especially found a Diesel Mercedes in the Power Station/Fishing Port town called "Marsaxlokk" Anybody mind telling me what model this is? Sorry for my crap filming, it was about 32 degrees out, too hot for a brit :vs: In other news, I'm planning to have one of these for my first car [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0f/Opel_Astra_F_front_20081229.jpg[/t] Opel Astra F (or Vauxhall Astra F from where I live) I love these things and my mother had one of these when I was about 4. My family has about five cars for no real reason. 2003 Vauxhall Astra, 2012 Mini ONE D, 2014 Jaguar XFR, 2007 Mercedes W204, 1979 Mini 1000. It is beyond me how my father has enough money for all of these.

If all goes well I'll be picking this bad boy up soon. It'll be nice to have a tow capable vehicle. Plus all that interior room, and most importantly, big block! https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/d/ford-van-runs-and-drives/6228210803.html
[t]http://i.imgur.com/NQNRXf1.jpg[/t] Eyy, Saab club (except this one is a shitbox, but it's still cool)
[t]http://imgur.com/MYbSC9r.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/DfMxBqz.jpg[/t] I miss my Saab :(
Finally got the stupid head off of the PT! [t]http://i.imgur.com/vxlk6Hq.jpg[/t] It wasn't hard, just time consuming. Plus it was 105F outside, took roughly 5-6 hours to get it off. I was so dead tired that all I managed to do was put the cams back in and put it in the trunk. Going off to the machine shop soon. Also, the engine had some white stuff in the water passages... When I took the head gasket off, white chips fell out of the head's water passages, it crumpled like dry paint. But the entire water jacket of the engine is coated in this stuff. Hard water deposits maybe?
Of course it thunderstorms the night my car keys get lost while moving house and I had the windows down and the sunroof open because of how hot it was. :suicide:
