Today was pretty fucking awesome. I drove 2 hours to meet someone who's racecar had been having issues. (The owner was a garage owner actually) Took me about 5 hours to find the problem, with was some issue with the wiring, fuel pressure and piping. Fixed it and it ran fantastic again. He was so damn happy, he gifted me 2 full sets of racing slicks, and those are pretty damn expensive. To top it off, he walked me to one of the 4 collumn car bridges and said "we're moving to a bigger place, you can have that one if you want" Aaaaaaaàaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

There's no accounting for taste. The fab work is, well, fab. But jesus, that's ugly.
I can kinda see where he was going with it, but yeah that's not a good look.
it wasn't a good look on the original car but if they liked it there I'm sure they like it on the truck too
Ordered a new distributor rotor+cap to replace my 18-year-old original one. This comes after having growing issues with starting with a hot engine and a more-rough idle. Should take 10 minutes to replace. Which means its going to take 4 hours after the hex screws will undoubtably strip.
I wanna pull the seat out of a car at the wreckers and make an office chair out of it. What would you guys recommend as being comfy af for this? List of all the cars the place has. http://autowreckers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/Self-Serve-Vehicles.pdf
any statesman built in or after '99 has pretty comfy seats, but they're pretty heavy, as are most car seats.
Need some advice. Going to look at a 1986 Mercedes 300SE today that has 140k miles and was imported from South Korea 16 years ago. The owner has been unable to register the car as he only got a Vermont bill of sale from the previous owner and lives in Delaware (registration and bill of sale both required for out of state vehicles pretty much everywhere). The previous owner either cannot be contacted or wants to help resolve this matter about as much as he'd like to contract Ebola. The car has a clean Carfax, NCIB does not show it as stolen, and overall it appears to be a really nice and well cared for car, and at a very low price (commensurate with the document issue). Anyone have any idea how to fix this car's problem? Otherwise it will end up being scrapped.

You said registration, though the prior registration means nothing, its the title. If so, there are a few ways to get it. State laws vary. Some allow you to file an abandoned vehicle claim. After such an amount of days on your property, it would be yours. Others, you can file a lost title claim. It would come back in the former owners name, however. This is assuming it was properly imported and not just a black market car.

Vermont would not have titled the car as it was older than 15 years old by the time the guy in Vermont registered it.
Got my digital dashboard up and working. It's officially made for karts, and everyone kept yelling that it wouldn't work on cars. But it works! Shiftlights and rpm counter Water temp including warning lights Fuel level Laptimer with infared beacon which circuits use Bunch of other 0-5volt analog inputs i can program Datalogging And a bunch of other shit. Which is really cool for the money

After todays work, the car runs better then ever! [sp]sorry for spam <3[/sp]
So the 630csi had a M30B34 swapped in, not the B35. Still thinking about jumping on it

Once you get it on the track you need a title like "Owns an actual fucking racecar" or something
I need sense talked into me. I sort of want a faster bike ever since I got beat by both an older ZX-6R and a Gallardo convertible last week mucking about on an empty stretch of road, even though I am happy riding this and would have no practical (legal) use for the speed outside of a novel track day. I should be content knowing that I was competitive and actually faster than both for the first ~1,000 feet with only an air cooled 4-valve twin, but they quickly caught up and walked by. Regardless, bike isn't meant to be that, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't keep thinking about what if. Also doesn't help that used liter bikes these days can be had for chump change. Even see 1199's occasionally go for sub-$10k with low miles.

He loves the low end torque/gearing of the monster and I shit my pants trying not to die hitting triple digits just breathing on the throttle. It's an exhilarating experience every time, but I don't really have the need for speed. He commutes on the thing, even through the rain (+ occasional snow) and rides it like an absolute madman on some secluded country roads we've found. If you can find a good deal, I don't see why not. The number of bikes you need will always be what you have + 1.

my brother and i were changing the radiator on my lancer and one of the bolts snapped in the support frame when he tried to loosen it. any tips on how to get the threaded part of the bolt out?
can't get at it with vise grips, an easy out, or weld a nut on it?

I have a Bonneville which is plenty fast enough (especially in a straight line) but every now and then it's nice to swap it up for something for something a little less.... foot draggy in the corners (the other option rather than friends of course is test riding bikes, if that works in the US anything like it does in the UK where they just give you a bike for 2 hours) Rode this thing recently and it really is incredible. I know I'd die if I owned one though.
can't get at it with vise grips, an easy out, or weld a nut on it?
not with the tools i have here but i definitely know someone who will. it must have been untouched for 10 years or something because it was super brittle, he didn't even apply much force and it just slipped off.

I looked at prices for limited slip differentials for my 316 and it turns out they cost nearly as much as the entire car. Granted I paid 1400 yuros for it, but dang. I just wanted a cheap drifter and instead I got sadness and poverty. :v: The thing doesn't even have the button to disable traction control, I could just take out the fuze but that also disables ABS and I've been told that's a quick method to end up in a ditch. Am I really out of my luck if I want to drive a bit sideways without spending a fortune and/or a month in the ER?
(the other option rather than friends of course is test riding bikes, if that works in the US anything like it does in the UK where they just give you a bike for 2 hours)
I wish that were the case. The dealerships in my area make you go through all of the paperwork for buying the bike before they let you test ride it. It's pretty bullshit. They claim if you don't like it, they'll just shred the paperwork when you get back, but a local dealership has been reported to do some sketchy ass shit like telling people too bad so sad you own the bike now. Funnily enough, Ducati and BMW are the only dealerships around here that encourage test rides because they know you'll fall in love and that big price tag won't be as much of an issue. I was picking up a part from the Ducati dealership the other day and they convinced a dude who walked in just to buy some merch to buy a 1199 because he sat on it for shits and giggles and they said, "Go have fun," after handing him the keys. Came back ready to sign paperwork. The best thing we have here is some dealerships do test ride events, I went to a Suzuki one not long ago and rode a SV650, GSX-R 750, and V-Strom 1000. Was a pretty good time.

Triumph keep inviting me to test ride their new bikes even though I only bought mine from them last summer and they know I have absolutely no intention of buying one another one in the immediate future - they say it just keeps people coming back to buy another eventually. I need to find a suzuki dealership, I've been vaguely contemplating a gsxr 600, although I'd probably go for an older model. What was the 750 like?
