Charger should work then. You can get a 2012-2013 with the 3.6L for around there. 2013+ I believe come standard with the 8-speed transmission.
It's fast enough to get out of it's own way and pretty fun. Excellent fuel economy (for the size).
Depends on your area though.
I can vouch for this. I've been having nothing but good times with my Charger. I'd recommend replacing the stock air-filter, as the one that came with mine was so shitty I could hear the air wheezing through it.
Did you order a spare one in case that one fails?
Literally the last one they had and they're not taking in more due to taking in a new model that's twice as expensive :v:

It looks nice but the only thing about it that bugs me is that my 2000 Nissan Sentra gets 27/35 and I don't want to drop lower than that.
Just converted the Beetle to electronic ignition. Changed absolutely everything ignition related :v:

It's sooo much snappier than before. It also ran terribly because the old distributor was really bad.
Nice, ive considered a conversion for the buggy, but its not a super high priority right now. Do you still have to set the timing with a strobe, or can you just static set it and leave it?
Also, you wouldt happen to know what your floats are set at with them solexes, would you? I need to adjust mine, they slosh and flood really bad when i hit bumps.

I haven't really touched my carbs since I installed them.
Also I didn't even have a timing strobe, I just set it by ear and feel I guess. Works like a charm though.

TBH, you're going to have a rough time finding "roomy" and good mpg in the same car. That's pretty high for a car that large. You'd probably get away with that if it was a diesel. My co-worker dailies a 2013 Charger SE with an 8-speed and the 3.6L and he gets 28-29mpg with traffic. If it was highway 60mph+ all day long, he'd probably get 31-32mpg. I'm not sure of any other sedan that'll get that close though.
High 20's and low 30's isn't even that terrible. I'd venture to say it's pretty decent mileage.
For America.
Hell, If I could get mid 20s in my Xterra I'd be darned pleased with it.
I'm happy with my V70 and it makes 25-33 mpg while being roomy and comfy
My 93 sentra only ever got mid 20's no matter how I drove it and it was a tin can death trap beater
Fuck the DMV
We sold the RV and had its plate released.
We got a letter in the mail confirming that our PT CRUISER has its tag released.
What the flying fuck
So I'm looking to get my first car that's actually mine. There's an '03 Toyota Echo nearby for $1500 safetied that looks to be in good shape, but it has 254,000km on it. Should I bother with it?
Anybody know what to do about the window seals going? I'm tempted to just throw a tiny amount of silicon seal in there and press it in to seal it, but that feels too easy/janky
Silicone seal will fail in short order. Lube the seal wherever it meets the window with synthetic paste (preferably sunroof felt paste) to keep the windows from shredding them. Otherwise, try buying new seals from Jaguar if possible (I hope they have as robust of a classic car program as Mercedes or you're gonna have fun getting these parts).

No.

No.
What year is the car in question? Jaguar's parts availability for anything more than 8 years old is pretty hit or miss. Brake rotors for a 2007 S-Type V6 are no longer available, even.

if I'm getting double digits its a win
My eclipse got 10 mpg if I was lucky. God that was a dreadful, money sucking winter.
My Leggy Outback SUS gets 27-32mpg, surprised the heck out of me.
My OBS got 22-24mpg.
My diesel gets 19-21mpg, not bad for a big pickup.
as an american I consider anything that gets over 20 mpg to be a useless slow econobox
My buddies 06 5.9L cummins makes 1000hp on the dyno (sheets to prove) and gets 1000km to the tank daily driven.
I rode in it, its a fuckin monster. Single 71mm turbo, fully built motor, big hood stack, dude had his girlfriend dump him and he was gonna marry her, used the wedding money to build a sweet truck and hasnt looked back.
Hes missing a foot so it has a handicapped pass on it, not exactly the truck you'd expect haha!
Diesels are the DD hoon gods
[editline]24th May 2017[/editline]
I guess if we're doing our monthly MPG waving, my new dodge got 1300km to the tank. Works out to 29 or 30mpg for a bone stock 6500lb truck I think
I get 12 highway, can bump it to 15 if I keep it to 55. single digits in the city, about 10-11 combined.
I'm thinking if I ever buy a new truck it'll have the 6.2, similar power and better fuel economy than the 4.8 in my truck. I just like how hard the 4.8 revs
Ooh
2014 Ford Fusion Hybrids sound really good, and the price range I'm seeing isn't too shabby
Thanks for the recommendation!
Fusions depreciate like mad. They are great if you like like buying slightly used.
My 2014 2.5L tends to get around 27 around town and 33-34 mpg at 80 mph. That's around 400-500 miles of range on a tank. It not a fast engine (mid 8 second 0-60), but it's not underpowered, and they are stupid reliable. But they are comfortable, roomy, quiet sedans, even on gravel and minimum maintenance roads. :v:
If you want fast, you go for the 3.0 V6 on the last gen or the 2.0 ecoboost on the current gen.

I wish they'd release my shit. When I sold my Charger I sent in my proof of release and I still technically own it. So I keep getting letters from Springfield Police saying they have my car and Florida keeps sending me tickets. I can't tell them it's not mine, because I have no proof it's not mine, besides my BOS, which apparently isn't enough.
The guy you sold it to totalled it, right?
I guess even if it wasn't wrecked it's too late to take it back now since doing so would put the responsibility of paying the tickets on you.

DMV told us it was a misprint, but in the system everything is as it should be
That was pretty scary

A signed bill of sale is enough proof in texas.

For the price of a new truck I'd recommend just buying an older diesel. Get an 06-07 Duramax, get it deleted and you'll average 10L per 100km (26mpg I think?), for $20000 you can get a clean full load truck with a decent amount of miles on it, but nothing goes on them. They're solid trucks, and they're only going up in price with age instead of down.
Better than paying $40000 for a new truck with cloth interior and an engine that gets 12mpg

At least in Colorado, there is a tearoff on the bottom of the title that you send in to absolve yourself of ownership. Then it's on the next owner to take the title to register it in their name.
You Americans with your DMV shit sounds like garbage. When I buy a vehicle here in BC, I take the ownership slip signed by the original owner and a form that we both fill out and I can transfer and insure a vehicle in my name in like 30 minutes.
The DMV in general is garbage. I tried calling a small not-busy DMV because I'd like to ride my bike legally on a permit while I wait for my scheduled riders course (mandatory for the military) instead of risking being impounded by any random dickbag cop who doesn't like me putting around neighborhoods. I call, they ask if I can hold, I tell them I just have a simple question to ask, and they proceed to put me on hold anyways. I gave up after being on hold for 30 minutes, I just wanted to know if there's a specific timeframe they do the written motorcycle permit testing.
DMVs are cancer everywhere around the country, it's insane how something so critical and so heavily used every day can be so goddamn broken and inefficient.

The Service Ontario places I've been to have always been super quick. I renewed my drivers license, health card, had new ID photos taken for the cards and returned some old license plates in one go. I was out the door in under ten minutes.
My xv250 gets 80 mpg. Also I forgot how much noise aircooled engines made. Always makes me anxious hearing all the noises it makes. But it runs good and has oil pressure.

that's exactly how it works here, the problem doesn't come as a buyer but as a seller. when you sell a vehicle to someone there's no guarantee that they'll actually take the bill of sale to the title office, in which case as far as the state cares the car is still yours, and any infractions given to the car go to you.
