Silicone seal will fail in short order. Lube the seal wherever it meets the window with synthetic paste (preferably sunroof felt paste) to keep the windows from shredding them. Otherwise, try buying new seals from Jaguar if possible (I hope they have as robust of a classic car program as Mercedes or you're gonna have fun getting these parts).
Seals are no problem at all. It's the labor that's the bitch
Also it's the front and back windows, not the side windows. Upper left corner on the windshield and upper/lower right corners on the back. The rubber just started to contract and pull out from under the chrome trim on top. Started letting a little water in and that is all kinds of bad news. I know fuck all about windshield seals so i have no idea what to do about it

So it's the chrome trim holding a oversized rubber gasket in place instead of the windshield being glued in?
At least in Colorado, there is a tearoff on the bottom of the title that you send in to absolve yourself of ownership. Then it's on the next owner to take the title to register it in their name.
That's exactly what we have. So I guess either the DMV (In the capitol) didn't get my slip or is ignoring it until the new owner signs his shit.
My Cruze didn't die in vain, I adopted this puppy today. :cat:

It's just the base model but still, I'm surprised with what this V6 is capable of. The SS must be a blast.
Does anyone know how and where I can get the little cogs that in the speedometer that control trip meter and total distance? I have two different speedo-"clocks" one works and the other one doesn't, but the one that works has a crack in the little plastic gear that controls it all.
Its for my bmw e12, if that makes any difference

so the main fusible link on my 240z broke from being kinked, would it be totally fine to re-crimp and solder it?

I'm kinda digging the steelies. Makes it look different from normal alloy rims.
So it's the chrome trim holding a oversized rubber gasket in place instead of the windshield being glued in?
There's some sort of adhesive between the seal and whatever's under the chrome trim. And what's under the glass and body i have no idea. The glass was replaced/refitted at least once before though, so god only knows if it's done like the factory or not
[t]https://i0.wp.com/www.curbsideclassic.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/EXT-Fuel-Tanks.jpg[/t]
It's the seal on the "inside" of the trim ring that's coming loose and backing out. And once that goes all sorts of awful things start happening
Got another question about my dash / cluster.
Removed this thing from the back of it, no idea what it is or what it does so I figured to ask here.

Edit:
My blinker indicator light never really worked, but when I turn the warning lights on it does work.

I've tried a different relay unit thing but the results are the same.
Plans for the 5 day holiday weekend:
Finally get this wiring mess worked out on the MR2, I just want to get it running.
Also I saw an R30 Skyline RS-Turbo on the way home from work. God it sounded good.

Your warning (or hazard lights in the states) switch may pass some of the circuit through from the indicators, take the warning light switch out and check continuity between the contacts with an Ohm meter, you'll of course need a diagram of the switch to know what your looking for, then see if there are zero ohms on any circuits that should have it. You can try to fix the switch or just replace it at that point.

For me it's an oil change, tires, brakes and wipers. On Wed morning I start my road trip. I'm guessing 4-5k miles.
Changed my oil in my parking lot, spilled oil all over my exhaust manifold like a goon before finding a two liter bottle and cutting the top off to make a funnel. It was last changed back in November right before the depths of winter by a lube shop. My oil still looked decent. Dark, but clear. The shitty no name filter from the lube shop put on took me like 30 minutes to muscle off and was half the size of the motorcraft filter I put back on. Other than my exhaust being a little rusty looking, the underside of my car is fucking spotless.
I might be buying a 4.30 LSD out of a supra tomorrow. Going from a 3.909 open to that will be fun, though it's going to suck even more for highways.
My supra did fine with a 4.30 rear end, still got mid 20s too
I already cruise at 2k rpm at 35 in 4th due to slightly lower profile and skinnier tires on city roads, so 5th is probably going to be my new 4th to get about the same rpm and speed. Though i'm going to enjoy the LSD not fucking me over like my open does on anything that isn't pavement.

For me it's as follows, broken up by car.
S-Class:
- 200k Mile Timing & Valevtrain service: Includes timing chain, chain upper rails, chain tensioner, and camshaft oilers
- Oil Change
- Brake support rod (guide rod) ball joint replacement
- Front brakes and wheel bearing repack
- Brake caliper rebuilds
- LCA ball joint replacement
- Rear shock absorber replacements
- Thermostat replacement
- Intake manifold gasket replacements
190E
- Motor mounts
Probably my most ambitious to-do list yet, but I have a small army of people to assist me so most of it should get done by Monday.

Your blinker/indicator stalk might be bad, or the connections to it are.
I a great dream about a car, it was a yellow mustang GT ute, roughly the size of a subaru brat, with pretty good ground clearance and a 6 speed manual. I had my dirtbike strapped down in the bed and I was hooning around on the streets and some minimum maintinance roads. Fuck that was an amazing car.
[t]https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8299/7817633914_52119bcbee_b.jpg[/t]
FUCK WHY ARENT THESE A THING
FUCK YOU FORD
It's a goddamn ute, of course it's in Australia.
I know but why is it that the only utes we have here are gutless 80s import tax evaders and 70s musclebeasts?

We have the BAJA. 250+ AWHP, very fun, comfortable, decent offroad.
Car broke down out of province last night, ended up sitting on the side of the road for 3 hours and signing up with CAA to save a bunch on towing costs. After I accelerated onto the freeway I heard what sounded like a bunch of sparks or something coming from my battery, moments later my battery light turns on and my car starts overheating. Pulled over on the side of the road and saw that I had lost all my coolant and that it had sprayed onto something hot in the engine and started smoking, coolant was everywhere and it was a thick white. Hoping its not a head gasket.
As for the battery, it turns out the sound I hear was the alternator "belt" that had ripped itself to shreds, which Im also thinking caused the water pump to not work and let my car overheat.
This is the alternator "belt", whoever owned this car before had actually just used a shitty wire, no wonder it broke. There is also a hole in a little plastic piece for the radiator cap that connects two hoses that has a huge hole in it, which would explain my loss of coolant.

Was behind a vehicle today that was misfiring on one cylinder and smelled like shit. Plus the rear tire was canted 10° like a bad stance nation. Only one tire.
The make and model? You guessed it: late 90s Buick LeSabre
Ahhhhhh .
I forgot to lock the hood after checking a sound. RIP windshield, hood and fenders.
People saw.
Do I fix the 33k mile deville and have a really factory fresh car that could last me like 3 years or so or do I just part it out and make potentially up to 2k?
So spend 3ish k or make 2 ish k......
It would be a great vehicle if I convert the front seats to captins.

Can see why, my 2002 has critical brake issues and had one tire 20psi under what it was supposed to be. You don't feel shit in these cars.
