I can't tell if it's liliac purple with a heavy yellow pearl or what. I'd love to know the mix.
ahhh I haven't worked on many FJ60's but if they're like every other landcruiser (and other 4x4's), then expect axle seals to be leaking into the rear drums and turning the brake shoes into mush. A sneaky seller would probably clean away the external signs. The diesel motors are generally very good, I'm unsure if these generations liked to crack heads, and the petrol motors are pretty thirsty obviously. Our neighboring business owner dailies an immaculate FJ60 with ~400k km om the clock, so they're pretty reliable (or his could be skewing my perception of them entirely???)
Anything old Toyota is pretty darn easy to work on even if it need seals, engine work.. you name if. Minus if it's rusty as hell of course. If it's rusty as hell just skip it. A clean to fairly clean (rust-wise) one is an awesome choice.. rust is practically the only thing to take them out. Even if it needs an engine rebuild or new trans at some point.. it happens.. Easy enough. I'd run one of those in a heatbeat if they weren't so expensive. I'd feel so bad dailying a clean old Toyota round these salty places.
It's okay guys Tesla will bring electric burnouts to the middle class.
Honestly I like Tesla and what Musk is doing, but you're just being an asswipe about it.
It's okay guys Tesla will bring electric burnouts to the middle class.
But right now even people under the poverty line can get accessable burnouts with the piles of cheap heavily used gm 3800 cars or the even older piles of cheap heavily used small block cars. So in your future, you would deny poor people their god gived right to burnouts. You sicken me, you monster.

This video just gave me a raging softie. Like the opposite of a hard on. Not even just flaccid, but beyond that. Edit: FIX MY DICK DAMN YOU
Model S is independently verified as doing 60 in 2.28 seconds even though Tesla only claims 2.4. Now make a family friendly sedan do it :magic101:
and how often can it do that and for how long can it be driven hard until the battery overheats and explodes
and how often can it do that and for how long can it be driven hard until the battery overheats and explodes
Well that guy here who has a Tesla took his to the drag strip and did 20-something runs and it only took like 16% battery or something so quite a bit.

would rather take a bus than drive that tbh edit: automerge

Ayy bois. Anyone got a pin out for the D-sub 25 connector in the boot of my car? I have this genius plan for the bugger but the only doc I found on it was installing a car phone and it's very poorly documented to boot. 2001 audi 2.7t a6.

You didn't exactly say you goal on what you were doing... If you are wanting a aux input wire it into the CD reader wiring. There are writeups on how to do that on audizine I believe. I really suggest ditching the headunit and amp and bypassing the bose amp. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zh7WUKv.jpg[/t]
Got a couple of questions for you folks, I'm looking around for either an E30 or a 190E (second hand ofc). I know the basics on checking cars for rust, clutch slippage, checking if the gears go in smoothly and stuff like that but are there any specifics to check on these cars? I heard the bmw has an easy check for an engine part, listening for racket while in idle. Most of these cars have 150k+ kmh on them and about 60% have LPG installed but they're all for fairly cheap (300 - 1000 euros). As far as other choices in that price range go it's Yugos, Ladas, VW Golf mk2, old Fiats and really old Opel kadetts. Mostly getting this for daily commutes because I can't stand public transportation anymore Any general tips for second hand vehicles will come in handy

[t]http://i.imgur.com/zh7WUKv.jpg[/t]
Well from what I was reading in that guide, you can push 12v through it to the car phone jack in the arm rest, because it's able to be used to power a car-phone(? according to the guide I found at least). So I was planning to route it there for a clean implementation of USB charging instead of having to use the lighter, since that's as easy as throwing a couple LS7805's down off the 12v in parallel to prevent one chip from getting too hot/minimise loss, and then I'll have a solid 5v out for a USB set, though I should probably just build a switching reg. if I want it to be efficient or permanent, idk, it's mostly proof of concept right now and I have a lot of 7805's on hand. And from there it allows me to have 12v or 5v for other projects, so long as I don't exceed the 5A of the telephone fuse. But considering I'm stepping down from 12v to 5v I should be good in terms of current draw there.
1. Pin 7 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 2. N/C 3. Ground 4. Unswitched 12 volts 5. Switched 12 volts 6. Pin 8 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 7. N/C 8. Pin 2 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 9. N/C 10. STEREO MUTE 11. Pin 3 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 12. Pin 4 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 13. N/C 14. Microphone (-) 15. Microphone (+) 16. Unswitched 12 volts 17. Ground 18. Pin 5 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 19. Speaker (+) 20. Microphone shield 21. N/C 22. N/C 23. Pin 1 of the RJ-45 in the armrest. 24. Pin 6 of the RJ-45 in the armrest 25. Speaker (-)
This is apparently the pinout they're giving for their guide, but I was hoping to get a confirmation on it before I started my project because tracing every bit of it my self is honestly a bad use of my time if someone else already had it or Audi provided it at some point somewhere. Hmm, I suppose I could always drop a 10A fuse in the telephone fuse slot and just put the voltage regulator in the trunk with the d25, then I could slap a fan on it as well..
Well that guy here who has a Tesla took his to the drag strip and did 20-something runs and it only took like 16% battery or something so quite a bit.
Wasn't there a dude that took his Tesla to the track and it could barely limp about due to the stress on the motors after a lap or two.
Wasn't there a dude that took his Tesla to the track and it could barely limp about due to the stress on the motors after a lap or two.
The car will reduce power after a while because the radiator isn't big enough to dissipate the heat from the motor. They didn't bother putting a bigger one in because it's not worth the extra weight and cost unless you're on the track, which 99% of Tesla's will never go on.
Makes me wonder, why do the Model S' have so much power anyway? It's just bragging rights and false advertising.
Each wheel is independently powered by its own motor. The more powerful each motor is, the better the car handles at speed, because even when you're in command of the vehicle, the computer is still managing the fine details. A little extra oomph here, a little less there, and you don't even notice the puddle the guy behind you is hydroplaning through. Plus it helps with braking and so on. [editline]13th April 2017[/editline] Anyway as much of a Teslaboo I am, Morgen needs to stop baiting
Makes me wonder, why do the Model S' have so much power anyway? It's just bragging rights and false advertising.
It can put all that power down. It's so you can do this to people whenever you feel like it: (skip to 20 seconds in)
a p100d just runs high 10s. not bad for stock but I can make any car with an actual engine run high 10s for a tenth the price of a new model s
It will be interesting to see what Tesla's new roadster can do in a few years. Maximum plaid here we come lads. Someone did mod the p100d to run 0 - 60 in 2.1 seconds as well. Not sure what kind of quarter mile they could get.
I like Teslas, they're pretty impressive machines, wouldn't like to own one, but still. I don't like the people who like/drive teslas. Theyre the late 2000s MacBook owners of the automotive world. They will not shut the fuck up for a single minute about how superior they think their vehicle of choiceis. I don't mind some joking around (I'm a mopar fanboy and am thus the butte of many jokes) but darn, we get it. You like thing, it doesn't mean that X thing needs to be all you speak about. Am I talking about anyone in particular???? You be the judge!!!
I mean I've got my pickup running high 12s if the DA is in my favor (or at least it was until my G80 decided it didn't want to ever spin the left side again, haven't run it at the strip since then) and it weighs about the same as a new model s except instead of $134,000 I spent about $3000 on modifying it when it was a brand new (to me) truck 12 years ago today I could use that same 3 grand and outrun a tesla
Have you guys seen the new Leaf coming out at the end of the year though?? They got rid of those silly headlights finally! [T]https://i2.wp.com/electrek.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/2nd-gen-nissan-leaf-electrek-0.jpg?w=256&h=&crop&quality=82&strip=all&ssl=1&zoom=2[/t] No Tesla talk here no sir.

The Model S isn't even that quick in a straight line. It just accelerates very fast initially. Your average 911 will accelerate a lot faster after the first second. Modding a Model S to do 0-100km/h in 2.1 seconds is nice, but lets not forget that a modded GTR does it in 1.49 seconds.
Nissan leafs were a mistake
I remember seeing the Mitsubishi i-Miev at the dealership I bought my Subaru from and how depressing it was. I've only seen one person who dailies it in my town, but I see Teslas every day.
Just motherfucking aced the shit out of a job interview, so much so that I got instantly hired. Meanwhile in the waiting room another guy was sitting there and got told "the position just got filled". Excited af, but not excited about the 23 mile one way trip with 70% of it city making it a hr drive.
