it takes a grand total of 45 minutes to do all 4 corners if it's disc brakes, double it for drums. once the wheel is off its just 2 bolts, take the old pads out, put the new ones in, and put it back together. if you can't wrangle the caliper on at this point get a c clamp and press the piston in with it. there's no need to take the caliper off the car or crimp off the brake lines or vent the cap or anything, and anyone who says different has never done brakes.
I don't like doing glass work myself because if I drop it or something there's nobody I can make buy me a new one, but it's easy to do so long as you're not clumsy in any way. think about it, have you seen some of the guys who do glass? a fair chunk of them aren't bright people.

I flush my coolant with plain water if it's not too bad, and if it is bad enough that water doesn't cut it it probably needs a rebuild anyway. oil I flush by dropping the pan and pulling off the valve covers and scooping out any sludge with my hands. for the most part using chemicals to flush engine oil does more harm than good unless you dumped a gallon of water in your case, in which case the chemical of choice is gasoline with ethanol. the gas thins the oil and the ethanol sucks out the water. just don't run the car with a case full of gas, thats a good way to eject a rod. drain the gas by dropping the pan, then put oil in it, let it idle for about 10 minutes, and change the oil again.
thanks to all for tips and shit. my sister offered her bf to do it so i took her up on that because he needs all the experience he can get (he wants to be a mechanic).

which is a good thing that he did because he found one of the ignition plug leads was busted.
haven't heard the car roar so beautifully since i got it.

This on top of feeling ill already really ain't the greatest thing. Got a police accident report filed and exchanged info and I'm letting my insurance handle the legwork because I'm tired and not up for this trash. So upset. It's driveable but I'd rather not because part of the lining on the underside scrapes against the tire.
The car is such an absolute /joy/ to drive and this kills me super bad. I just want it fixed so I can drive it again without it looking like a beater.
You can just push the lining away from the tire. It's just a big plastic cover

Don't worry bud, if there's one thing insurance is, it's pretty fast on the uptake. You'll have your slab on the road in no time!
Full coat of white finished!

I haven't even knocked the orange peel down and polished it up yet and I'm already loving it way more than tan.
I picked these up yesterday for fairly cheap. Either going on the Celica or the Miata for now. Who wears it better?

I guess third time rebuilding the same engine is the charm. About 24" of an s bend for exhaust with a glasspack loaded on backwards. Itll need some more exhaust so i dont kill myself.

I like em on the celica
I was really hoping you'd do black steelies with dog dishes on the Celica. Would look bad ass

I bought a Ducati today.
and there it shall remain, forever broken
and there it shall remain, forever broken
Hopefully not for at least a little bit. It's a 2009 with only 3k miles on it, and it just had new belts, a new battery, and valve checks done yesterday.
Looks like a "don't ask me any questions" special
How shit would the result be if I used only touch up paint + a small brush to fix up small paint chips on the doors without using clear coat or anything else?
I've got a small bottle off touch up paint but no clear coat and I just want to cover up some small scratches and paint chips, and I'd prefer not having to buy more shit for small things
I borrowed a 2004 dodge caravan and drove it for over an hour, and i've concluded they are the worst fucking things to drive. If there was a body roll competition it would win.
Speaking of which, is it normal that people absolutely despise the seats of Mercedes-Benz vehicles? Me and my brother use a 2012 A class for our driving lessons and we both can't stand the seats, it just feels so unnatural for some reason. A few months ago my dad let me drive our Peugeot 406 and I was blown away how comfortable it is. You actually get a much better feeling of what the car is doing, and generally it feels like you're sitting on a proper seat. The A class has 'racing' seats which are ridiculously low and it feels like you're getting sucked in them or something, even though our instructor doesn't seem to have a problem with these seats.
Oh yes, and then you have typical shopping cars. A friend of mine has a '98 Hyundai Atos, and even though I moved the seat back as far as possible my legs were still hitting the dashboard :v:

I'd imagine those touched up spots will be a bit dull compared to the areas with clear coat.

I actually asked a lot of questions and the guy not only had answers, but service receipts to prove everything. He lived in an extremely rich part of town and was older, said he just doesn't ride anymore and his wife is making him sell it. Bought the bike as a toy and only put 1k miles on it before garaging it for almost a year (hence the new battery). Insisted on getting a full service before letting anyone buy it, didn't add anymore to the price even though it was a 700 dollar service.
Also threw in the white fairing set, which I intend on putting on. Tried last night, but the allen heads require metric wrenches and mine are SAE, I couldn't get a good fit on a few bolts.

It's a 696, I wish it was a 1100 but still happy with the former, haha.
Holy deep fried bird shit on a shingle, how fucking stupid can people get?
I was on my cx, 2 or 3 cars behind a dump truck going down the interstate, and the fucker dumps probably 500lbs of coarse gravel just going down the road. I fishtailed a bit going through it, but if I would been behind him I probably would have gone down. He dumped another load coming off of the red light at the off ramp. Im glad i could pass him and send him off with a proper salute.
I get that everyone makes mistakes, but mother of fucking crocodile shrimp if you get in a dump truck without securing your load, and head down the highway, you are straight up endangering lives.

yeah idk, the few newer(2011 e550 & c class) mercedes i've sat in haven't been very comfortable at all, and the ride was pretty stiff too, honestly didn't seem even as comfy as my volvo s60. seems like mercedes is just a brand you buy now, not actual luxury, they honestly seemed more akin to shitty american "luxury", which is weird because honestly the lincoln continental is p comfy, and the CTS isn't too bad either.

How the heck can you tell the difference? My mate is drooling over one of the HyperMotards and he's always quick to correct me if I find one with the wrong engine. They all look exactly the same to me.

People hate the seats in my 2 Benzes too, but they're 80s brick Benzes. I personally find them very comfortable during long drives. Speaking of long drives, I drove from South NJ to the Massachusetts/Connecticut border this morning in my 1992 190E and got 25.2 MPG despite having a bike on my roof racks.
The new Benzes in sport trim do ride stiff, but I think the seats are the same story as my cars. I prefer the MBTex over the leather, as the leather is stiffer unless if you get the semi aniline stuff.

I love Ducatis - they're such vicious looking bikes, you can tell they're rapid just from a glance and yet theyre surprisingly rider friendly for the most part (the newest bikes anyway)
