Back when diesel was more expensive here I used to have to put my card in twice because it would cut off at $100. Feels bad man.
Shit. In NC when I'm down there for work, Diesel is usually cheaper than regular 87, which just baffles my brain.
Where is this magical place (I can only see two license plates, and they're from different states)
Parker, a suburb of Denver

My brother has a mid 90s suburban with like a 50 gallon tank. He's owned it for almost two years and has yet to fill the tank. :v:
[editline]13th May 2017[/editline]
I also suspect my gas gauge in my vic isn't quiiiiite 100% accurate because at 1/4 left I can fit 16.5 gallons when 3/4 of a tank should be about 14~ gallons so It's not off by much.
This truck had a 36 gallon tank plus a 60 gallon reserve tank on the back that I can only remember using once.
Water is in the speaker of the siren. If its a bullhorn style, the will be 3 or 4 phillips head (or cross head if thats your choice name) screws. Remove those and the core should come out, be careful as the power wires can be pinched sometimes making them a pain to slide out. There are usually 3 more screws the hold the core together.
One screw will hold the siren circuit board onto the magnet, remove that to avoid ripping the wire off that go the the speaker and move out of the way. Remove the screws that hold the small center cone on and clean it out. Remove the usual 3 screws that hold the magnet to the speaker coil and set the magnet aside, be careful not to damage the "cone" that has the winding on it as its stiff and can be brittle. Clean out all your plastic bits and use CRC eletronics cleaner on the circuit board to dry up any water that may have gotten on it.
I have taken many of them apart over the years for PA speaker mods. Its also fairly easy to get a far larger horn speaker and slap in a car alarm circuit board, because its just the 2 wires for the speaker and the 2 power wires for the alarm. They can be quite a bit louder for sure.
The entire cone was full of about a cup of water. I poured it out, sprayed it with alcohol, let it dry, and its working great now.
Well, my gauge may if fact be a bit wrong cuz ive had the gauge hang a hair below e and the low fuel light was still off. I also have no idea if the bulb is bad or the sensor is bad so...
If I had 4 5gal gas cans I could get a true max fuel capacity, being im a bit sure the manufacturer is a hair consertive for safty reasons. Could also be helpful to see how much is actually left when the gauge is buried into empty.

Do you not have a trip meter? My last 3 cars didn't have one and it fucking sucks not knowing what kind of mileage you're getting between tanks.
[editline]13th May 2017[/editline]
Save some trucks for the rest of us, damn
the only thing that works on my dash is the low fuel light
if that crapped otu I'd just give up
I got the dual carbs on and balanced, and the buggy fuckin rips now.

I had to customize the linkage, but it works pretty good now

I took it up to max speed on a test run, a whopping 65 mph! anything past 60 is pretty sketchy though, between the airless thick-as-fuck tractor tires, the eyeball toe alignment, the right wheel bearing having 1/4" of play, and the left wheel having a couple degrees of camber, the whole front end starts to shimmy like an overdosing pole dancer.
When I pulled into my parking spot in a cloud of blue smoke, I started to theorize that I may have a teensy weensy oil leak.

How in the hell is that not rusted to bits.
I think there is a bit of surface rust on the rear passenger side near the bumper, but that could be cleaned up. Still immaculate though holy shit.

Valon, that's a beautiful dodge. But please make sure to put your ratchets all the way down like the rear ones. They lock in place basically and have 0 chance to slip on the teeth.
Your "extra" strap is alittle to be desired...

The only reason I'm hating on you is because you probably got it for 400$ or some shit.
Nearly all the lights in my car are LED, so theres that. The only ones that arnt are the function bulbs for the turn signals, PRND4D321, oil light, engine light and so on. Cant make those led unless I make them myself, which isnt hard, just tedious to make like 20 of them.
And the 4 door courtesy lights, one over head and glove box.
I do have a working trip gauge but being how my math skills are shit, on-the-fly math like that escapes me. I'd be doomed if my fuel gauge failed. (Again)
Calls me again yesterday saying he can only get one of the distributor bolts out. The only reason the two shops that have looked at it now have not changed the seal already is that both bolts are seized on good (well we at least know now that one is free) and if we snap the bolt it's in such a place on the head (see this photo) all you can do is pull the head to get the rest of the bolt out which is the most expensive pain in the ass that I can think of right now, so I told him don't bother, I'll have another place try.
Calls again today saying the transmission is in and they test drove it but they can't shift into third or fourth. Fucking worst case scenario here.
Calls again a few hours later saying the car is ready. Ask if they had just put the old transmission back in or something and no, a collet had fallen into the shifter assembly when they had installed it and once it was removed it was fine. Thanks for the fucking panic attack. :v:
Total cost came to $1444 CDN. I be doing a 1000km road test tomorrow. Next month will be a new timing belt and a tune-up and we're done with the mechanics for this year.
Ran it through a 1600km in-warranty test by driving to Edmonton and back. The bearing whine came back before I even hit 300km.
I give up. It's a whole fucking different transmission with 1/4 the mileage. What are the fucking odds this one was on the fringe of starting to do the same with the same needle bearing? What the fuck else can cause that to fail so fast? Stiff universal joint? Bad engine mounts? It's going back to the shop tomorrow so buddy can verify the oil level. I ain't fucking with that not even two days out of the shop.

Yeah I had enough strap to double down on the front but I wasnt too sure how to do it, thinking on it now I could've wrapped around the cab mount instead of hooked on to it.
That "extra" strap is to hold down the ramps, you can loosely see it. I didnt want to put them in the box of the truck
Errrr I see what you mean by putting them down. The fronts I couldn't because they hit that bar, I would've strapped it to the bar except the weld on the passenger side broke so the frame is much safer.
And only $6500!! I cant complain! Im gonna leave it totally grandpa stock
Is that a new project you picked up?

I honestly have no idea haha! Theres a little bit on the drivers side by the rear bumper (not really on the passenger side) that I think is caused by rocks and stuff bouncing off the inside of the bumper. If it bugs me enough I get it painted and blended in
I'll grab a pic of inside the box and the interior

Only an odo in my Yota. I've got one in my Charger and two 1k interval trips in my work van.
Well I learned today that big bumps on minimum maintenance roads makes the buggy flood terribly. Float height problem maybe?
$6500 is a steal for that ram, holy shit. I'm jealous
I've come to an impasse because I actually am going to need a new vehicle, but the $2500 I paid for the Blazer has surpassed ROI. Both will cost about the same.
1. Sell the blazer and buy a new-new vehicle.
OR
2. Complete flight training to open career advancement doors.
I mean... a flying cop just sounds fucking terrifying to me; so I say get a new-new car.

Shhh.... How else am I supposed to keep my name?
I'm going down a deep and dark path. I want another audi. I have test drove many of eco box toyota's, kia's and nissans. (Skipping all Domestic brands due to horrible mid 2000's stupidness) But every turn I take I always come back to the time I had my audi where it was a absolute nightmare to work on, constantly was giving me issues and constantly needing expensive parts. Some caused by my neglect and the final death of the trans pump seal was fully because of my stupidity of towing things with a vehicle that was never engineered to tow the things I did at the speed I did. (5x10 enclosed trailer at 90mph)
I miss its great a/c, great heater before I even got out onto the main road, nimble and precise steering with a faint hint of oversteer with a shocking slap in the face of understeer if you entered the corner too quickly or demanded too much from the front tires, the laid back posture with your legs out infront of you coupled with amazing seats made the long trips made you feel like you just been resting on a cloud while you were traveling, and most importantly the 10" wide tires from the rear along with the natural wide body stance made me drool every time I looked at it from the rear.
But anyways the point. I'm tired of the cheap ass plastic shit found on sub 6k eco box vehicles. I have found two nice looking a4 b7 avants near me for reasonable amounts in houston... I just need to get my ass to houston and bring one that I like back....
