Sounds to me like a ground fault, you're going to have to hunt down all the ground wires that are in that harness. That or find a diagram and locate the grounds and clean them, you may even find a bad wire to fix. Alot of fords with ground issues with the tail lights will light up the reverse lights when braking or blink the when a turn signal is on. Car grounds are fucking weird sometimes.

Then its just a matter of how to wire it up. its got a red, black, and white wire. I believe the controller had off, low, and high positions. Any ideas? I dont think Ill need the low setting, since if its cold enough to need low, youre gonna want high because well, open air and no heater. As for gutting the airbags, Lets just say im better with a wiresnips than I am at upholstery. [editline]5th May 2017[/editline] wait what kind of stupid am I, the wiring diagram is literally right here
Do note that rentals are almost always the lamest of the lame ducks of vehicles.
That may be true, however... Ever been stuck in a narrow hallway with someone and you and the other person keep going back an forth, trying to get past one another? That is how the transmission is in the 4 cylinder Camry, endless gear hunting. And then there's the fact that I can barely eek 27mpg out of it on my commute to work. My v8 mustang will do 23-24 on the same trip driving at the same speeds... all that bullshit for 3-4mpg... and then everyone cuts you off because you're just some weenie in an inconsequential Toyota (a front wheel drive one). Fucking stupid, at least the accord drives nice. I can't fathom why anyone would spend their hard earned money on one of these when they could get something that is... not shit. And then theres the soft touch pleather and red stitching on the dash. Yes it's a nice touch, but coupled with everything else it's like a forced smile. The car still does nothing well, theres no character, it's just there and runs. I could write a book on how shit Toyotas are now.
so on my supercharged car one time the intercooler outlet coupler blew off once... i finessed it back together but ever since i've been checking on it pretty much every time i went out for a drive. taking the bumper off sucks but its worth not having to worry about it anymore. before: after:

A Saleen S7R! Ironically, despite having the most potential to be the fastest on track by lightyears, this car was kind of babied around. The owner and his friend almost didn't run due to not having rain tires on hand, but luckily Loudon is close to a race tire shop. They eventually got some, but even then, many people, including me, out-drove them fairly easily. I can understand being intimidated and not wanting to riippp it but I still would have gone for it. Racecars are literally designed to go fast, so not heating up the tires and brakes makes it even more of an uncomfortable and possibly terrifying experience. The faster you go, the better you flow. Tire question. Both of my rear tires have severe inner wear. I'm 99% sure it was bad struts causing camber issues, but others keep saying it was toe out. My tires look picture perfect of the one on the right;[t]https://mobiloil.com/~/media/amer/us/pvl/car-maintenance/car-maintenance-archives/how-to-complete-a-wheel-alignment/rectangle/irregular-tread-wear-signals-on-tires.jpg[/t] I don't see or feel any of the 'saw tooth' affect on either of them. Camber is not adjustable on the rear of my car. Struts were shot to the point of the cylinder not returning up after i pressed it down once i dismounted the spring. Tires were that way when i replaced the struts. I replaced the tires. I have 1k miles on them and see no odd wear. They are, visually, aligned decently. Car does not pull or anything.
Yes! A downed '89 Daytona was at the wreckers! [t]http://i.imgur.com/hp9JrJm.jpg[/t] I got me some MINT tail lights! [t]http://i.imgur.com/8Vx9fxr.jpg[/t] There was also a brand new set of brake pads in the back seat, but I couldn't find the last one. 3 of 4. So I just left 'em.

Camber alone wont have hardly any effect on wear but if the toe is out even .2 degrees it'll cause gravly accelerated wear. Get the toe fixed with a 4 wheel alignment, that'll fix your issue.
bad ball joints would also cause similar wear
Ball joints cause this wear because the tolerances in basically all directions end up everywhere. Pretty much caster, camber and toe go fuckey. Thats mainly for fronts though, but bad bushings in rear control arm or worse, trailing arms will cause this. Best way to check bushings like that is to take a large flat head (blade) screwdriver or a smallish pry/crow bar and push or pry the bushing a bit in whatever direction you can to see if there is excessive movement, you'll see if its bad right away. Also, for trailing arms, most of their big assed bushings are oil filled and will leak when bad. Why they are made like that I couldn't tell you.
So I found my dream car today https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/cto/6119521695.html Did these cars even fucking come in automatic? Who would convert one to an automatic?

I ended up at the largest American car meet up in Denmark. They estimated around 700 cars showed up. Cash only? Scam. Wouldnt touch that vehicle.

I've been trying to find better images of feathering and toe wear to get a better idea of how to read these tires. Every site and image shows a clear image of a 'saw tooth' affect, though my tires are perfectly smooth as if it just rode on that half of the tire. Here is another image that shows toe vs camber issues; [T]http://www.class-c-motorhome-info-made-simple.com/images/xRV_Tires_1.jpg.pagespeed.ic.rq2gyM62cb.jpg[/t] Mine look pretty much spot on of their example of bad camber. It's like it wore on that half, with the other looking brand new still. The issue is; i did just replace the struts back there. The tires were about this bad before i did. Camber is not adjustable without adding camber bolts to it. So is it possible that the bad struts caused camber problems, or is there a bigger issue?

Who would convert one to an automatic?
Automatics were usually part of the optional extras. If you find a muscle car with a desirable engine, the original owner probably splurged on it and also got an automatic. For example, the base Javelin had a 3 speed manual, with the 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic being an optional extra.
Well, going off my scale of "the more things you break, the more successful the test drive", the buggy made its least sucessful test drive last night. I mounted the drivers seat and fixed a few of the oil leaks. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ux5zwPc.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/m6DImmz.jpg[/t] The only "successful" parts were that the left blinker switch went out, and my custom throttle linkage only fell off twice. How much weight do you carry in the back? If you carry alot of stuff in the back and its independent suspension itll vause the wheels to gain negitive camber which can cause that wear. It'll also happen if your springs are old and weak due to them not being able to keep the vehicle at the proper ride height, which if combined with even the smallest misalignment will likely cause your issues. Only reason I know as much as I do is because my alignment was a disaster i spent the better part of 4 months researching and realigning on my old bosses rack, then later about a month of string alignments, measuring tape and a ton of guess work getting it just right.
Now that the summer is getting closer the cars I'm interested in are being sold. I need to get a better job so i can eventually buy myself a Nissan 200SX like this. It is basically just what i want to get, mostly stock except for the side skirts, wheels, tires and exhaust, but it was sold pretty quickly. [t]http://i.imgur.com/aqbBS7r.jpg[/t]

It's weird how that piece of trim on the rear door starts and then just stops. Why didn't they just remove it from both doors???
