How much did it cost?
MSRP for this spec would've been $180k. Today, it'd be around $90k used. [Sp]I bought it for $35k.[/sp]
Does Tesla still support the Roadster? Is it compatible with current spec battery chargers and what kind of range do you get?
Does Tesla still support the Roadster? Is it compatible with current spec battery chargers and what kind of range do you get?
They still support it to a very limited extent. A handful of service centers will still work on them and Tesla does still offer a few accessories and services, like the recent battery upgrade. Stock range is about 250 miles, 340 when upgraded. Compared to modern Teslas though, they're totally obsolete. 0-60 is ~1.3 seconds slower than a Model S P100D (and the MSRP would've been $40k more expensive), seats two tightly, trunk space of a Gallardo, and the tech under the hood is like comparing a Raspberry Pi to a MacBook Pro. It also predates the supercharger network which means painfully slow charging - though a third party does offer a CHAdeMO network retrofit for comparable charge speed to a supercharger. The real charm in the Roadster is that due to the relative simplicity of its parts, it still has a strong core fanbase that have figured out how to fully service the cars themselves and actively advise new owners and post guides. Because of this, despite almost every Roadster on the road being out of warranty, it's still feasible to use one as a daily driver. The Roadster sits in a sort of limbo where it's very computerized, but still has the feel and character of a sporty two door convertible. The result is what feels like a street legal electric go-kart. The community treats these as though they're the "first classics of the future" given Tesla's impact on the industry, and I tend to agree.
fuck me, that's theft m8 :v:

how long before the dealer puts out a kill order for the steal of the millenium
There are still deals to be had if you know where to look.
Jesus Christ. Just saw this on a car repair shop's facebook page: [t]https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/20901350_1790055707702025_2109217611351091082_o.jpg?oh=2ead24992e74539d482a65876e917d7d&oe=5A2073C2[/t] This is a Jaguar XK8 Coupé. The battery was dead, and it's located in the electrically opened trunk. There's a small keyhole behind the right rear light to open it manually, but the owner didn't know. He decided to just grind the entire trunk keyhole out. What a massive waste of a car. They don't deliver those new anymore, so he's fucked. [t]https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/20861976_1790055657702030_45031717873656127_o.jpg?oh=31843ff3fe8e5f8fff6b81137c9d9b9a&oe=5A2CF3CC[/t] If the owner just read the manual, this wouldn't have happened.
They could also just make the manual release actually visible instead of hidden.
They could also just make the manual release actually visible instead of hidden.
It's not really hidden. It's in plain sight: [t]https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/20900895_1790055661035363_6167680353184227656_o.jpg?oh=c8f414cff1ef48df06405f758c708731&oe=5A22EBA2[/t]

So my dad decided that for our next car, we would bring one over from the States as used car prices there are much, much better. I'm deadset on this 2000 Nissan Xterra on Solar Yellow (my favorite color) for $2,200 in Anaheim, what do you guys think? [t]https://images.craigslist.org/00W0W_kDO226zRzZh_600x450.jpg[/t][t]https://images.craigslist.org/00202_cX1v8oBPrdJ_600x450.jpg[/t] I'm kinda biased towards it because my favorite show is The Sopranos and this was a major car in that show.
KA24 or the V6? Stick? Regardless, that looks like a steal for $2200 on exterior condition alone.
KA24 or the V6? Stick? Regardless, that looks like a steal for $2200 on exterior condition alone.
3.3 liter V6, automatic.
Ehh, it hurts to look at but the car isn't totaled. Especially because the damage is under the license plate.
3.3 liter V6, automatic.
Mileage? Original owner? Good maintenance records?
Mileage? Original owner? Good maintenance records?
Well unfortunately, all the listing contained was contact info. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/d/2000-nissan-xterra/6271083645.html Couldn't even run a VIN check since the plate was censored.
Ah. in my opinion. if one of these is true than I'd say offer $2000 USD and go for it. Mileage under 150k miles Original Owner / Family Owned since new Frequent Oil change receipts and maintenance. I'm pretty sure the V6 has a timing chain so no worries about timing belts. [editline]20th August 2017[/editline] Just saw link, 200k miles is a bit high and there is light body damage. I'd buy at $1800 USD max
You haven't heard about motorcycle licensing in the states, have you? You know that part of your riding test you did on a closed course? That's about what they do in the states, and as long as you don't crash you pass. The whole judging bikes by their capacity is quite flawed anyways. I've got a 650 and a 690, the 650 puts out 50hp and is quite nice and mellow. The 690 has 67 and is a bit of a handful. You also have my mate's 650 i4 which is quite a kitten really. I wouldn't really recommend a sportsbike for any new rider, they're made to be freaking fast, not be comfortable or easy to ride. If you don't feel attracted to any special type of bike (adventure/touring/supermoto/cruiser) then I'd recommend some kind of a naked. They're the most neutral of motorcycles, with decent comfort, power and handling. [editline]20th August 2017[/editline] People have done it and lived. But people have also done it and died. A high power bike might also make learning to ride properly more difficult, as you'll need to focus more on being careful with the controls. My 690 is in a different league entirely to my 650 in pretty much everything but especially brakes and power. The 650 I can just putter down to the shops or go for a cruise on. The 690 requires your full attention ( at the same time as it dares you to ride it hard ) With less power and an overall more forgiving bike you can focus on proper riding technique rather than trying to manhandle the bike.
Yeah, going by engine size can be a bit misleading. My 1100 Honda Shadow is comparatively not putting out crazy HP numbers, maybe 60-70 HP. Being a cruiser, its more about torque, and it has plenty. Its meant for going down the highway at 55-75 mph easy for miles on end. That said it has no problem hitting 100, if you really want to.
So my cousin is giving me a ride home in his Passat and he hit a ditch last night and bashed his oil pan. The thing is absolutely pissing oil and we've got about 350 miles to go on it. [editline]20th August 2017[/editline] And the part of the pan that got holed is behind the plastic bullshit plate that's supposed to protect the oil pan, so we've gotta find sockets to get this thing out.

Been there done that in the Autozone parking lot.
Visited TWO car shows today! I just bought a Nikon d7000 with 4 lenses off my friend last night. Decided to play with it today, essentially winging it because I had never really used a DSLR before. All I can say is using photo mode for hours and hours in Gran Turismo and Assetto Corsa definitely helped me build a basic understanding of photography. That and just me being to adapt to the manual nature of the camera and lenses helped me get some decent shots. Let me know what I can improve on, I mostly shot these with a 50mm and 17-35mm zoom lens. Not to highjack things and turn this in to a photography thread. Bought a 2dr '74 Scamp for 3k. 360ci 2brl factory disc brakes.Gonna see how it goes I really wanna throw my 440 into it.Parting out the New Yorker.
Going to be around $250 for the full motorcycle endorsement. Plus gear cost. I'm pretty stoked. I'll probably buy a bike in September and practice a bit before winter. Have to wait till April to get into the class however
Wow shit's expensive were you are I paid 20 for the basic rider course through IDOT in illinois. buying a bike/practicing before the class is definitely a good idea especially if they let you bring your own bike to the class.
Luckily, the military covers the price of the basic and advanced MSF rider courses, as well as giving us priority in the class signups. There's really no reason not to get a motorcycle endorsement in the military, your command is forced to let you miss work for it and it's free ninety-nine.
$20 for a bike riding course? It costs about €900 in the Netherlands. 12 hours driving on the road, a theoretical exam and a practical exam. How can you even propely educate someone about just the rules for $20?
