To clear things out a little bit more, the American's did the Potsdam Declaration. It basically demanded that Japan must surrender unconditionally (?), it was basically an ultimatum but the Japanese cabinet did not take this as serious as it should have.
One of the Japanese ministers issued a statement in response.. 'Mokusatsu' which meant 'To ignore' or to 'treat with silence'. Once the U.S. got word of this, the government had assumed the other meaning of the word which means To kill silently. Truman thought that the Japanese would want to continue to war by the issuance of 'Mokusatsu'.
and what if it shoots the cancer off and nothing else? although I do agree, thats a pretty stupid idea.
His comparison was pretty accurate. Considering terrorist groups use populated areas as bases, the only way to nuke them would be nuking a city or town full of innocent civilians. And considering they have bases all across the Afghanistan, the U.S would have to nuke nearly all of Afghanistan (Which they obviously can't and shouldn't do)
Einstein initiated the Manhattan Project. After hearing news about the two atomic bombs being detonated over enemy territory he really regretted what he did during the early years of the war about warning Roosevelt. He basically believed that the Germans were also in the works of developing Atomic Weapons. Einstein believed that was the biggest mistake he made in his career.
'War sucks , people die' - Silly way of looking at things. War does not need to happen. Peace can be achieved through many ways, people just need to SHARE and THINK.
Oh look at the two unfunny dickheads above me. Don't give up your day job fellas
Do you know how we went to war with Japan?
Oh yea, they killed 3000 Americans in a surprise attack on a little place called Pearl Harbor.

You know that the 100,000 who died were mostly civilian, right?
Do you believe that if your army does something terrible you should be held accountable?

The Japanese killed hundreds of thousands of Civilians you know.
Their militaristic culture means that everybody was a combatant.
If we invaded Japan, the civilians would have resisted us.

And who killed those hundreds of thousands of civilians? The Japanese Military. Not their civilians, their military.
Do you honestly believe that every single person in Japan wanted to continue the war?
itt: americans supporting mass murder

Again, you all are crying, bitching and whining over shit that happened a long time ago. What the hell are you guys gonna do about it?

So it doesn't matter because it happened a long time ago?
I say in the end we're all horrible people when we put together our sins...
You know, it was just the other day I was making paper cranes in Japanese. Apparently our school was going to send 1000 to either Hiroshima or Nagasaki. 1000 Paper cranes won't give you a wish, but it sure looks neat to have a thousand in one spot.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean? You're all debating whether it was justified or not. Who the hell cares, it already happened.

There are quite a few families in the two cities that had victims of the bombing in their family tree. Many survivors and a generation had to endure a series of radiation poisoning and cancer because of the bomb.
Why would you not care that an A-bomb was used to annihilate a population in a city and hastened the end of a war? Does this mean we should use the nukes we have to end the current wars we are fighting?
Many people observe the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as a reminder of what Atomic and Nuclear weaponry are capable of doing to people and cities. That is one of many reasons why every nation that possess a Nuclear warhead will never launch one because they will know the effects it would have on their own cities and people via M.A.D. The fact that you do not seem to care about the bombings makes you an apathetic person.
Big bada-boom

I never said we should nuke other cities. I'm simply saying some of you are getting all pissy at one another about this subject and neither parties can do a damn thing about it and it shouldn't be argued in the first place.
