All these different names confuse me. But I won't reply any more, I've just been curious at why you guys wear so much padding compared to us Aussies who wear none at all.
Because the injury types are completely different. In one you have simple pulling and tugging injuries such as dislocated joints and broken collar bones. In the other, you are basically getting hit by a truck every few minutes.
If you have actually played real football (As in professional refs and all the equipment) you get hit pretty hard. As a guy that gets hit EVERY play, (Defensive Tackle/Noseguard.) I would be injured every play. Also, OP you don't have Noseguard on the positions (Yes I know that it all depends if you run a 3-4 or a 4-3) ALSO, This year we are going to get the rings. And is it just me or does ESPN hate us or something becuase they are always downplaying us. "Well, the Falcons are OKAY, but Drew Brees is AMAZING, (Since he is like what 2nd in interceptions?)
Anyway ~colts 4 lyfe~
Not really, we are men here in Australia. Padding just takes all the fun out of it
Shut the fuck up, I lived in Australia for three years, Rugby's hits aren't nearly as brutal. If you got hit by an American Football player without pads, you'd get fucked up compared to taking a regular Rugby hit.
You know what really sucked this year? Living in Denver. :smith:
Jaguars are only 15 years old, but they've been to the semi-final (Game that decides who goes to the Super Bowl) twice already. Lost both times to the patriots. WHO ELSE REMEMBERS PATRIOTS 18-1 SEASON'S SUPER BOWL LOSS TO THE GIANTS. HAHAHAHA
I'm rooting for the Ravens this year.
I'm rooting for the Ravens this year.
For the playoffs, I'm going to have to go with the Ravens as well.
New England Patriots represent. They have been absolutely kicking ass lately.

suck itttt

If you got hit by an American Football player without pads, you'd get fucked up compared to taking a regular Rugby hit.
Also, let me sperg more. When I played rugby back in Australia, the hits weren't actual fucking hits, they were just hugs that bring you to the floor. Theres big hits occasionally, but, the biggest hits I've seen in professional rugby equate to your standard American Football tackle.
I played football without pads with my dad. He got me square in the collarbone and it hurt like fuck because I was never a lineback and I didn't know what to do. :saddowns:
These hits are brutal!
Because in football you get shit like this - and that's WITH padding: (Not for the faint of heart, even though it's just CGI)
This really does happen, but most of those injuries are a bit exaggerated. But every single ones of those injuries DOES happen, even with pads.

They only beat the Colts by a field goal and we had 2nd and 3rd string players playing...
Is there any video instructions of how the game is played, if so I might be interested in watching a game or 2.
This is why you wear pads in American Football [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZnLEGJaiU&fmt=22[/hd]

2010 sounds of the year for NFL
Suger Bowl is on. Arkansas Razorbacks Vs. Ohio Buckeyes
Cowboys fan here. They're not very good and I'm not a HUGE football nut, but I've been a Cowboys fan ever since I was little, so I'm sticking to it. I also like the Vikings, Saints, and Steelers though. I'll root for them now and again.
These hits are brutal!
3:00 Personal foul, helmet to helmet. Why do people do stupid shit like this? [editline]4th January 2011[/editline]
Is there any video instructions of how the game is played, if so I might be interested in watching a game or 2.
It's fairly simple to understand, hard to master. Read some of the OP, watch some football games, ask your Pops if he likes football.
I hope the Florida Gators have a better year in 2011. :( These days are far behind us. Easily one of the best highlight videos around though. The 08 team was easily the fastest team in the NCAA.
