ALst one is Zep... IV?
Must be NIN. My brother got to see them live and I didn't :argh: and now they've stopped touring. It's a shame, really. Trent Reznor is a musical genius.

Tosin Abasi from Animals As Leaders, Meshuggah, Gojira, Algernon Cadwallader (http://www.myspace.com/algernoncadwallader), Misha Mansoor/Periphery (http://www.myspace.com/iambulb), Andy McKee, Sigur Rós, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and a bunch of others.
I like his Prelude in C# minor and Elegie in Eb minor is possibly my favourite piece of music ever
Heh, everyone loves that prelude 'cept Rachmaninov. He actually refered to the piece as "it" because people wanted him to play it so much. I'm learning the prelude, it's actually pretty simple up until the end.
Kill Hannah, Wolves In The Throne Room, Solar Fields, Daft Punk, Bring Me The Horizon, Escape The Fate. [editline]09:44PM[/editline] Oh and some 30 Seconds to Mars songs too. From Yesterday, Attack especially.
Prolly gonna get some shit for this one (since a lot of people hate them), but TDWP has blown my mind every time I've seen them live. There's just something about their music that hits a nerve in me. It's not the most complex or unique music in the world, but there isn't a rule stating that music has to be difficult to play in order to be good. I leave their shows with my jaw sliding around on the ground.
The first time I heard them (5 or 6 years ago), Nightwish blew my mind. Nemo was the best song I had ever heard at the time, and remains one of my favourites. It got me into metal. Nevermore have also made me go '...wow' with their cover of The Sound Of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel. Such a transformation from the original, that adds a darker twist and a more sinister meaning to the lyrics. Summoning are worthy of a mention, for playing the kind of music that makes you want to visit that far away magical land, while managing to not be cheesy power metal. Black Pyramid's self-titled release was also amazing. The riffs were some of the best I've ever heard, and will haunt me for a long time.
Alter Bridge, Andy McKee and Breaking Benjamin. Oh, and Shinedown's album 'The Sound of Madness'
When i first heard this album , i actually had to sit back and think about what id just heard. i was pretty amazed by it :P [editline]10:59PM[/editline]
Alter Bridge, Andy McKee and Breaking Benjamin. The Beatles. Jets To Brazil. Angels and Airwaves. Joe Satriani.
Was the first thing I heard by him so it has a simple sentimentality now he's one of my favourite composers :ghost:
You should check out Alexander Scriabin (his early works are alot like Rachmaninov, if you don't like atonal music though I'd stay away from his later stuff).
Nine Inch Nails The Fragile Nuff said.
Nine Inch Nails The Fragile Nuff said.
100% ditto. Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, etc..
Anton Webern also really wows me. Especially this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65vziq32P5I
Björk John Coltrane Eric Satie
Iron Maiden And Dragonforce... 14 year old me: Wow this stuff's really fast it's awsome! present day me: Wow this shit's fucking corny as fuck...
When i heard the REAL Beatles songs. None of that Let it Be, Hey Jude bullshit. [editline]05:14PM[/editline] Of course this was a long time ago.
Amorphis' album Eclipse as well as Skyforger blew my mind. Eluveitie - Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion likewise, and Sybreed - Antares. They all have a unique sound that I haven't seen to that standard anywhere else.
