haven't been beaten by a lugnutte yet
And now for the nightly buggy report

I plugged the extra brake lines with bolts. Dont know if itll work yet, still need to bleed the brakes.

Got some of the lights wired up. Safety first, you know.
And bonus, my dads cub cadet restoration is coming along nicely

Oh yeah and I fixed the throwout bearing, put the motor back on, and changed the [del]sludge[/del] "oil"
So my mother is looking to change her car. She wants to sell her Lancia Epsilon and replace it with something that's got more power.
Her criteria are 15,000€ budget (not sure if she meant counting the resell price of the Lancia or not), three doors preferably, and more horsepower because the Epsilon struggles to go uphill when there's any more than two blokes in the car.
Any advice on what would work in these settings ? She's more concerned with looks than performance other than the uphill traction thing. She was interested in the Suzuki Swift but has no further ideas if it's a good car at all.

I dunno what prices are like there, but with that budget you could pretty easily get an Impreza 5 door with that.
Though, judging by her previous car, you might want something smaller. You could probably get a Golf GTI 3 door?
there's a guy near me selling a 20v blacktop swapped aw11 for 5k... that is ridiculously tempting
So I'm trying to find an ECU for my turbo miata project, and got recommended Megasquirt 3 PNP over the MS 2 PNP and other solutions. The only problem is, I can't seem to find anyone that sells MS3 PNP for a 97 model year.
http://949racing.com/megasquirt-miata-PNP3.aspx
Literally every model year except 96-97, would anyone know why that is?
Well if they're anything like Hondas, 96-97 would be OBD2. 98 is an NB and those have VVT? So I'd assume OBD2 NA Miatas don't get much love while not sharing as much with a NB nor an NA.
If the PnP Megasquirts are just normal Megasquirt3's but with plugs to plug and play with the stock harness, you'll probably be better off getting some sort of jumper harness if they make them for your car and just wiring that so the female side plugs into your car's stock harness and the male side has your MS3 plugs on it.
Googling suggests that the common thing to do is to repin your car to the older plugs and run a OBD1 ECU/OBD1 ECU pnp standalone. With Hondas they just make "ECU Jumper Harnesses" and they supply the extra pins or plugs you need to run the different ecus. Be weary of random sensors or signal changes though, Honda flipped the evap purge solenoid directions and the wrong ecu will activate it under the wrong conditions. Distributors and the sensors inside of them also changed between OBD0/OBD1 as well as a switch from 1 wire o2 to 4 wire, although 8 valve and many JDM/non-US market single cams still used 1 wire o2's upto like 2000. Just do some through research into swapping motors, ect.
https://www.flyinmiata.com/support/instructions/ecu/OBD2_rewire.pdf
It's also made even more confusing because the Miata sites refer to it as a MS3 PnP when diyautotune refers to it as the MSPro PnP.

eh fuck it. i get paid tonight so i can just roll it down the road to a tyre place (theres like 4 within a minutes drive from my house, just didn't have money to get a new tyre) and get a new tyre. not ideal because i like to get them from this place second hand, fitted and balanced. for $35 and they're gonna charge me like $90 for a new tyre at one of these places.
With that kind of budget, why not?
Doesn't help that we don't have Lancias in the States (ignore the flagdog, ISP is dumb), so I have no real point of reference. Would a base Fiesta hatch or Focus hatch be better for that?
Also dude my man what are you doing, you had this problem about a month ago. Buy a nice length breaker bar to replace your tire iron.
I fell for this meme so hard on my evo, I would over-tighten the fuck out of the wheel nuts (cos AWD anti-lag launches yo) and one day I snapped the thread because I had no idea what to tighten them to.
At work we once had a customer say that the over-tighten wheel nuts (from a rattle gun) was causing his brake shudder. Does anyone know if that's a thing?
So my check engine light is on, and I checked the fault codes, Ive got 9 of them. Are any of these in dire need of fixing?
P0122 - Powertrain (Throtte/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A circuit low input)
P0351 - Powertrain (Ignition Coil "A" Primary/Secondary Circuit)
P0352 - Powertrain (Ignition Coil "B" Primary/Secondary Circuit)
P0420 - Powertrain (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1))
P0552 - Powertrain (Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input)
P0505 - Powertrain (Idle Control System)
How serious are these?
Turns out that these lead to 7 more fault codes and a constant misfire. Car stalled when accelerating too fast on a highway. Brought it back to the dealer who told me to go to some super sketchy mechanic whose had my car since last Wednesday. I kind of hope nothing has been stolen out of my car.
Hey Ldesu, could I bother you for a picture of the linkage for your dual carbs? I fear I may have made a terrible mistake in the past.

It can certainly cause issues with vibrations from uneven tightening, but not just brake shudder on it's own.
If you really want to save those seconds by using a rattle gun, get a torque extension rod. They are innacurate, but you can tighten the nuts close to spec, then finish with a torque wrench.

What.
If you live paycheck to paycheck and couldn't afford to spend 90 dollars yesterday, you need to buy a breaker bar so you can fix this yourself.
What's going to happen next time you get a flat and it turns out someone tightened the lug nuts?
A nice breaker bar set is less than that and is a better investment
i just fucking love following multi page troubleshooting threads that end up like this

What linkage? For the throttle or the pressure equalizing thing?

For the throttle
For the throttle
The throttle linkage I have is what came with the carbs. Not a great picture but cba taking another one now. I'm sick as fuck :v:
I always tighten my lug nuts to spec, no point going hulk on them. If you work on your car yourself you should have a torque wrench anyways
Most cars seem to like 75-85ft lbs, am I right? That's the range I use for all the cars within my immediate family.
My dad is notorious for overtorquing and breaking lugnuts, or at least he used to be. I think I finally converted him to the torque wrench life. Of course though, he still goes "what should I torque these to? 100lbs?"
I've been checking with my dad why our Peugeot 406's passenger window won't open or close, and we came to the conclusion that one of the brushes of the motor are gone. Would you guys know where I can order just a new motor? I've been looking on eBay and all I found there were entire pulley assemblies while the entire window doesn't work because of one single missing part.

Ford Fiesta (not biased at all lel). My 1 litre is nippy enough, pretty economical and has pretty good equipment as standard. General market value for my car at the moment (Zetec S, couple of options on the car) is about £7k, or 8000 Euros. Mine's a 2013 so you could likely get something like a Titanium (better equipment) or an ST (more power) for the money your mother wants to pay.

Shit thats what i thought.
...i had the carbs on backwards and the linkage on the other side of the doghouse. I wondered why it didnt fit on quite right.
I guess i wasnt thinking about beetles and busses, where you cant easily get to the fan side of the doghouse.
Get all the front suspension perfect... And the control arm bushing goes bad. Fix one thing, another breaks

ford calls for 148 ft lbs with the lug nuts on the newer mustangs.. seems high but ive taken the wheels on and off a few times and the studs, nuts, and the wheels all look alright.

Most Jap cars are around ~80 or so on the torque spec chart at work, domestics are ~100, trucks can go from 100-140 or higther depending on if it's half ton, HD, Dually, etc. 100 is a good place to sit it for most things.
Then again, I don't use torque wrenches at home at all and I've never ran into trouble.
We didn't spend all this time crawling out of the stone age and all this money on my impact to get down on my knees and do shit by hand.

148? shit, that's at least three ugga duggas.
I think the torque rating on my vic is somewhere around 100ft-lb, but im not a fuckin sperg, so my 180lb ass stepping on the tire iron about 7" out from the center is close enough for me.
Or, you know, eyeball it with the rattlegun.

Good news: $30 for new bushings and I get paid Friday.
Bad news: Going to take an entire day to do it.

I have this motor from an old Peugeot 106 lying around.
