Good news about my damaged front frame situation: After a while of careful observation, I finally realized that it's the bumper itself and the mount points that we're bent in the collision that threw everything off two years ago. Unfortunately in the process of bending it back I was made nauseous by overheating in the Florida weather. But I'll probably be able to align my bumper to my hood like I want after all this time
How the heck can you tell the difference? My mate is drooling over one of the HyperMotards and he's always quick to correct me if I find one with the wrong engine. They all look exactly the same to me.
You really can't unless you have a sharp eye when it comes to their different lines of bikes. It's easy to tell a monster from a hypermotard but distinguishing monsters from other monsters can be tough since some of them involve literally just reusing the frame and putting a different engine and electronics suite in it. The 696 is easier to spot when you give it a good look around because it's their entry-level model and I think is the only monster with a double sided swingarm.
I actually asked a lot of questions and the guy not only had answers, but service receipts to prove everything. He lived in an extremely rich part of town and was older, said he just doesn't ride anymore and his wife is making him sell it. Bought the bike as a toy and only put 1k miles on it before garaging it for almost a year (hence the new battery). Insisted on getting a full service before letting anyone buy it, didn't add anymore to the price even though it was a 700 dollar service. Also threw in the white fairing set, which I intend on putting on. Tried last night, but the allen heads require metric wrenches and mine are SAE, I couldn't get a good fit on a few bolts. It's a 696, I wish it was a 1100 but still happy with the former, haha.
Still an awesome bike. By the looks of it, in spectacular condition too. Mine was so neglected when I found it that I literally spent the price of the bike just fixing it up and restoring it.
I did it. I fucking did it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/FkYvXRW.jpg[/t] I actually managed to bend the frame until it was mostly square. Comparison to what it was like before: [t]http://i.imgur.com/bpViVxE.jpg[/t]

Ah the fun continues. For the now I'm going to keep the rims on the Celica so I don't have to buy an expensive rim/tire combo. But I ran into an issue. I was putting the front rims on and went to torque them.. I went around about 5 times and they just kept going further each time before the torque wrench clicked. So. Then something clicked in my head. The rim's center bore was slightly too small and I was forcing it onto the hub's conical shape. Yikes. It took a decent amount of beating with a hammer to get it off. Scary, but it came off without much drama. So that means I had to 'fix' the center bore issue. There was only a small lip that had to be dealt with. What tool to use but a router with a flush trim bit?! Made a mess And a nice flat center bore that now fits. BUT. Now there's another issue. The rim hits the strut tube. Ha. It means I gotta order spacers sooner than later. 1" should do it.. a little more aggressive stance and the clearance needed for the strut. I could go thinner.. but why bother? 2" Spacer would put these rims flush with the outside of the fender flare, which would be excellent stance. But then I'd need to worry about new tires to get a good stretch to clear appropriately, and probably would have to cut the body behind the flares a bit. That's OK, I'll stick with 1" for now. My grant hub and horn adapter bits came in today, too. FINALLY I get my big old retro wheel in there. Excited to actually drive with it. Dash pad cover is on now, too. I think the rationale was that I wanted to just sand down the rust on the hood and stop it from rusting with anything. It worked. I don't know why I did THAT
got a new phone and it doesn't fit in my cupholder while the old one fit perfectly shieeeet, maybe I'll use sandpaper or some shit to try make it large enough since I don't use it for drinks at all.
You just quoted him
Oh, oops. I initially thought it was him, but saw Araknid's post and thought they were implying that it was a different owner (and that they would know that, since I don't follow this thread as much).
I'm liking this a lot [t]https://puu.sh/wVp7y.png[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/wVp6q.png[/t] What I've done so far: Headunit with DAB+ Speakers all around Speaker cables to the doors New power window regulator front passenger side Fixed a stone chip in the windshield Welded new door sill driver side Welded section behind rear driver side wheel Lenghtened rear driveshaft New front brakes Filled oil leak stop thing on engine and transmission What I have left: Take off bumpers and repaint Grind rear bumper so I have more clearance to the body on the sides Repaint where the rear bumper has scratched the sides Front right U-joint Welding passenger side door sill Paint grill Change to white indicators Change rear brakes including handbrake wires Front brake lines Retint rear window and tint rear side windows In total I have spent about 7000 NOK on parts and stuff. Still less total for the entire car and parts than the entire car was priced originally.
How do you even get that much done in that little time? I'm excited if I manage to change a few light bulbs in a day.
Holy deep fried bird shit on a shingle, how fucking stupid can people get? I was on my cx, 2 or 3 cars behind a dump truck going down the interstate, and the fucker dumps probably 500lbs of coarse gravel just going down the road. I fishtailed a bit going through it, but if I would been behind him I probably would have gone down. He dumped another load coming off of the red light at the off ramp. Im glad i could pass him and send him off with a proper salute. I get that everyone makes mistakes, but mother of fucking crocodile shrimp if you get in a dump truck without securing your load, and head down the highway, you are straight up endangering lives.
Honestly this should get you charged with manslaughter. A ladder fell off a truck last year and almost flew through my windshield and killed me. I'm so close to buying this Lexus. Just a few more paychecks and it'll be mine ! [editline]28th July 2017[/editline] I can almost taste it
I borrowed a 2004 dodge caravan and drove it for over an hour, and i've concluded they are the worst fucking things to drive. If there was a body roll competition it would win.
You know its a minivan right? Not like... a racecar.
Talk shit about Caravans all you want, but that low ass gearing and engine design will let you rip burnouts pretty well if you stomp on it. And they're sooooo smooth. Like driving a pillow.
Unsung hero of American families
When you wanna hot rod your minivans. Lol. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YPN3qPaCPzgakVG4cylm-e_rr7gtCTRD7hN4oyWi1qg/edit?usp=sharing Took me lots of time to make that.
Old station wagons make better sleepers than old minivans since you can just cram standard V8 hot rod parts on and they're rear wheel drive.
Old station wagons make better sleepers than old minivans since you can just cram standard V8 hot rod parts on and they're rear wheel drive.
Most stationwagons are also designed with long distance commuting in mind, so well suited for highway/motorway/autobahn and countryside driving.

caravan spins the wrong wheels therefor it's shit

The 3.8 V6 does the job moving 5 adults and a bunch of cargo. You really can't complain. It does exactly what it's designed to do. Be a people and cargo mover.
does the paranoid feeling that you're slowly eating up the last remnants of your transmission and clutch go away with time and experience i've been driving standard trans cars so far for about a year all over 160k miles on the original clutch, and something inside me dies every time I let my foot slip and accidentally take off at 2000rpm or second gear makes a funny sound for no reason it's so bad that I really just want to sell my RSX to get another automatic Fit again to have the courage to go racing
So I started work at my 4th shop this last monday and nearly all week we have been chasing down an overheating issue on an 88 Volvo 240DL. Runs (or ran) rich as fuck, dirty MAF Compression tests result in 150PSI across the board ULTRA clean oem waterpump, which floored me because they are usually mucked up with shit being that old Rusty, broken front turn lenses and bad bulbs Has ICE FUCKING COLD AC which is really nice being its so mother fucking hot out. 10/10 Would Hoon slightly again (sand in the road nearby whilst trying to make it over heat)
Question, first time I have ever had to do cooling system work. I replacing a leaky coolant hose on my bike. I got the end the connects to the engine on completely, but I can't get the end that goes to the water pump on the fitting. It's the correct hose, I compared it to the old one but it's L shaped, only about 5 inches and is in a space about the size of my fist so I don't have much space to strong arm it on. Any tips to get hoses on easier? It's so damn tight.I can't get it over the flared edge.
