Welcome to Colorado!
why can't you drive the bmw on the street? nothing on it that'd be illegal here
No emissions, no airbags, not registered for street use, I'm sure there's dozens of other things that would keep it off the road anywhere that requires inspections.
Also would you want to roadtrip a finely tuned racecar in traffic? Not only would it be miserable from the exhaust, rock hard seats, heavy clutch, grabby brakes, and lack of creature comforts, but as a low-slung car with highly tuned suspension, it'd probably get all misaligned in the rigors of driving on normal roads.
oo boys my 7lb flywheel came for my e30

the finest piece of metal i've held in a long time
Well I just lost a quarter of my bumper to highway debris on my Hyundai, 2 days after dropping a good bit on breaks. Anyone here know some good body shops in the Denver area? Preferably northwest.
Hey lads, I know this is a weird first post but I'm barreling down the Autobahn near Munich on a 1985 french shitbox and noticed this while pumping gas

Can I still reach Poland or should I get it checked ASAP? Pls respond quickly, connection is shit here
If you can't see wire you're probably fine but I would keep a very close eye on it and don't go too fast. If it's on a drive wheel you might just want to put a spare on though. Replace ASAP either way, like when you get to Poland.

whether you want to or not is a different story entirely

I've got 20k on one of my tires with worse sidewall damage. you'll probably live, but if it makes you feel better it can't hurt to get it replaced, since it's a little on the bald side anyway.

My country is really strict on cars.
I would NEVER be able to get this car registered for the road again unless I completely rebuild it as normal car, and then have it rechecked.
Which is a real pain in the ass for rally drivers here, rally cars NEED to be checked the same way as road cars. This is due to them driving short distances on the road between rally stages.
Advice for removing slight overspray off a tire?
Haven't cleaned my truck since November, it feels sooo good to finally have it clean.

it'll come off on it's own soon enough anyway, but if you want to speed it up you can use some of this and a brass brush to get it off.
Advice for removing slight overspray off a tire?
Go find a area where you can parallel park and do it afew times, it will eventually come off.
Just now at 10pm it dropped below 80f. Tomorrow's gonna be a hot one
Alright lads, thanks for the advice. We're now in Salzburg after camping near a lake with two E X T R A T H I C C hitchhikers with a certain disdain for clothes, so I was a bit too busy to worry about my tires, namsayin?
Anyway we'll be looking for a tire shop and hopefully they have something at least similar to this old obscure shitbox's tires. Wish us luck.
[editline]2nd August 2017[/editline]
Oh and, Campin Carl is my co-pilot so if any of you live on the Austria-Czechia-Polen line and want to improvise an international FP meetup, it'd be fine for us.
[editline]2nd August 2017[/editline]
UPDATE: ordered two new front tires. We have to remain an extra day in Austria but at least they're fairly cheap here and they deliver quickly.
Also it's better than just blowing a tire on a highway and die burning and screaming. Witness, valhalla, whatever. The thicc hitchhikers were engaged and didn't put out, and I'd rather survive at least until we visit a Czech brothel.

This post was an adventure.
This post was an adventure.
The real adventure is embarking on a Italy-Poland road trip on a complete shitbox because my E36 316i suddenly displayed serious cooling issues the day before we planned to ride out.
The rest is just the standard road trip: meeting random people, sleeping in random places, and slowly becoming a gypsy pirate.
Oh well, at least my R9 got to hit 160kph for the first time in her long life (while fully loaded no less, and with the speedo topping at 180).
Adventure, bitchez :v:
Wanted to do something different. Bought and modded a new wheel. Added some buttons and logo. It's a Dutch brand who buys wheels from the Momo factory in Italy.

Working on that too!

I accidentally discovered how to remove the airbag warning while cleaning a junkyard visor :v:

I embraced my inner picker and picked up 2 motors today. One is a partially complete VVT 1.8 Miata engine (missing oil pan, cams, and VVT actuators), the other is a mostly complete, but all disassembled BMW e30 engine. It's pretty dirty, but seems all the major components are there. He even gave me new pistons he never installed.
I don't know if I just picked up a load of shit, or if I can make any sort of profit off these parts. All I can say is I saw potential in them.
Also picked up Miata M edition door sills, and 2 BMW 14x6/6.5 e30 wheels. The wheels seem stupid strong but also light. He told me people love em for rallycross. If I can find another matching two perhaps the set will sell?
Swapping the VVT 1.8 in to my 1.6 is a bit of a bitch apparently, the harness is the biggest hurdle. I read some shit about the immobilizer too. I guess my best chances are rebuild it and sell or part it out and scrap stuff that a person wouldn't normally need.
A high of 104f today and it's hazy from all the smoke coming down from Canada from all the wild fires

looks great! i'm hoping to run a renown wheel in my e30, i think it's only a guy(s?) in CA that hand stitches everything. the 100 with motorsport color stitching looks real nice

So when I bought my bike new a few months ago I decided to get an official Honda top box at the same time so it could share the same key as the bike.
[t]https://puu.sh/wi1WZ/f01fce8ebf.jpg[/t]
Well I came out of my hair dressers yesterday and as I take my helmet out of the top box and lock it I go to take the key out and and the lock comes out with it. My first thought was oh shit if the key is stuck i'm gonna have to leave the bike to go home and get the spare but thankfully the key still comes out. I can still put the lock where it goes in the top box and lock and unlock it but the lock doesn't stay in. Whatever held it in place has broken. Gonna have to email the Honda dealership about a replacement lock or box now.
[t]https://puu.sh/wZNiQ/5e949fcb36.jpg[/t]
Have only been using it a couple months and don't think I have been all that rough with it. Expected it to be more sturdy than that. Wondering if a third party accessory like the Givi boxes would hold up better or if they are about the same if this happens in future to the replacement.
Got some new alloys for my 190E.
Just need some hub centering rings, the correct lug bolts, a few clear coat repairs, and some nice rubber and I'll be set or next spring.

Where is the camber?
Where is the fitment?
we don't wana see 4x4 stance
I have come to the conclusion that the previous owner just did not give a fuck
I have been steam cleaning the carpets all day and by the end I was still getting pitch black coffee in my Bissel
So if I transfer to Phoenix, I've already decided on my new project.

So the Dart runs fucking beautifully. But it doesn't drive. I took the trans pan off after dumping 12 qts of atf I just bought to take it off- and took the valve body out. Only thing I could see wrong was they had put two check balls into one tub. I don't know if that would effect having 0 gears or not, but I guess I'll find out. I already air valve checked the whole trans and it clicks both pistons just fine. The linkages were all hooked up and moving, tqc was seated, etc... totally weird. but based on previous owner's ability to rebuild an engine, I may be wise to take the trans rebuild apart too...

99% of branded accessories (across all bike manufacturers) seem to be absolute garbage. Givi stuff is pretty robust - I'd just get a refund, buy something else and deal with the extra key.

Rooster comb is seated good and has the 4 spool switch valve on the end of it? Detent ball is in as well so it "clicks" through the gears?
Little drag racer trick, put John Deere Hygard fluid in it for a little extra stall. It also has a higher burnoff point compared to most high end magic ATF's
Would really appreciate some suggestions, I am thinking about getting some black rims for my Red F150 tax. Anyone got a suggestion for a quality brand that won't break the bank? I currently have 20s right now. I was thinking of going a little bigger but not tot he point of looking like some douche bag redneck. I already have camo seat covers so I got that covered.
