just saw this on imgur, how do you even begin to proceed from this point
preferrably in the direction of your employee's records so you can update his status to "buried out back"?

Call a flatbed and drive directly to the scrapyard

Just slap a new frame under it. It's actually common to bend frames on the gmt400. Sticking a truck on a 4point is sketchy as fuck fyi.
With all that rust, it probably should have never gone anywhere near that lift
I can't imagine the call to the customer.
Kinda makes me feel bad for the shop, probably one of those "Well it broke here so that means you have to fix it!" Headaches :v:
Probably should have given the frame on something that beat and ate up a good look over first, but still.

At least 20lbs of rust fell off assuming the bed was empty, it deserved to die

That truck should have not been driving on the road like that.
REMUS
You stole that exhaust because trying to buy just a muffler from that company usually requires selling your first born child.
Anyway, back to the whole cleaning thing, I clean my shitpile Mercedes weekly, regardless of whether its 75 degrees out or 5 and snowing. Just cleaned it tonight to prepare for driving around Watkins Glen and having a cheap buffet dinner at the Seneca Lodge on Saturday.

Fuck this bolt. I dont know what helped more, the 48 hour soak of penetrating oil or the torch this morning, but I got er' done. This was the technique used to get it out.

Didnt take a pic of the bolt but it was disgusting. Cleaned and took every percuation when putting it back in so if I have to remove it again, I can. The threads were caked with rust/whatever the hell it was. Through this entire experience and getting a good look at everything in the front end, I now believe beyond a doubt that the previous owner was in a front-end accident of some kind and not reported.

What age range? Brand new I can't really stop singing the praises of Ferd for the F-150 and Expedition. The Ecoboost engines are excellent pieces of engineering. For somewhat older cars it becomes a bit more muddied. Mid sized SUVs will always be the Explorer for me, pre 2011. Full sized I would go with Chevy. And I'd pick Dodge for trucks if you can find a reasonably priced Cummins.

New : Ford. The ecoboost motors are pretty peppy and seem like they will last fairly long. If you going full sized truck I like their latest powerstroke the 6.7 and that's it.
Slightly older: Chevy. We all know how ungodly reliable a ls motor is and they stuck it in all the things. Their trucks are nice, I wouldn't really get a 8.1 or the duramax until you got in the same year ish as Ford's and might as well get a ford at that point and price.
Giant rolling bricks: Chevy. Depending on year you still could get LS or 350. Stupid easy to work on and unbelievably reliable. Ford's of this era just never had anything worth while except the excursion with the 7.3 diesel.
Classic : it doesn't matter both look good.
Bullnose fords are some of the sexies looking trucks on this planet
Hey, do you need a buildig permit for oe of those big car tents?

Jokes on them, my house was built before the rest of the houses in the subdevelopment, so im not a part of it.
Edit:
If it wasnt such a waste of my time, i think id enjoy sitting in my burnt dead front lawn in a lawnchair wearing a wifebeater with my feet in a kiddie pool and a beer in my hand.
I was wondering, what kind american pickup trucks/suvs would you guys recommend ?
I like dodge's fleet the best, imo, but that's probably because I have the most experience with those.
There's always the one guy who spouts the muh transmission meem but we haven't ever really run into issues with any of ours, and the entirety of my father's side of the family drives exclusively mopar.
5.7 is getting old and a bit underpowered allegedly, granted, but the cummies is still the king of truck motors, in my opinion. I like the new fords a little bit but with all the focus on the ecoboost by them, well....

I mean ecoboosts are well built motors with some good power, but the name is just so cringey that i cant ever recommend someone buy one.
Also fuck you ford, the GT NEEDS a v8 in it. Its not a GT otherwise. Fucking heretics.
It's pretty neat getting all that power from a v6, hell if nothing else it's a nice change of scenery having an option other than a V8 but I can't help but wonder what they'd get if they gave the coyote the Ecoboost treatment.
I think they went with the v6 in the gt to get more people to buy ecoboosts in everything else, honestly. Probably trying to get their fleet avg mpgs down.

7.3s are super rare here, i kinda like the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado model with cargo bed and extended cab
as an ecoboost owner I can confirm the coolness of the series
I have the 1.0 ecoboost fiesta, and being able to get 160 horsepower out of a standard engine with nothing but a remap is really impressive. I've got a K&N panel filter in too, claiming any power increase would be ridiculous but the engine seemed to rev a lot smoother after I put it in (which I think was before the remap)
i really love the Just rolled into the shop subreddit. Here's a slightly overdue oil change. The turbo was seized.

In some ways I wished I had saved a little longer to get a 1.5 Ecoboost Fusion (the 2.0 is really impressive, but was way too expensive up front and in gas). But the 2.5 Duratec has enough grunt for what it is and can still be tuned for a bit of boost. And it will last effectively forever.
After seeing some of the engine fire recalls, I'm glad I didn't get one with the 1.6, even if it was available as stick.

have done own wrenching in the past, small issues don't bother me.

That's the oil pan drain hole, the oil is supposed to flow out nicely. It basically had solidified in the whole engine.
