Cannabis does not remove you from your problems, it allows you to think about them from a different perspective. The only problem weed helps me "escape" from is boredom. Though people usually don't smoke when they have problems; that's a misconception.
Everyone who has never tried drugs has much to learn from an altered state of consciousness. It seems you haven't tried it, so why are you so passionate about the issue?

It's not addictive in a sense like nicotine is. You aren't FORCED to do it. It's just people ENJOY doing it.

Same with shisha (hookah), it has hardly any nicotine in it so you don't get addicted, but me and my cousin were going everyday to smoke it because it was just so damn nice and we could just chat.

So yeah, it's not physically addicting, it's more of a "I like it so I'll do it" addiction. I'm sure if you stopped any stoner from smoking (apart from the ones that use tobacco in their joints), they wouldn't become depressed or aggressive or stressed out. They'd just miss it.

Ketamine has nothing to do with either; it is a dissociative. Basically produces a feeling of detachment.
