The non-police models have trim on both doors. The police models don't have it because it'd make putting department insignia on the doors tougher, but why they didn't just take it off both doors is a mystery to me.
So I'm really thinking of going for the AE86. Don't know if it runs or not, but 2 grand for a GT-S is almost to good to not look into.

Mine's never had it for as long as I've had the car, and it wasn't a fleet vehicle beforehand.
Crazy seeing an Astro that is well kept and nice. I have never seen one that wasn't a complete shit box. :v:
I've got pictures somewhere of me and my dad standing in front of our mint 93~ Astro, that same body style. They were great vans back in the day.
So I found my dream car today https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/cto/6119521695.html Did these cars even fucking come in automatic? Who would convert one to an automatic?
most of them were autos. autos are sometimes faster in drag racing, and always more consistent in bracket racing. and it's not like you're gonna be carving mountains in a camaro
I think my Vic is on borrowed time. I can hear a sparkplug ticking, the same one that blew out over a year ago. I pulled the COP off and tried tightening the plug but I couldn't get it much tighter than it already was and it didn't help the ticking coming from the plug. How expensive of a job is a helicoil? Keep in mind, I don't have a garage and I can't work on cars at my apartment.

I've had my car up on jackstands without tires at Biltema, no one minded :v:
I don't understand. I drove my car into the woods last night to check on some flooding and when I got back to the car to go home it Wouldn't start. Testing out in the field found that for some reason the relay I added a few years ago to deal with the weak starter (this is a design flaw in the sidekick/tracker, btw) was not energizing so I had to hotwire my car (because I was parked in a ditch so push starting was not an option) to get home. I get the car home and start checking the wiring between the relay and the ignition switch. It's all good and the clutch switch is fine. I swap relays. Still dead. I test the old relay. It's fine. I inspect the relay socket......it's also fine. wtf? Fucking meddle over it again and out of the blue it suddenly works again. It's a fucking mystery.
yes
Just sent the email. Let's see if he responds. I want a meme machine. Actually I want something to keep my mind of this retarded stress, but that's for another thread.

That's usually when stuff just magically works after testing, because you've moved stuff around or reconnected something.

We still don't know how it was getting 4volts, we even discharged the controllers cap's and everything. We sent it out without a backup beeper. :v: And another golf cart just wanted to set battery cables on fire every single time we turned it on. Eletrical is magical. Don't ask questions.
My air conditioner didn't work until I misjudged the steepness of a driveway and hit it a little too fast and bounced the nose of the car hard enough that the engine sputtered and almost died. The AC came on suddenly and has worked ever since.
Here's what's left of the timing cover from my Civic :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/5zkKDsQ.jpg[/t]
Here's what's left of the timing cover from my Civic :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/5zkKDsQ.jpg[/t]
Looks pretty normal to me. :v:
[t]https://puu.sh/vIe8W/035e6ab9af.JPG[/t] Well that ain't right
Anyone else find that some parts on their cars should be easy to replace but aren't? The hydraulic pump on my power steering for example is on its last legs (makes a horrendous screeching noise when cold and transitions to an annoying noise when warm) so I order a replacement pump. When I go to pull the bolt that's holding it on out though I find that I can pull it almost entirely out, until it hits the side of the engine bay. I literally needed just another 5mm space to get it out. I ended up getting the drill out and pulling several holes in the aluminium case of the dead pump so I can weaken it before breaking it off with a hammer. Taking a look at the mounting bracket I determined you can't get the bracket off without removing the pump (the bolts are blocked by the pump), so the only way I can see you being able to replace the part is to pull the whole engine. I think I'm going to shorten the bolt that holds the pump on slightly. The bolt is far longer than it needs to be (it protrudes quite a bit from the back of the bracket), so it should be okay.
yeah there are cunt parts on almost every car, newer cars more so. Are you sure you couldn't just use a big lever bar and push the entire engine a bit?
yeah there are cunt parts on almost every car, newer cars more so. I'd be worried with a pry bar I'd damage something.
Yeah, cutting the bolt down a little sounds like the best way to go.
I bought something I don't need. A AIM Mychron3 datalogger (Not my picture) Number 1 selling point for me was the Shift lights Also, I can set alarms for oil pressure, water temp etc. So I don't need to buy any aditional sensors n shit. It also logs data, as one would expect. ALSO, it comes with an IR laptime sensor. And as all the circuits I go to have a IR beacon that means I have a fully functional built in lap-timer All this for 150$ Now I can also install my polyester dashboard, get rid of the default heavy dash and instrument cluster.
For 150 that's awesome, but how does it wire into everything?
[t]https://puu.sh/vIe8W/035e6ab9af.JPG[/t] Well that ain't right
The issue is your using bpr5e's
For 150 that's awesome, but how does it wire into everything?
It depends, - RPM, - splice into the signal that goes to OBD (Or spice into the coil wiring) - Water temp , use the included temp sensor and put that into an adapter and then into water hoses - Oil pressure, splice into wire harness - Speed sensor, there are multiple options for this. (Could wire it to signal from diff, but requires an adapter) I mean I don't need that many stuff anyway, I've never had a functioning speedometer in a racecar. All I need to do is buy a seperate fuel gauge I was planning on buying a Race Tech Dash2 somewhere next year anyway. Which is even more awesome (and expensive) This bad boy understand pretty much all CANBUS signals out there, so just splice it into the high and low canbus signal and boom, you've got every sensor on the car. But then again, it's like 1K with all the required wiring/options
Haven't heard back from the AE86 dude, so I'm gonna send him another email. But I think I'm gonna go look at an AW11 tomorrow.
The issue is your using bpr5e's
The previous owner left me a box of spares, including a few boxes of plugs. I ain't so up on my spark plugs, what exactly is wrong with 'em? The airflow sensor was having issues a while ago causing it to run super rich or super lean, i'm pretty sure they got cooked during that. I'm pretty sure that one unit has survived like five years of this shit
The issue is your using bpr5e's
bpr5e is fine unless he doesn't need a resistor plug. ngk makes good stuff
