For a BMW, double your budget again for maintenance :v:

fuck bmw buy an MR2 live on the edge
Mr2s are cool. I drove by one broken down on the side of the highway last week. :v:
Speaking of BMWs, 118d M Sport '07 - y/n?
I got my GF a 116i 2009. I've driven quite a few 1 series. Never a diesel though. However, they are really fun cars. The steering is great because of the moved back engine. I think you can get quite a bit of power out of them through chip-tuning. I think they are great practical cars. Watch out for any unbalanced flywheels on the diesels, just feel the shifter. I've never spend more then 500 on a e36 :v:

Worked on an old S-Type today at the shop. Was beat to shit, duct tape on the door panel, etc... One of the front sway bar links was actually broken entirely off, dangling in the wind. The other wasn't far behind.
I took the "sound enhancer" out of the car this afternoon. It's a rubber/plastic hose that goes from the intake elbow through the firewall and into the cabin to provide a meatier engine noise. Another guy's photo with the tube installed
cheapest e30/e36/miata round here starts at bout three grand, think the takumi tax is starting to go in full swing.

That's a perfect hose for you to hold onto a nitrous bottle and open it up while in the safety of the cabin to gain those extra ponies.

I'm getting a Porsche 944 for a tenth of that tomorrow. Fox body mustangs can occasionally be had with 4-speeds around that price. The problem is most things that are likely to have manuals are likely to have some sort of big tax on them, like basically any Datsun.
Beetle in a few hours :joy:
I'm actually trying to imagine what that feels like. Hopefully I never find out.
Like tar.
Swapped in an STi pitch stop, no more BANG on hard downshifts. Shifting is much faster and smoother in general. Well worth $20.

i love it
Manual 2xx-9xx volvo a good idea?
I'm so desperate to get my blue MR2 running but also so broke that I'm considering trading my red one for a 20v Blacktop for the blue one. God help me.
Isn't the blue one the one that got hit recently? What happened to make it stop running?
Isn't the blue one the one that got hit recently? What happened to make it stop running?
fuel pump failed and then it needed an engine rebuild iirc
fuel pump failed and then it needed an engine rebuild iirc
That's what I'm assuming, mechanic still hasn't even taken it apart to look at it yet, claiming he won't until his machinist has an opening for the block. Either that or I got a little too excited with the starter fluid trying to diagnose the fuel pump issue :v:
