No, but if he is perfect, he would have make his children follow his way, not telling them to choose bad sin.
Oh, and ''Abstain from blood'', does it really mean ''No blood transfusion''? Bible was written WAY before this was invented. Maybe does it just mean do not be driven into madness by blood. Because blood can be a metaphorical way to tell us about the money, which kills us from inside. And some are ready to take the blood of other (A.K.A. Kill them) for money.
I do to a degree agree with you on this, however "Abstain from blood" is pretty straight forward.
Yeah, sounds like it means don't spill blood through violence, which sounds like a much better rule anyway.
Well, no. It's not. We're talking about religion, everything has a hidden meaning, nothing is given straight foward.

No they where two seperate laws, Abstain from blood has also been mentioned other times through out the bible, such as where it says you should por all blood into the ground. etc.

Again I agree with you, but usually the hidden means are a bit more obvious.
Like ''You shall not kill''.
I'm sorry but it would be better ''You shall not kill, unless you are treathened to death with a knife, or that you REALLY need to eat and there's a deer just there, OR ... Etc.''
The bible is more a spiritual book than something to be taken litteraly.

Yes but that's a bit more obvious as to what it meant, plus other scriptures explained it in more detail.
Any way I will continue this tomorrow, I'm tired.
Good night. Was fun speaking with you.
Well it's not like any of it actually matters, I don't need a fairy tale book written by old guys 2000 years ago to tell me how to live my life, I can be a good person because I am, and not because I believe I will spend eternity in hell, because I would be dead, you can't be torchered in hell if your are dead, enough with this nonsense, we have science now.
Well, that's what i meant. I suck in english :saddowns: I'm french.
I'm very sorry to hear that...
five-year-old jepheth afum was brought to a hospital in ghana last week. Doctors found that he was anemic and losing blood quickly.
They knew the only way to save him was to give him a blood transfusion, so they began the procedure. And what did his father do during all this?
….wait! Before you respond, i should tell you his parents are jehovah’s witnesses. And jws forbid blood transfusions…
[father] kwabena afum and some members of jehovah witnesses besieged the theatre room in a bid to prevent them from carrying out their professional duties.
The police, upon hearing the story, rushed to the place to restore law and order and arrested the boy’s father in the process.
The father wanted to see his son die than for him to get a blood transfusion.
But the story gets even worse.
The boy got better.
So his father disowned him.
The son is “currently in the care of the social welfare department in the district.”
ugh.
This is almost as bad as radical islamic fathers whose daughters get raped and, in response, they perform an “honor killing” on the girl.
What is it that we hear religion is all about again? Love?
Yep. That’s it. Love.
Right…

fucking shit is wrong with people!

Word
Puberty + religion = damn hard to resist the urge.
Sex is above everything.
You need sex to survive as a species, you don't need religion to limit yourself.
If it teaches people self-control, I believe it's worth it even though I disagree with the extreme measures.
Sex is evil have sex and god will smite you
Its a natural thing everyone does.
I don't.
People got married alot sooner in those days, and you were mated for life. Those rules from the Bible seem to be more of a "Don't waste your sperm, have sex with your wife" measure. These days people don't get married until around their 30's on average (Western society). It's a little late to learn, as you know what they say about dogs and new tricks...
I don't fap at all. Sometimes I was thinking about doing this, but it's against my morality.
I do to a degree agree with you on this, however "Abstain from blood" is pretty straight forward.
I wouldn't say so.
@Plam - From what I've heard, the ancient Greeks were performing blood transfusions, so it wasn't unheard of I'm sure.
Abstaining from blood could in fact pertain to consumption as opposed to medical - ensuring safe culinary practise, bleeding animals correctly and ensuring they are thoroughly cooked. Just generally not eating blood.
tbh I think to "abstain" from is pretty vague...

More on topic and in response to OP's first post, I was brought up a jehovah's Witness, the sexism always annoyed me in little ways - things that kids think about, like not wearing trousers - "a woman must dress like a woman", and that women didn't get to do 'big' talks over the platform because the bible says a woman is "not qualified to teach" etc.
but yeah, the uh, 'playful' side that emerges as you get older... I think it's really important to be allowed to explore and understand yourself physically and emotionally, and cutting away what comes naturally - I really don't think it's right, or helps anything.
I'm glad I've managed to get out of that crap pretty early.
I find it hard to think that I actually ever remotely believed any of the rubbish they teach, alot of which is supported with guilt and fear for some people. But I was young.
See, I have a theory. Religious leaders are sworn to celibacy in many religions, so they're bitter old bastards. They decided that if they couldn't be happy, nobody else should be happy either. Hence these retarded religious rules that all those morons follow without question.
The first time he has sex he'll last five seconds. It'll be hilarious.
Im not having sex until I am married mostly for moral purposes. it MEANS more and it is a symbol of love when you wait to give it up to the person you MARRY!
but then my religion would like it me to be married anyway so yeah... Im good.

thats not a very well thought out theory.
Jehova's Witnesses is one of those groups sucking money out of stupid people, not a religion
At least his religion has something right.
Most religious fanatics make me mad though.
Okay, to clear things up...
Religion is there to give you a moral code. Religion is not there to make you miserable, or kill your daughters, or force your son not to have a blood transfusion.
These zealots who punish or kill themselves because they follow everything they interpret from their religion, let them, it's what they want to do. However, the ones who have to force things on other people, are extremely dangerous, and should be treated as such.
That said, OP: Having sex a few times a week is healthy for you, however, having sex with different people a few times a week, will get probably get you any number of STD, religion recognizes this. Having sex alot, isn't as harmful as having sex with alot of different people.
The way I interpret it, it's saying, "Don't have sex with people you wouldn't marry.".
Maybe the rules of sex were invented 2,000 years ago because they didn't have contraception. So they only wanted people to have children with the people they love. Now we have condoms and the pill and abortions so why the hell cant we have sex!

Sex has nothing to do with love, kid. It can be an expression of love, but first and foremost, it's simply scratching an itch. Fulfilling the biological imperative. Pleasure, nothing more. Don't be too stubborn in your views: Keep an open mind and you'll be fine. I promise you this, though: Stay a virgin until you're married and you'll be divorced within a month or two.
