Uh. From the way my father put it to me when we were installing everything required on the Dart and I asked a similar question, the way he put it was: It's really not that bad if it's a vehicle that could come with it as an option, but if you're by chance working on something old enough as to where it would be more of, I guess an "aftermarket" thing due to it not or wasn't an option, it can be a pain in the ass. I'd imagine most trucks would be simple enough? What kind of trugh?
'87 Toyota Pickup (Hilux in UK) I know they came as an option, and there's clearly bolt patterns in both the block for the pump as well as on the firewall for reservoir, but it's just a straight line from the steering column to the steering box.

It's gonna be a bitch and could take a fuckload of time, so probably worth to find a trashed donor where one of the only OK things is the power steering parts.
Couldn't he grab a rack and pump off a car that uses the same parts? Toyota probably used both the pump and rack on something else.
Yeah, that's what my mechanic was saying was pretty much any Yota from around the time should have fairly easy to use parts to rob and install. I'm just trying to decide if it's something I'll have time to do myself, or if it's worth paying him the thirty bucks to do it for me.
Drove two different gm's with g80's today in the rain. I can slide if I turn my wheel left and bank hard. I one wheel peel if I do it on my left. Fuck these damn peice of shit lockers.
Have you looked into having the suspension shortened? I imagine with you working on cars it would be rather hard to do your job without a license.
I'm trying to get rid of it entirely because their reason for it, and I called to hear the exact reason, is completely nonsense so I explain why in my long letter to the next judge. [editline]5th March 2017[/editline] Also 6 months is the shortest suspension period they will give you.
We haven't had rain here in months, so while driving my truck around this week we had three days of constant on-again-off-again rain. For being a little 4 cylinder, the thing peels so damned easily if I let off the clutch too hard while learning the vehicle. My work van doesn't even do that when it's empty.
On topic of booze, I've never drank in my life, not a drop, split between personal/family reasons and not wanting to rely on alcohol to have a good time or converse confidently. (21 by the way) Ironically I teethed on beer cans while I rolled around in a fisher price car when I was a wee gaffer. Never done any sort of drugs or smoked insurprisingly, I have taken some gnarly pre-workout combinations that should be illegal though :v:
Same here man, I was adopted at birth because my biological family was heavily into drinking and substance abuse. I've been to bars a shit ton of times only cause the local one has kick ass food.
With as much driving as I do in as many backwoods Appalachian towns as I cover, I can promise you that most bars around here have amazing food, in all honesty. Some of them are more worthwhile to eat at than to drink at.
what law did you even supposedly break? from what I remember it was a single vehicle accident that was the road's fault
what law did you even supposedly break? from what I remember it was a single vehicle accident that was the road's fault
sounds like not driving with due care and attention/what they deem suitable for the conditions at the time
black ice isn't something where a safe and reasonable speed does you any good. you can't see it and just all of a sudden your tires and brakes stop doing their job
hey i aint sayin it particularly right, just what seems to be goin on
sounds like not driving with due care and attention/what they deem suitable for the conditions at the time
That's what they're basing it off of but in the letter I explain that I did do test braking, had great tires, used sunglasses because of the sun and that I drove less than the limit because the road was wet ect ect so I did take care and attention to the road conditions. Hopefully the next judge with my letter will see that it was a pure accident, not that I was careless.

[editline]6th March 2017[/editline] But good luck. I got to keep my license when i went 100 in a 60, but that's because the cop was nice.
Had a good time today grabbing brewskies with my buddy. He rides a 2014 Triumph Speedmaster. Then we traded bikes on the way home - his Triumph was hilariously fun to ride. [t]http://i.imgur.com/0bwOTKb.jpg[/t]
Fixed the fuel level sender in the GFs galant. Had three broke wires, all busted a hair short. Had some old headlight connectors in my trunk so I pilfered them for replacments. Now when she drives she won't have to do real-time math to guess where her fuel level is, and hopefully itll save her gas by not having to fill up anytime shes not sure where the level is at. Next would be the charging system gremlin I have yet to pinpoint.
I figured out why the radio was busted in my Sunfire, it turns out that the previous owner didn't know that raising the interior lights knob up until it clicks leaves the lights on, even after the car has been off, so the cabin lights on the rearview mirror were killing the battery. Their solution? Snip the cable to them, which crossed and shorted out, blowing the fuse to the radio which was on the same circuit. Nice work.

The PO of my car had "upgraded" areas, such as installing head rest screens and a center console screen for their kids in the back. When I got the car it had no headrests, a shreadded center console, a broken radio bezel, relays to run the rad fans when the key was turned to on, a different sized tire for each wheel, a full sized tire on a donut rim, a FULL 5 lbs bad of spilled rice in the trunk, melted crayon and food and drug paraphenialia scattered everywhere, blown headgasket, cracked radiator, broken headlight brackets, both laft and right turn signal lights were broke, broken power antenna and badly dented front fenders and hood... That's really not all, lots of front suspention issues, evap issues, egr issues, cooling issues, AC issues the list goes on. Everything listed has been fixed, because stupid mistakes are not something I'm ok living with.

some times the vehicles speaks to you and you just jump without thinking happens
I buy junk because I have exclusively made bad decisions in my life why stop now !!!
Unless you were gifted that car and registration paid for, I see no reason to have acquired that thing.
Heh, I wish it was free, but for 450 straight up on a honda I wasn't gonna pass it up. Besides, I got a massive deal on getting the engine redone and the interior stuff it needed (ie: free) The guys that redid the engine owned a shop (brothers) that did dragsters and high out put engines for a living and when their car broke down I fixed it them for free. Then after helping them with a dodge ram hemi that needed its engine pulled and got their harly davidson golf cart going again after 15 years of sitting, they decided fixing my engine was worth it as payback. I was just doing it because I like fixing cars and shit, couldn't have been happier after the offer. And DP is basically spot on, the Accord spoke to me. It stands out with 2 extra cylinders in a sea of 4 bangers.

I saw a a sub-100k Lumina 3.4 2dr, like the sporty version of my dad's car when I was really young, I really wanted it but they are total pieces of shit, you're lucky to get one to 200k

Thanks for the advice!
Uhh. Now that I've fixed the main boost leak, the BOV being bent, I've been hitting my goal of 18-19psi. And blowing vacuum lines to pieces in the process. I've slowly been replacing all the bad ones. Boosting again to only explode another. I'm half tempted to re-run all of them with the silicon hoses I have. [t]http://i.imgur.com/QfuOfN2.jpg[/t] Also, I sandblasted the V6's exhaust manifold and painted it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/4RY4xMv.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/xUvAoNZ.jpg[/t]
So I was spring cleaning my shitmobile (a cheap 1992 Plymouth Sundance 4-door that got mostly fixed up by my brother), and there's a corner in the hood that has so much dust it looks like an animal got fucking obliterated there. Would a vacuum suffice for cleaning it out or are there any engine parts that are vulnerable to static electricity? I'm not much educated on how engines work, so sorry if this is an obvious question. Edit: Also, is it even worth it to clean out the dust? Is dust detrimental to the car in any way as long as it doesn't get into the engine?
You can vacuum it. Should be fine. Dust is fine in the engine bay too. Ask any one who lives on a gravel road. Their engine bays have a nice THICK coat of limestone dust.
I finally figured out why my car sizzles after going through a puddle. Both my front splash guards are gone so it throws tons of water up onto the exhaust manifold and steams my engine bay. Hey! Free steam cleaning, though!
