The city put on an event today called "Touch a Truck" where they parked a bunch of municipal, city, work, tractors, etc in a huge church parking lot and let kids run rampant and jump in them, push buttons, attempt to pull air brake knobs, turn on sirens in police cars and ambulances, whatever. It was super cool. My 4 and 6 year old liked it. I never remember anything cool like that happening when i was a kid. They let em jump in the cab of the garbage truck and pull all the levers. Btw garbage men may as well be pilots. Theres a lot of stuff going on in those cabs.
My town's done that for years with cop cars, fire crews, ambulances, and some SWAT vehicles. It really is a pretty cool event for kids. It's part of DARE here, if I remember correctly.

garbage trucks aren't that bad, I had to drive an old kenworth with a 2 stick in it once. it was all on flat and a reasonably light load so I just found a gear and stayed in it wherever possible

Its an hpi engine, 15cc fuelie. As far as I know its an original design. I run really high quality 2 stroke oil in it, klotz, so it gives me no problems whatsoever, with the added benefit of having an amazing smell.

Brake line almost repaired, just have to pick a proportioning valve at the u-pull-it. It was the farthest end brake line, the right rear, but I kinda winged it and didn't bother to pull the entire old line out.

I see, I have never ran klotz, never even herd of it. I will either run Redline or Stihl if I fell cheap. These engines are pretty strong so I really don't fear any issue.

Pretty much everyone would. Don't need to get a really expensive one, I've even had luck with really cheap Ebay readers. It won't actually fix your problem most of the time though, so you might have to hand it over to your mechanic anyways.

But before I take jump on the gun and take out the cash and go test drive this thing, is this car any good? Will it be as fun as the Civic or is it a more refined bore. I believe the engine is an F20B.

I've always had the best luck with my cheap one I bought 5-6 years ago, everyone always has some shitty scanner that fails to pull codes on something or completely doesn't even read certain ones somehow. My buddy with a Duramax has some stupid shitty tuner that doesn't even clear his codes or read his codes properly despite it having one single job of working on the LLY Duramax and absolutely nothing else.

Honestly just a ELM android one is fine. You can do quite a few things with them,
But actually working on things and needing a REAL scanner there is no contest against a Snapon.
