This might help give some inspiration.
I love cars and cameras, ive followed them for years. Also awesome that theyre right up the road from me in nc. Awesome guys.
I subscribed a long long time ago to them. But didn't really start paying attention until the turbo 420cc. I wish they'd do car stuff more often, as their name implies. [editline]22nd May 2017[/editline] Also, Savage Octane: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.anker.facepunchdroid
I'm so glad consumer 3d printers exist. I noticed my brake lights were stuck on and I found bits of broken plastic on my floor mat. It turns out a plastic spacer that keeps a normally closed momentary switch on the brake pedal pressed broke. I figured a leadscrew cap that i printed months ago would be a perfect fit with some trimming. I was so worried it was an electrical issue and that i'd have to undo my battery whenever I park until I figure out what it was.
Vehicle drives so much better with the new control arm. Thinking about replacing the other side as well now
their car vids are so boring though
also they need to NOT shoot strictly on a go pro and their subscription base would rise.
What funny about cars and cameras is I have the very same mower they used for their race mower. It runs, but it badly needs an oil ring as the one in it is broken. Runs fine regardless, I just don't because I don't want to somehow score the cylinder walls.
I gotta admit, c&c's production value has been getting a lot better lately, even with a gopro as a main camera. Their fabrication skills and mechanical ability need a lot of work, but I do have to remind myself that for their age, its not really that bad. They do seem to be learning from their mistakes, which is better than a good number of youtube channels. Seriously though, if gopowerfarts loves them enough to give them an $800 v-twin yard motor that theyve used in maybe 5 videos, maybe they should get them a halfway decent camera and tripod, that would help their videos immensely.
So uh, the oxygen sensor melted onto the collector pipes and fused onto the damn thing. I think i may have found the source of my over lean problems. Edit: Went to clean out the airflow sensor, and it's not working right. But in the way it's broken it's not letting enough air through, which would make it run rich, not lean. Something wacky is going on
I learned the difference between a budget and quality air filter today. When I got my car, i was buying so many parts at once that I had to cheap out here and there. I bought a cheapo, STP SA4309 air filter at Walmart for, i believe, $7.99. Only rated to filter 97.5%. It was identical to the one i took out, i thought nothing of it. 8 months/12k miles later, i decide to change it early. This time, i get a Prolator Pureone. This one was $11.99, rated to filter 99%. The build quality is much better. The other two filters had no steel mesh, this one does. The gasket is much softer, feels like it actually makes a tight seal. The pleats are more plentiful, yet thicker. It even looks like it offers more filtration, yet more airflow.
I put a spectre in my Vic because I couldn't find any filters that fit. :v:
Might have found the trouble. The little armature A is about 30 degrees past where it should be, meaning it gets stuck on the fuel pump switch, causing it to get stuck a quarter ways open. The engine thinks there's bugger all air getting through (which is correct) and goes to minimum fuel. [T]https://puu.sh/vYSaT/e0f26da37a.JPG[/T] But the armature doesn't clear the pump cut in switch in any position, and the big radius disc underneath slams into it in a really unhealthy way. And under neither circumstance does it allow the thing to fully open. And if i pull the cut in armature over the switch/contact, it bottoms out on what would appear to be the armature's bumpstop and doesn't let the full rotor rest against the sprung bump stop on the bottom left. I'm kinda baffled as to how this is supposed to work.
Oh Lord, is that a Bosch "flap" MAF? [editline]23rd May 2017[/editline] Nvm, see Lucas now
Oh Lord, is that a Bosch "flap" MAF? [editline]23rd May 2017[/editline] Nvm, see Lucas now
Same thing. The EFI system is Bosch I think i solved it. The little A armature looks like at some point it was bent by someone, since it had a double kink on it. Given that, i bent it to match the above photo, so it acts to open the fuel pump switch and bent the copper fuel pump switch to interact in a more friendly way with the radius disc, which now engages the switch. I don't really see any other way for it to work. A bunch of screws had been selectively colored with paint which seems to me to mean that at some point someone rebuilt this and got it super wrong. I'm honestly amazed the engine could breathe at all in the state i pulled it apart in I guess we'll find out if works Also watching the new rotsun episode of roadkill makes me want to find a parts car XJ6, strip it to the bare essentials, rat it up and slap a janky turbo on the motor. I wanna know what a turbo XK6 will do, besides blow the aluminum head off at anything more than 10 PSI of boost

I'm looking for a car that's roomy, great on gas, and relatively inexpensive. Suggestions?
Took my car to the shop for some AC work and my giant mishimoto rad needs to be removed , guy wants to charge an extra $80 to drain a rad and undo 2 bolts ADfsdggf [editline]23rd May 2017[/editline] literally the rad is held in by some pegs on the bottom and 2 little brackets on the core support HRRRRRRRRRH
I'm looking for a car that's roomy, great on gas, and relatively inexpensive. Suggestions?
Budget and year requirement? Can't go wrong with a 2012+ Charger V6. 300hp, 28mpg, good interior, and lots of room.
28mpg is good on fuel?
28mpg is good on fuel?
That's about 34mpg in UK miles per gallon. For a large American sedan, that's excellent. [editline]23rd May 2017[/editline]
I'm looking for a car that's roomy, great on gas, and relatively inexpensive. Suggestions?
I've been in the back of a Ford Fusion before and it's not as claustrophobic as most modern cars. Also you can get a hybrid version which gets 42mpg or so. The non-hybrid gets around 33-34 combined.
Budget and year requirement?
This might be really optimistic, but within the past 5 years, and <15k
This might be really optimistic, but within the past 5 years, and <15k
Kia Optima or whatever your equiv is called.
This might be really optimistic, but within the past 5 years, and <15k
Not optimistic at all. The Fusion Hybrid I mentioned above has a KBB in Great condition of about $12,000 for the 2012 model.
28mpg is good on fuel?
as an american I consider anything that gets over 20 mpg to be a useless slow econobox
Not optimistic at all. The Fusion Hybrid I mentioned above has a KBB in Great condition of about $12,000 for the 2012 model.
Ooh 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrids sound really good, and the price range I'm seeing isn't too shabby Thanks for the recommendation!
This might be really optimistic, but within the past 5 years, and <15k
if u want a cheap newer car hyundais depreciate like mad and they still come with the 100k warranty. i have lots of seat time in a 2015 eco and it's very roomy, rides well, fuel efficient and with the turbo and DCT it'll roast the tires lol. 1st gear tops out at ~25 mph. oh and it takes 87 oct my parents got a new one for 18k so im sure used 2015s are below the 15k mark by now.
Just converted the Beetle to electronic ignition. Changed absolutely everything ignition related :v: It's sooo much snappier than before. It also ran terribly because the old distributor was really bad.
Did you order a spare one in case that one fails?
This might be really optimistic, but within the past 5 years, and <15k
Charger should work then. You can get a 2012-2013 with the 3.6L for around there. 2013+ I believe come standard with the 8-speed transmission. It's fast enough to get out of it's own way and pretty fun. Excellent fuel economy (for the size). Depends on your area though.
