Well its official, the turbo slant i spent months building is officially siezed because a $30 oil pump failed to actually work. It rolled a bearing up pretty good somewhere because i cant crank it over with a 4 foot breaker bar. I have to get the whole mess towed over to my shop and yank the engine, see if i can seperate it from the transmission at all since i cant spin it, and then tear the bearings out and hope to fuck that they can just be replaced or the whole engine is a loss.

Seri I fucking hate to hear that, you can alwase drop the pan and do a poor mans rebuild in the driveway. It's not ideal but if your only going to pray that the crank didn't get fucked it's a good praying method to butchery.
Simple. Just admit your fucked.
Either you can buy a entire lock kit for your car or you can have the dealership cut you keys per your VIN.

Tiny tires unite one day we can be like 31's and cross over a speed bump without getting stuck like a shopping buggie gets stuck on a paperclip.
Can dealers build/create a door lock according to car VIN to match ignition key too?

Unfortunately the k frame on the a-bodies doesnt really allow for dropping the pan. The engine is mounted to it and on top of it. So theres no real way around it. It unfortunately has to come out. If the crank is ok, ill be fine. The engine ran a gran total of 30 seconds. But thats enough for about 400 revolutions. If the pistons arent stuck then i can at least get it apart. I still have another forged crank if need be.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
A dealership has records of what your keys are suppose to be, and they can cut you new keys.
If your asking retofiting your door cylinder to work with your ignition key you would require the knowledge to not be locked out of your car at this moment as that's a super oddball part which you might beable to find a old locksmith willing to help and even then it's a coin flip and could get expensive.
Yeah, what DP means it's a toss up that your car has door lock cylinders that will take the same keyway as your ignition key
my 90 jeep had keys that were the same length but the ignition key was double sided and the tailgate was a third key for some godforsaken reason

Well, in fairness my boot doesn't close, so I guess I could climb through it and unlock doors?
P.S - The car is 2001, that's why it's all jigged up.

the pistons aren't seized after 30 seconds, but the rings are likely glazed. new rings, dingle ball hone, and new bearings on both the rod ends and the crank. can the oil pan be yanked without dropping the trans or do you just not want to deal with the trans being in the way?
this shit happens. I've been there before a thousand times. did you use assembly lube? it gives you about a minute to notice you've got no oil pressure.

Iknow.... i brought the dlsr and tripod. But forgot the connector to attach it to the tripod. So i stacked 4 tires and some brake disks to make it stand up :v:

I did use assembly lube. After multiple cranks and finally a run that seemed to do it in. I have to detach the transmission in order to roll the engine over on my stand and fix everything. Itd be difficult to do while laying under the engine.
The oil pan cant be dropped at all without the engine coming out of the car, and detaching from the trans is not an option because i cant spin the engine to get to the other 3 flex plate bolts.

i roll 165/70/13 on my winter wheels, don't be a pussy.
I've also done over 100mph on them.
my summers are 205/50/16 though.

I think your best bet is going to be to pull the engine and trans as one piece then pull the oil pan, undo all the caps and then rotate the crank to get to the flex plate bolts.
If you have space on a wood palette on the ground you might be in luck, unless you want to leave it all on a hoist and work from there. It very well could only be one bearing that did it and just getting that one loose would be hella luck.

My summers are 175/70/13, should I feel bad?
Strange
How do you drive a trailer
You chariot it just like hot rod garage does trucks, obviously.
Got pulled over for accidentally stalling at a light, let off totally free. Put it in 3rd when I thought it was first, stalled, put hazards on for the car behind me then saw the red and blues and felt like idiot of the year.
Disclaimer: At least in my experience, Sunfires and Cavaliers get notoriously difficult to switch into first when the transmissions get old. They also make a nasty crank noise when switching into 5th.
Why would you get pulled over for accidentally stalling and then following procedure for an unforeseen stop
Cops are supposed to stop and make sure everything's okay and provide assistance, perhaps? I assume he means pulled over as in the cop got behind him and turned his lights on, not like pursued him after he got going and tried to write him a ticket.
I guess it was the "let off totally free" bit that confused me.

Because he's stalled and blocking traffic...? Why would you leave a blocking vehicle just sit there

whaaaaaaat
He can pull over a lizard crossing the road if he so desires. He has full jurisdiction to fuck over your day.
How bout we break this up with some vintage tiny racecar?
[T]http://i.imgur.com/QBRgH3u.jpg[/t]
Had this little guy for a couple years. I found it in a collection of old, mostly ruined pan cars. All it needed was some electronics and tires. Even with these old cracked tires, it still manages to break 40 easy.
Not bad for a car a little bigger than my hand.

I meant you can't pull over, i.e. guide to the curb, a vehicle that already isn't capable of moving. :v:
Well all I had to do was start it back up properly and pull over.
You can't pull over a non-moving vehicle.
Definitely false. If anything it's just providing lights for those involved. The cop was right there anyway
