Grabber Blue is to the Mustang as Plum Crazy Purple is to the Challenger.
I get the feeling the newest gen of Mustang would look good in Aston's green, too. Never seen it though.
Yup I agree
Postponed body work on the AE86 because I cracked my throw-out bearing trying to press it on more Saturday. I was trying to fix it from constantly being in contact with the pressure plate which made it squeal awfully. Well, it started making an awful grinding sound with the clutch in, so I ordered a new bearing because clearly that one was fucked.
On Monday, I fixed a coolant leak and went for a test drive to make sure the leak stopped and there was no overheating, and like a fool, I redlined it with the shot bearing. It literally exploded. Got to see the aftermath today when I replaced the bearing.

Thankfully my clutch is fine. Shrapnel all over the bell housing there.
Installed my new TOB, and now all is well.
PSA: Never redline on a fucked throw out bearing
I've seen a newer mustang in this dark green color that looked amazing, wish I remembered the name.
guard green!!! its a bit hard to get it looking good in photos but its always great in person
Porsche used rubber clutches in the 944 for some reason :hurr:
I got bored and used some spare parts to build a little recovery truck. Its based on a semi truck chassis so its overbuilt for what I plan to do.
- 3 speed manual
- leaf springs all around
- wig wag lights
- steel ladder chassis.

Guys! I need advice here.
So I sold my 2007 Charger R/T Pursuit back in October and sent off the title release to Jefferson City saying I no longer own the vehicle. I sold it to a tool and I just got a thing in the mail today from Springfrield, MO PD saying that the Charger is impounded for being in an accident (Non-Injury but being held for investigation, wtf?) on 3/11/2017. Now, the dumb ass who owns it never put the title in and I guess Jefferson City didn't do the paperwork saying I no longer own the car. The kid didn't have much money so I figure he never registered the car because of taxes. So I guess I technically still own the car.
Should I go see if I can get my Charger back from the police for like $400? Haha. That's basically a free HEMI.
Or how do I go about making sure I don't have to pay taxes on this car even though I haven't owned it in months?
Techicly speaking whoever gas the title in there possession is who's car it is in. Since its signed due to sell. It's HIS car because he has the title of it. Doesn't legally make it his and doesn't make it yours either. After you signed your name on a bill of sale and you keep that copy of bill of sale forget that fucking car exists. Not your issue, might have to prove documentation. But not your car anymore and not your responsibility.
[editline]30th March 2017[/editline]
"How not to pay taxes on property you don't own"
Show up to the impound lot or city clerk or whoever, tell them what's up show documentation and don't pay anything it ain't yours. If they want you to pay anything tell them they can keep it and let them sell it off at auction were you can legally buy it.

Hope you kept your copy of the release of liability - take it to the yard and show them it's not your car. If you remove it from impound and pay his fees, he can call the police and show up and take it right back from you. Not a smart move.

When you release the liability (mail in the title release) you release ownership of the car. If the police, city, county, or state contact you, just furnish them the buyer's info. If you have a copy of the bill of sale, that'll be more than enough proof.
No, you can't just go down and try to buy the car unless it goes to auction.
Haha, damn.
I'll just shoot them a call and let them know what's up. I guess I should call Jefferson City and let them know that I don't own the car (again) and to remove me from being the registered owner.
It would kill me to sell a car I loved and find out it'd been wrecked within a few months.
I figured this ass hat would wreck it. I called it the day I sold it to him. Looked at my SO and straight faced said "He's going to crash it in 6 months or less." He went 100mph through town on the test drive.
100 in a 35.
I loved that car, but I felt I needed to sell it after the accident. Plus it was starting to have weird issues that weren't really keeping me from driving it, but annoyed me to no end. Better to watch it leave the way I knew it before it became a burden.
From another side of the world, me and my friend just bought a 1970-made GAZ-21 (designed in late 50s) for about $1700.
[T]https://pp.userapi.com/c638431/v638431558/2d77e/Begaxz9lxmM.jpg[/T]
Previous owner was an auto hockshop guy who used it as an ad, basically it just stood near their location for about a year. Didn't start until my friend found the primer lever under the fuel pump and then, after closing all the coolant drain valves and some accelerator-happy pedaling it started.
A GAZ-21 features:
- 1.5 tons of steel on a leaf suspension
- Three-speed manual with the stick under the steering wheel, speeds two and three are even syncronized
[T]https://pp.userapi.com/c638431/v638431558/2da01/Bypa3gQrWGQ.jpg[/T]
- 2.0L 75 hp carb engine (it's almost the same one as used on the earlier UAZes)
- No brake booster, not for babies
- Instead, it's an RWD executive class sedan for very successfull people (why, the first-man-in-space Yuri Gagarin had a GAZ-21)
- No seatbelts intended by the factory
- No side rear-view mirrors intended by the factory
- Cool wooden steering wheel
- Manual leg-operated windshield sprinkler pump
- One long continious forward seat for 2-3 people
- 12-15 l/100 ~ 20 mpg. It helps that it's designed to run on shite 56-80 RON petrol
- classy interior with lots of levers - you can manually close the radiator or raise an extra air intake
- can be hand-cranked (we have the crank in the trunk)
- 1950s look for crap prices
- glorious road clearance

- Nice fender skirts on the rear

Next to a VW Polo (russian/indian sedan version)

Interior
Our GAZ-21 features:
- Drive-able, got itself to our garage and to the registration office
- Doesn't want to shift from first to neutral without excessive stick movements and swearing
- Got all documents, fully legal and road-worthy (well, road worthiness certification in Russia usually doesn't even require the car to be present...), we'll get the registration next week
- All secondary electrics are busted except for the headlights.
- No rot in the important places!
- All door locks are busted and are either ass to open/close or don't hold the door at all
- Detonation and misfires. Despite this, entirely stable idling, I did not expect that...
- Coolant leaks somewhere when hot
- Tries to fly off the road when braking
- Speedometer is busted, only god knows how much it traveled...
- Gearbox, clutch and the engine are in pretty nice shape!
So a few hundred of the next weekends are going to be this.
I'll get better quality pictures and details next time
Please take lots of pictures. It's so rare to see Russian cars here.
I love Russian auto styling and engineering.
Russian cars are so bad but I find myself So fascinated by them. I'd love to have an old soviet car.
Hello guys.
Don't post here often, but need car help.
I recently had my Ford Fiesta hatchback totaled by some guy texting and driving, injuries involved but everyone's alive. I'm trying to find a new car I really like. My first car was an Acura Integra, then the RSX, and my most recent was the Fiesta. I picked it because even though it wasn't a speed demon, it drove really nice and was really responsive just like my RSX. I really like small cars. I'm thinking about moving on from a Fiesta, but don't know where to start.
Buy a motorcycle.

Maybe look into a Chevy Cruze or Sonic. Both are very affordable cars. Though I might recommend something foreign simply for a more reliable engine.
Been outta here for awhile, here's the "new to me" 96 stang. Bought it, lowered it two inches, put cobra wheels on it. Cool(to me) option package, manual windows, manual locks, manual trans and a v8. What more could I ask for? :)

GAZ-21 is from 1950s, and the stagnation that's mainly responsible for shit quality of soviet cars happened later, around the 1970s (e. g. 1970 is when what's now called 'Lada' originated). Before that, the atmosphere in soviet car R&D was much healthier. For example, the unusual stick location on the 21 is due to earlier plans to have an auto transmission, which were cancelled before mass production and the car was redesigned to manual but the lever location stayed. Obviously, 47 years later it's going to be crappy, but unlike many other soviet cars, it was pretty good for its time.

When I was younger the neighbor across the street had a Lada in his driveway but I never saw it run and one day it just disappeared and I never saw it again.
I would love to own a GAZ-24 (later model Volga) with the KGB V8 but I think only like a thousand were imported to the US and they were part of some fraud/scam so they all got crushed. It's too bad shipping is so expensive for cars because otherwise I would be able to get one pretty easily.
