You will be literally less cool

Oh and people can clearly see you pick your nose while driving
Winter is around the corner so I think I'm good
The nose picking thing is a real con though
Going green (or some other color) around the lower part of the car (following the body lines) could look really cool. Have you thought about two-toning it like that at all, or do you want to stick to pure white?
I did,
But honestly I just want the fucker to be done so I can race again :v:
Being the shitbox loving person I am, a while back I purchased an 1983 Honda Accord Hatchback. I love the car to death, but it's a complete lemon. Currently it seems to be leaking coolant into it's oil, making the whole thing smoke. I really want to see it back on the road again, rather than just scraping it. I also kinda want to use it to learn how to work on cars.
Is the EK1 engine a good engine to learn how to rebuild engines with?
Also what sort of tools should I look into investing in?

ductape and zipties. Trust me I work with racecars, these are handsdown the most used items.

The best tool I ever found: Youtube. Especially for a common vehicle like an accord, youre going to have a video about doing anything to that vehicle.

You almost certainly won't need to rebuild the whole engine unless it was treated like total garbage. Sounds like your head gasket is blown and in the case of Honda's in-line fours means the head is probably warped, too.
You'll need to replace both, which is actually fairly straightforward if the EK series is anything like the D series.
I'd probably send the head to a machine shop first and have them look at it before just outright replacing it. If they tell you it's mega warped, consider getting the block deck machined. Or just chuck in a head gasket and hope for the best

Feeler gauge and a good straightedge.
But if a machine shop would check for warpage and afterwards do a full leak testing of the head for cheap if it isn't warped, then let them handle the head and only measure the block yourself.
It's rare that short (4 cylinder and fewer) cast iron blocks are warped in any noticeable way.
I know we got some BMW people in here.
How is the part availability for an E24 6 series in the USA? I think I found a pretty sweet deal on a 630csi.
I passed my apprenticeship test thing with the best result :excited:
I am officially a professional car body mechanic

ECSTuning, PelicanParts, and FCPEuro should have everything you'd need for it. I see 635csi's pop up frequently in my area

Sweet. Think I might jump on it then
Anyone know why tint removal is so expensive? The cheapest quote around here for back window removal only was $90. I did it in like 10 minutes with a $20 steamer, no residue left.
Do they do some different method or is it just expensive because reasons?

I saw a fucking Toyota Sienna with a Jaguar-looking front end exactly like that. It was a taxi of some sort with all the vehicle badging removed
Can be a pain in the ads if the tint is dryrotted

I have all data available to me and from what I can see it looks to be fairly straight forward, closed deck so thats good.
If you need a procedure to pull the head just ask, I'll post screens from the program. Just don't tell Alldata, dont want them bitching about sharing their images. ;)
Cool, the tabs holding my front license plate mount broke. Guess I'm running without a front plate now
solution: move to a state that doesn't require front plates
I live in one, I have a front plate but I've never met anyone pulled over for not having it. I'll just stick it up on my dash

I haven't even had my front plate inside my car, let alone on it, in california for well over a year now. Even when I've been pulled over they haven't mentioned it at all.

Could always zip tie it to the front somewhere if you really want it there
Naw I'd rather stick it on my dash
