Parking like this is common in the UK you should see what it's like here people just abandon their cars half the time, seems same in lots of places.

There's a stretch of road in Cyprus along the beach, cant remember its name, but the first time we went to Cyprus our friends told us not to park on the city side as there's a gang that will smash your cars windows. I lol'd at the thought of that.
