$20 for a bike riding course? It costs about €900 in the Netherlands. 12 hours driving on the road, a theoretical exam and a practical exam.
How can you even propely educate someone about just the rules for $20?
it's done through the illinois dept of transportation 20$ is just the suggested donation technically the class is free. 8 hours class time 12 hours on bike/practical training a written and practical exam at the end
How
grants from the state to community colleges for it it's about the only thing Illinois doesn't fuck it's citizens on

Couple of mates of mine recently finished intensive courses for getting their class A2 (max 48hp), totaled around $3200... Then there's another $1000 in two years when we want to get our full licenses.
It cost me a full nothing to get my motorcycle license. Because I work at a bike dealership that has a msf course.
America.
holy hell 3200$ for a restricted license? Did it come with a blowjob as well? cause foreplay is important before the fucking
just a crack or a full on hole? if a crack slop some jb weld on it and roll. if it's a hole were talking then hit up the home depot and get some sheel metal and tin snips, jb that over the hole. throw some pop rivets in for good measure if you feel like it
I once put a rod out the block on a 4 cylinder toyota whIle hooning in the woods. jb welded a bit of the door skin on the hole, pulled the head, removed the guts of the offending cylinder, left that spark plug lead off, and made it back to the highway where I wouldn't have to pay out the ass for an off road rescue. then called AAA to get me home before sundown.
moral of the story is jb weld works miracles
Yeah it was a small crack. Drained the oil, JB-welded it, slapped some duct tape on top of that because why not, and the car survived just fine.
Wow shit's expensive were you are I paid 20 for the basic rider course through IDOT in illinois. buying a bike/practicing before the class is definitely a good idea especially if they let you bring your own bike to the class.
$21 for the permit
~$200 for the course
~$20 for the license renewal
Could skip the course and do the road test only for a fraction of the cost, but the course is great for people like me who have never rode a motorcycle before. They go through basic and advanced skills. And the bike which is big part.
I spent $250 to do an advanced course once, and I get to return to the class whenever I want for free for life if I ever feel I need to brush up on anything. I think its like an extra $5 to get a motorcycle endorsement here. don't remember exactly because I get 8 year licenses and am on year 7
Ah. in my opinion. if one of these is true than I'd say offer $2000 USD and go for it.
Mileage under 150k miles
Original Owner / Family Owned since new
Frequent Oil change receipts and maintenance. I'm pretty sure the V6 has a timing chain so no worries about timing belts.
[editline]20th August 2017[/editline]
Just saw link, 200k miles is a bit high and there is light body damage. I'd buy at $1800 USD max
My buddy has had 2 of those, that I've worked on for him. That generation Xterra has timing belts.
This weekend I loaded up my F250, borrowed a trailer, and headed out to the black hills for some dirtbiking

My 86 XL250R performed flawlessly this year, I took the wheels off and cleaned out the brakes ahead of time this year.
As for the truck, the heater core exploded 5 miles out, coolant all over the interior. I pulled over and blocked both heater core hoses with a spare hitch pin. There was a 10% grade and a few 8% grades coming out of rapid city, and with the camper and trailer, my guesstimation was that it weighed around 9000lbs. It was about as fun as youd think. We decided to camp abut a mile up an ATV trail, complete with small logs, ruts, and lots of rocks. It pulled up that no problem. On the way back, the low beam wiring went out, so I drove about 2 hours with high beams, and it averaged around 11mpg.
I fucking love driving this thing. It takes about 10 minutes to get up to speed, and would be certain death if I had to stop quickly, but I was still passing newer pickups at 75mph all day. It may be low geared, but itll sit at 3k rpms for hours with no complaint. I love sitting in the plush 80s bench seat, I love looking down the hood at the road, I love jamming gears, I love giving it the beans up a hill and making a bunch of nasty N/A diesel noises. I love taking it on roadtrips, maybe even more than the vic.

things that make you go bwuuuuhhhh. Be me in the parking lot of advance and see two chuckle fucks both of which were pushing their truck (no one working the brakes or ya know steering.....) 15 foot from the set of ramps they have so they can get a running start to push it up the ramps. the only words I could get to come out of my mouth is "JESUS FUCK NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!" ended up using the winch to drag it up on the ramps so tweedle dum and tweedle dee didn't kill themselves or others
So Scamp made it home the 360 burns ALOT of oil but thats fine not keeping it in there.
I suddenly kinda want to get a motorcycle license and some cheap beater bike.
going for motorcycle rides with my dad would be pretty fun.
What are some good starter bikes (not scooters), up to 260cc (learner permit limitations) so I could get some sort of idea of the type of shit I could have?
preferably touring/sport touring.
[editline]a[/editline]
well some that are up to 660cc are allowed

If you live in a somewhat rural area, Id really suggest a dual sport 250. Its still as anemic as any other 250 on the roads, perhaps even more, but you wont get bored of it as long as youve got a place to have fun off road. My xl250 only had about 20 horsepower 30 years ago, and thats really all it needs off road. I just wish there were more places around my house to ride.
AU's learner permit list is weird "yeah you can have bikes up to 260CC oh and also ducati monsters KTM dukes/525EXC's and triumph street triples" uhhhhh whut?
While I'm not advocating joe rocket the new highschool hotshot to go buy an R1 as his first bike, limiting riders by cc has always ticked me off. I feel it is even more dangerous having a bike that can barely cruise at a highway speed limit than just having a reasonably fast bike. Although rare, I've had a situation where I needed to hard throttle my way out of a bad situation, e.g. I was stopped alone at an intersection, car coming up behind me, my light turns green, car doesn't seem to want to fucking slow down, I gun it and he slams his brakes at the last possible second (was probably texting) both actions barely saving me from being destroyed. Similar thing happened on the highway as well by someone crossing three lanes of traffic while driving like a mong 20mph over the speed limit behind me, but he clearly didn't see me across three fucking lanes of traffic while I was passing a car. I had to gun it into the median brake down lane while he panic swerved right up my ass beside me, then drove off again like a looney.

I quite like my F650GS. 37kw, very forgiving bike, easy to handle. Luggage looks good on it, touring on it is nice. Pretty much the same engine and chassis has been used since the 90s and can still be bought today so you know it's reliable. With some offroad oriented tyres they're also decent off road.
There's also quite a community of F650 riders online, with tips for improving the bikes or fixing them.
How do I remove old hardened out rear window sealer gunk that was between the rubber and the car its self?
its like some kind of plastic and its driving me insane, its in all the nooks and cranny's and its NEEDS TO BE GONE
Alright. So I've cleaned this cooling system like 50 times now. FINALLY GOT IT CLEAN. I zip tied the heater core door open, anddddd.... More cleaning again.

That's what my car looks like if you remove the badging on the deck lid. That's not an obvious manual backup.

I drove 300 miles to see the eclipse yesterday. Made it to Casper, WY in 4 hours. Made it back home in 12. That was the worst traffic I have ever seen, and that includes driving into Los Angeles after the 94 Northridge earthquake collapsed half the freeways.
At any given point yesterday, there were more people within 10 miles of me than live in Wyoming.

I simply watched the eclipse on TV, had to work that day.
Anyways, replaced all 32 of my lug nuts, but 'some' aren't staying as tight as they should.
Bought a torque wrench finally, set it to 120ft-lbs, it clicks on the ones that i thought were tight enough. Not sure whats up with the few that are loosening.
I stood in my parking lot and looked up.
Totality was like 70ish miles away but I had to work.

Get a Yamaha v-star/Virago 250! I have one and it's a fucking blast. Pretty quick for a 250 as well. Plus it's a vtwin, so it sounds decent and has good low end torque.

eeeew what is that??
He's probably the first person to clean out the cooling system on his 30+ year old car
I changed the radiator on my ford the other day, what came out wasn't even anywhere near that.
seriously if that was mine I'd just put the hose directly into the heater core and let it run for a while, that's fucking disgusting man.
You should have seen it when I flushed it the first time. It was like some one crushed up a brick and put the dust in the cooling system. 1/4th of the system has been a solid brown material.
