So I was driving home today when I went to pull into the passing lane on a highway. A woman whipped around a car and tried going past as I was pulling in and basically ended up getting cut off by me. I looked in my rear-view and saw her losing her shit in her seat and decided to move out of her way, except she started just riding up my ass. I speed ahead, about a quarter-mile and try to lose her by taking a different exit. Unfortunately the exit has a stop-light immediately after, which I got caught in. No big deal, right?
then she rolls up behind me and gets out of her fucking car
I'm sitting in the driver's seat, glancing between the light and my mirror as she's walking up towards my car, still flipping shit. Screaming at me and shit, all of which I can hear through my open window. As she reaches my back left door, the light turns green and I yell "BYE" and floor it damn near the whole way to my house, taking all sorts of weird roads to get back.
Today was weird.
I've never understood what has to go wrong in peoples' lives to ever really think that road rage like that is ever truly justified; shy of striking another vehicle. Some people, man...
The 'truck rice' style tires tend to be artificially overpriced.
37x12.5x16/17/18 are 100-200 cheaper each, same with the others, for the exact same tire model.
They're less common I think, probably sell tons more 16/17/18s than 20s. The coolest rims are 20s though because theres a larger surface for designs
I saw some tyres at a shipping agent's here at the end of last week that were 295/30/20, probably the widest tyres I've ever seen.

Great looking car! Which license plate bracket is that?

my dad's truck wears 20s and he has a hell of a time finding used tires. they usually have maybe one set at the local used tire place
[editline]24th April 2017[/editline]
whereas I have absolutely no trouble finding tires I like on my 17s
[editline]24th April 2017[/editline]

[editline]24th April 2017[/editline]

I think those are 300 something on a 30" rim. The rims behind it are 16-17".

I always feel like I'm one of the oldest here at 32. I know serj is like 35 or something.

20's are becoming very popular, at least in my area, both with the lifted and lowered truck crowd.
I still prefer my 16's
My friend and I were trying to figure out why his truck would slightly dive to the right under any throttle at all. I think we found the issue...

I'm going to say missing a major part of a U-bolt is bad...
Edit:
Facebook group said that I probably want to swap out the aluminum blocks with solid steels at the very least but I'd be much better off putting drop shackles/hangers on. Since blocks have a tendency to snap bolts off like that.

Back when I had my Z3, I was heading home on the freeway when I realized I was being tailed by a minivan. I had no idea how long they'd been following me or why, but as I was changing lanes I realized they were keeping close behind me. So I take an unusual exit and sure as shit they start heading that way too, and I start getting nervous. Genuinely had no idea what I'd done to upset them, so I start taking hard turns and even slide around a couple corners and they kept catching up.
I end up in a cul-de-sac, whip the car around so my lights are facing them, and sit idling. The van pulls up, stops, and the passenger door opens - I wait for some dude to get halfway out the car, before dumping it in first and taking the fuck off. Managed to make it through a few greens before making sure they weren't behind me anymore and got back on the freeway.
To this day I wonder what the hell I did.

this is like my worst nightmare (mostly because my car wouldnt be able to outrun a minivan let alone anything fast heyo). ive been thinking about getting front/rear dashcams since i think i read somewhere once that following someone like that is illegal in most places
Shit like that is why I keep a gun in my car
Why wouldn't you just call the cops in either scenario
If they get close I'd just let 'em hit me, trucks so high up they'd just eat trailer hitch straight in the windshield lol
I got followed once and I called the police. The guy trailed me until a block before the police station (maybe 5 miles or so in city traffic), but I gave them footage of the car, license number, and accurate description, so hopefully he won't do it again. Right before he peeled off he pulled up next to me and motioned for me to roll my window down. I didn't and he made a neck-cutting gesture than sped off.
Great looking car! Which license plate bracket is that?
Thanks. It's a Mazda Platypus License Plate Mount. Uses the tow hook to mount.
80 bucks per tire, two tires, is 160. Another 40 or so for balancing, disposal fees, etc. That's 200. The rest is for a forced warranty. Why should I be charged for a tire shop's warranty when the tire should already come with one?
$40 for balancing? you using gold to balance them or something?
Being followed is scary as hell.
Once I was on the way home from a mate's place going down a dirt road I've been on a million times - it rarely has cars on it.
About half a minute into the drive I see a a pretty slick new Mercedes coming against me and I go off to my side to let the guy pass but instead he stops sideways blocking the road.
In it is a guy who's got a gold chain, slick back hair and a pretty not friendly face. He waves at me to come to his car so I try to go past but he reverses back and keeps blocking me - then he gets out and starts walking towards me looking angrier.
I put the car in reverse and do a J-turn. The guy takes up his phone and takes a photo of me then gets in the car and starts following me.
I had the pedal hard down going 140km/h towards the highway on these twisty roads and he's right up my ass all the way. When I get out on the freeway he passes me and blocks the road, which is pretty busy, then gets out and starts walking towards me giving me signs to get out.
I go around him and keep heading down the road and all of a sudden I see the car flying up behind me honking and flashing.
He keeps trying to pass me but there are too many cars, at one point he got up right next to me and tried to get me to pull over.
At this point I was on the phone to the police and they were on the way. The guy must have figured it out because he turned around and darted away.
Fucking scary stuff
Can't use the phone while driving though
Honestly I'd recommend even a basic handsfree phone setup just as a safety feature. Most modern phones have voice dial systems. I can activate my phone's voice dial with just a double tap of my stereo's knob and it's helped me call 911 several times since getting it, not to mention being able to take urgent calls on the go.
Finally got my car up on the lift to check out the issue concerning my diff clunking so bad.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Trex0PJ.jpg[/t]
I didn't expect my diff bolt to have backed out again in the last 2000 miles since I re tightened it.
Rest of the bushings aren't in good shape either.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/DSTyw4t.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/XAddzfy.png[/t]
Still waiting on free time to put the poly subframe, rtabs and diff bushings I bought in
Also, has anyone ever been given a warning by the police over for running an EU plate underneath your license plate? I run plates like this and received a written warning when I got pulled over yesterday in Iowa. Cop said the plates were illegal since I had a plate number on my car that was not registered to my car. I never knew that was a thing
[t]https://i.imgur.com/cT5K4Aw.png[/t]
What's the reason you have the EU plate?
I still wish US states would officialize a EU-spec plate for EU cars. BMWs etc look kinda goofy with the US plates sort of stuck to the front.

What's wrong with this? It's perfectly legible and has all the same information. I should be able to run these no problem.
Can't use the phone while driving though
There's actually an exception (in UK law at least) that allows you to use your phone whilst driving if you need to call 999.

I assume 999 is like our 911, and it's the same here
What's the reason you have the EU plate?
I had it as a joke from my old E30 when I took it autoxing, when I sold that car (and the next owner turned it into a drift missile then crashed it) I kept the plate on my E46 as a memento
Be glad they didn't ticket you for having a plate that expired in 2006 :v:
Actually, the cop did tell me "Sir that EU plate has been expired since 2006" :v:
In California I've seen literally hundreds of BMWs and other German cars with EU plates underneath the US ones. It just seems like when people import their cars they keep the plates and that's it.
So, a new casino opened up about 15 minutes north of me, Michael Jordans supposed to be there to open his new steakhouse and traffic is backed up on i5 for like 10 miles.
Half of that is my commute. :tableflip:

Just got a Google notification, my normally 11 minute commute is gonna take a half hour today. Hope everyone didn't just cut off onto the backroads.
