Would a 2011 Mazda 3 s sport be a good choice? It's $8500, but it has 50k miles on it. My last car was a fiesta and I loved it for how small it was, but it also was a bit golf cart-y
It's definitely a good choice in my opinion, I've got a 2010 I touring, and it's a great driver, I'm averaging about 30 mpg with the 2.0, and even as badly as I've butchered it, it still handles fantastically. The real standout thing to me is that the car always wants to play race car, always wants to bite into turns and go. [t]https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3721/33131980691_3e07ef302f_k.jpg[/t]
I wonder if I can enable secure idle in my mom's 2016 flex
In the 21, you can take out the ignition key while it's still running and close the doors from outside. Factory default option! Soviet engineering had secure idle figured out in 1956! In fact, it's so secure you don't need the key for that, a flat screwdriver will do
They're good at putting things together, but when it comes down to stripping... all bets are off. Have to remember that the people building these things are not cops and may have the same experience as your local lube tech Source: Checked in every day at work while they built and stripped a squad car.
the issue is that the tool of choice for stripping police vehicles is a sawzall
I love love love that GAZ. Any videos?
I really, really want that gaz.
First wreck on my bike today. I was making a turn and nearly got turned into road pizza by a guy in a Camaro flying up behind me. Ended up slamming the throttle it and laid it down on the side of the road. Tried going after him but he just kept on flying down the road. What a great birthday present.
Glad your ok dude, happy b-day by the way. My day isn't as bad but I am super fucking furious. Took both of my TRAP rotors off to get them turned at O Wronglys because they were a little warped and would make braking a bit tricky, only a tiny bit but its annoying as fuck. So now both rotors are SEVERELY warped and need to be turned again or replaced. I can not believe they did such a shit job.... I better be fucking compensated for this shit.:suicide:
That's what you get for turning rotors instead of replacing them.
While I'm thinking about it, does anyone know a good place to look for cheap replacement foot pegs for my motorcycle?
That's what you get for turning rotors instead of replacing them.
even brand new rotors are out.
That's what you get for turning rotors instead of replacing them.
turning rotors is fine though so long as both the tool and the tool on the tool is worth a damn [editline]5th April 2017[/editline]
While I'm thinking about it, does anyone know a good place to look for cheap replacement foot pegs for my motorcycle?
I get all my bike parts from ebay
the issue is that the tool of choice for stripping police vehicles is a sawzall
Thats not a real issue. They strip the vehicle down any way possible to get what they need back. Depends where you are and where youre buying from, but I still hold on that buying a used police vehicle is the dumbest thing a buyer can do. Those cars should be scrapped after the abuse they take and the fluids its seen
WOW RUDE AND GENERALIZING

Regular oil changes isnt enough to sell me on them. I know how they are driven every day because I contribute to it. I hope they dont paint over the decals as those are stickers. Should just be some serious paint fade. The only way Id ever own a used police vehicle is to swap the 3.5 ecoboost (twin turbochargers) into something else. Then the rest of that vehicle can be scrapped.
a fresh pair of shocks and most of them drive like new. honestly you can't go wrong for $800
What's the process you guys usually take when the exterior of your cars?
I swept the remains of my bosses timing belt off the floor, something I could have never really pictured myself doing, ever. Hope this isn't goodbye RB28! (stroker motor)
What's the process you guys usually take when the exterior of your cars?
Yes, usually once every couple of weeks. You have to be really careful and make sure to, though.

Uhaul won't rent trailers to tow behind an Explorer so I told them it was a Mountaineer :magic101: If I just masking tape over the badges do you think they'll notice?
Uhaul won't rent trailers to tow behind an Explorer
Explain
Explain
The Firestone tire lawsuits of the 90's caused Uhaul to ban all model year Explorers from ever towing a trailer they rent. However, you can tow just fine with a Mercury Mountaineer, Mazda Navajo, or Lincoln Aviator, which are all just rebadged Explorers. So I told them our explorer was a Mercury Mountaineer.
You're gonna have to explain a little bit more about the lawsuit.
Uhhhhhh I have a vague overall understanding but here goes. In the 90's there was a class action lawsuit against Ford for a number of fatal rollover incidents with Explorers. The cause was determined to be defective tires from Firestone, but U-Haul lawyers still charge more whenever they hear the word "Explorer" so U-Haul just decided to ban all Explorers of all model years. Yes, the Mountaineer and friends are all badge engineered Explorers but the Explorer name is tainted, so it's the only one that has the ban.
That sounds so damn stupid it's actually believable even without a source.
Have sources anyways. It goes away if you choose a Mountaineer. [t]http://i.imgur.com/hsBX9Ee.jpg[/t]
