I still think it's a shame Victory went under. I want a High-Ball something fierce.
Oh i totally agree, ive been drooling over victories since i accidentally went to okiboji during a victory rally. Fuckin beautiful bikes.
Ah! Yeah the goal was to build this setup "for free" with stuff we had laying around. The whole build cost a set of 8ga ring terminals and a can of black spray paint. The rest was here. The amp is an MTX fellow that was questionably good in the basement. It turns out it has a hiccup sometimes and pops so he ordered a 1500w Skar amp for the setup. Overall though the setup is awesome! It plays really low and I was worried about porting into the cabin sounding weird, but it's just clean and low. The car flexes a ton, too, for just a basic system. Here's the box getting a covering with misc carpet and stuff we had laying around. (pictures go here)
Damn nice build for things you had laying around. I really like how clean the port is into the armrest. Skar makes good stuff is it a RP1500.1 or an SKv2-1500.1 also has that car had the big 3 done to it or no?
Speaking of motorcycles, here's the new Harley Fatboy. It's so fucking pretty and futuristic. [t]https://i.imgur.com/9zSbapy.jpg[/t]
At first glance I didn't like it, but it's kinda growing on me
What kind of pebble you got? I got a pebble time steel and its almost critical while riding my motorcycle.
The OG Pebble classic. Had to fix the screen tearing flaw, but its otherwise been good for 3 years. Still holds charge for about a week.
The OG Pebble classic. Had to fix the screen tearing flaw, but its otherwise been good for 3 years. Still holds charge for about a week.
I gave my OG to my little brother when I got the time steel. It got the screen tearing and got shelved/lost somewhere
I gave my OG to my little brother when I got the time steel. It got the screen tearing and got shelved/lost somewhere
I was going to get Time 2 then the company essentially went under about the same time. No point in buying one at new prices with no support.
El' Volvo is starting to do some dumb shit. Trans is jumpy and trips over itself a bit (only happens after half an hour of run time, suspected bad fluid), radio / climate control is haunted, and the dash board as of late has contracted electrical gremlins from the haunted house known as the center console. The main one I'm worried about is the dash as I think my DIM has properly shit the bed, because two days ago my dash lit up like a christmas tree and all the gauges started summoning demons. Yesterday night the fucking message center starts working for like 2 minutes after being borked for eons to start telling me "OH HEY BTW YOUR SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM NEEDS ATTENTION ASAP!", which apparently translates to in most cases "yeah your dim is shot". I'm most worried about this because I think it might lead to the whole damn dash going kaput and if that happens or the airbag message keeps up (usually they do apparently), then the inspection nerds come next may certainly aren't going to let that slide. How expensive is this gonna be to fix? 2002 Volvo V70 turbo wagon, according to the 2006 version of the internet it was a 1k repair job and something tells me that depreciation doesn't effect repairs as much. edit: Obligatory electrical gremlin repair music:
I realized the other day that Mr. Regular Car Reviews actually lives in PA and I might send him an email and see if he'd be interested in doing a review on my Magna, since he seems to be on a bike kick lately.
Small update on the racecar. I fitted all polyester parts. I've decided to just make everything fit right, then paint it while it's on the car. Things that still need to be painted -Front fenders -Doors -Trunk -Hood -Both Bumpers Did some wire/hose management [t]http://i.imgur.com/E9B2ZtP.jpg[/t] Lightweight steering column after removing a bunch of shit, and milling down the wheel adapter [t]http://i.imgur.com/50GsVIb.jpg[/t] Fitted the hood, drilled the spots for hood pins. Also properly fitted the polyester headlight covers [t]http://i.imgur.com/TKH3Yy3.jpg[/t] Finished the cooling system and expansion tank. Made a simple bracket to hold it. Still working on getting the wires properly tucked away! [t]http://i.imgur.com/2ZVR7Ap.jpg[/t] Fitment of the doors is "decent". As a coupe (2-door) doesn't have a window frame it's a fucking disaster trying to get a polyester door that has one, and fits right. It just doesn't work. So I've made the best of it but it still kinda sucks. But hey, the original doors weigh like 100 fucking lbs so I'm just fine with a semi decent fit. [t]http://i.imgur.com/71uCVVG.jpg[/t] Also rolled the fenders quite a bit. Still need to go further tho.... still thinking about cutting the entire sidepanel out and putting a polyester overfender on...(gives 3cm extra width) Doors still need door cards on the inside. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ozMscX9.jpg[/t] And some random shots [t]http://i.imgur.com/3YOuOhe.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/oHLklq0.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/gxYST6J.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/7jGZXuP.jpg[/t] If the images are too big, or if I should thumb them please say so.
What is that handle for on the center tunnel?
I use it to cut down the brake pressure to the rear wheels. Using that I can balance the braking power. Very useful for non-ABS racecars
Thumb them dude. Even if I am on a 4k screen, they'll be a pain to scroll past every time a new post comes in :v:
Thumbed them!

So a jaguar representative phoned me today They're opening a new dealer in richmond, and want to display my car as some sort of "evolution of the jaguar sedan" type thing, from the Mark V to the latest XJ. So basically i lend them the car for three days, it gets a free detailing job and i get a brand new jag as a loaner for a few days while my car gets ogled by a buncha rich people. Sounds good to me.
booked my bike learners test for thursday-friday $430 spent to book it, no backing out now
Ahhhh my bumper just arrived it looks fucking great. Here's a sneak peak!

Always end up painting them black.

I love chrome but I've always thought the same on those grilles. It looks great on the showroom floor, not so much outside.
Gonna paint them black!
Gonna paint them black!
I just dipped mine and called it a day. DDM Tuning used to sell black pairs for $30 which was nice, along with e36 M3 kits.
Dashcams are pretty neat. Action happens at 1:15. This happened on the way to my friends house. I like how the guy in the corvette stingray misses disaster by a few seconds and eventually comes back.

some grade A stupid drivers out there used to being babied by their fancy cars, not knowing what to do when something happens
I, too, recently recorded a crash on my dashcam. Not as dramatic as ToastedBread's, though!
Last week there was some really heavy rain and I noticed my headliner was a bit damp in one spot when I went out for lunch during the storm. The car is just over a year old, so wtf. I brought it to VW and they said there was a TSB out for it and mine had the same symptoms, which was "Stress cracks in the sunroof frame". According to the tech, they had a customer who also had a Mk7 Golf with a similar problem that came back three times with the same issue and eventually traded the car in for a Tiguan. The dealer shipped back the busted part and later issued the TSB with a part / kit for an updated frame. I didn't want a sunroof since I live in Northern Ontario and most of the year isn't exactly sunroof friendly anyway, but I ended up with one since they had a car on the lot with all the options I wanted, in the color I wanted with the only extra thing being the sunroof... It's fixed now and it didn't cost anything, but fuck sunroofs.
I've owned one car with a sunroof, and in heavy rain it would leak and pool in the frame, and when I turned to the right, it would all pour down on me.
I've owned one car with a sunroof, and in heavy rain it would leak and pool in the frame, and when I turned to the right, it would all pour down on me.
Why didn't you clean your sunroof drains?
Why didn't you clean your sunroof drains?
Didn't have anything like that. 1989 Pontiac Sunbird
