Today is the last day I'll drive a manual, or anything with multiple gears. :magic101:
Or anything with any worthwhile range either, heh!
Or anything with any worthwhile range either, heh!
I could get to either the east or west coast on a single charge and it's not even a long range vehicle!
We have states bigger than your country. :v:
Today is the last day I'll drive a manual, or anything with multiple gears. :magic101:
But that's the best part, next to BRAAP BRAAAAAAP
We have states bigger than your country. :v:
Yeah, short range EVs are less of an issue in most places in Europe.
my drive to work is as far as a coast to coast trip through Britain [editline]17th March 2017[/editline] a "long drive" to an American is london to glasgow and back a dozen times
America is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! [editline]17th March 2017[/editline] I mean how long does it take to drive tip to tip in the U.K.? I've driven for 14 hours just to cross a few states.
shit you can drive for 14 hours and not even leave some states. texas, alaska, montana, california, maybe nevada or idaho if to keep it 55. depending on the traffic you can drive 14 hours and never leave atlanta
Well, the UK isn't a great benchmark for european countries. You're never further than 70miles from the coast in the UK, and while Norway's not some massive country either, I'm currently more than 70miles from the nearest proper city.
It's over a 4 hour drive just between two of our major cities

I just confirmation that, tomorrow, I pick up my 2013 Dodge Charger
I could get to either the east or west coast on a single charge and it's not even a long range vehicle!
I was very confused with your post until I looked at your flagdog.

There are two towns that are technically cities (more than 5k population) close than that but we don't say we're going to the city when we go there.
My new coolant sensor connector. Fun story, so when I found out the old one was broken, because the brittle plastic explosion sure was fucking great at losing bits, I didn't have any part# to go off. Figured the one in the pictures at ECS was the right one. Fuck me, it wasn't. So my new coolant connector is actually just some tape shorting out the connectors to keep the car from screaming at me about coolant. DP, you wouldn't happen to have the part# for the coolant sensor connector would you? It's on the plastic body of the connector I think, I wouldn't know seeing as mine was nowhere to be found. My new washer line. 200% horrid. This coolant tank looks way more at home in my car than the modified 2002+ tank that was in it.
I wont even consider an electic car until either there are universal charging stations at every gas station that can fully charge a battery in under 5 mins, or fusion reactors in the cars. Otherwise gas is the only option, because of energy density and ease of use. So its gonna be a while for me.
-dp halp-
7M0973202 or you know find a vw at a junk yard. [t]https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71WTbaqeKOL._SL1500_.jpg[/t] Nevermind dont snip it. If I remember corrdectly under the power steerign resierve theirs just a bunch of connecters there and I think the fluid level dilly has a thing there. so you just gotta find a vw pull it and clip it were yours is. or you can snip it and use solder and heat shrink... or dont snip it SNIP IT OR DONT SNIP IT CUT THE GREEN WIRE [editline]17th March 2017[/editline] Im glad van-man's got my back incase i die
Either ETKA is a bitch, or they only sold harnesses for engine compartment as whole units. But the connector types used by VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda from mid 90's and up are FEP Automotive connectors, which you can buy as self-assembly, although they are expensive (unless going the china copy route). Most shops worth their salt who deals with German cars frequently has kits for "making" those connectors though. Am I correct in assuming the connector is a 3pin one with only wires in the two outer pins? Took the lazy route and peeked at my own expansion tank, even though that connector also feels brittle so I'm not much in the mood of disconnecting it just so I can note down the connector model number.
Ya just gotta look in the new car's to find the odd ball connectors. Do you think VW re engineers the connectors every time too? :v:
VW is a prime example of "if it ain't broke..." They used the same block base for their 4 cylinder diesel engines all the way from the first one slapped in a poor Golf to when they finally went commonrail.

There's only 2 junkyard audi/vws near me and they're a 45 minute drive and last I saw them they were an absolute wreck. So I will probably have to source a new one. Thanks guys. Hopefully I can find one that isn't stupid expensive.
Goddamn. I need to stop looking at Craigslist, and need to start looking at apartment/house listings. There's a 65 Valiant for 1k nearby with a rusted torsion bar cross member. Fuck I can easily afford it but I need to move. And there is no way my dad would let me keep the car at their house. But it would give him incentive to get the 71 Barracuda done....

Yeah, unfortunately. Thanks guys, luckily it isn't a major important part since idk, I have eyes and a temp gauge, but it's a pain none the less.
If you are feeling ghetto, then two slim female spade connectors for crimping can be used in place of original connector, but that's if you want a little more assurance while you dig up the correct connector.
If you are feeling ghetto, then two slim female spade connectors for crimping can be used in place of original connector, but that's if you want a little more assurance while you dig up the correct connector.
Believe me, the urge to ghetto fix everything that breaks is a constant struggle on my psyche that bled over from my days owning my first car where it was a jeep so ghetto was better than oem 210% of the time. Especially when I've seen simple parts for this car that should be like $10 are like $30 haha. My cupholder wouldn't close so I just removed the spring. Washer line fix, shit my old coolant tank was a ghetto job too. The only things I refuse to ghetto are interior bits if it won't look as good or better than stock.
