I just finished Stardust Crusaders. I actually cried when [sp]Avodol and Iggy's spirits passed on[/sp] Time to start Diamond is Unbreakable!
And that's part 7 done. Dojyaaan [sp]but then suddenly Za Warudo[/sp]
Been listening to the JoJo Playlist on Spotify while drawing and man that is some good music to draw by. I imagine Araki has a similar playlist for when he's working
And that's part 7 done. Dojyaaan [sp]but then suddenly Za Warudo[/sp]
How did you think SBR compares to previous parts? Interested to hear from someone that has a fresh take on it.
SBR has a huge Jules Vern novel feeling to it
I started reading SBR today and it's absolutely amazing. [sp]But I skipped Stone Ocean, I fell asleep after a chapter or two[/sp] [sp]Yeah I know, no dignity etc[/sp]

Stone Ocean is one of the more boring parts in terms of setting, but it has some of the coolest stands in the whole series and a seriously great finale.
Who skips a part only after a few chapters, didn't even give it a chance man
Yeah I know, I just couldn't bring myself to read it yet. Maybe it was the wonky scans and translations, maybe it was the tired old plot of "some bad shit's going down because Dio was an asshole", but I needed a breath of fresh air and SBR is scratching that itch for now. I'll definitely read it before starting Jojolion, though.
The wonky scans and translations are definitely a huge turn-off, but will definitely pay off at the ending.
part 6 was my favorite :s:
Man, I just remembered the first time I saw jojo material (other than roadarolla references), and it was fuckin weird- it was on some "funny memes" app for the itouch where it would share pics stolen from memesites (because I was a lonely guy without friends), and one of the pictures that came up was someone's AU where little tyke Joseph is asking a Jonathan bodied DIO "what body!grandpa's job was," with the last panel being a fuming DIO as Joseph told his class about his "Awesome archaeology job his grandpa has". It was strange and confused me about the plot of the actual jojos when I started hearing more about it. ...so what was y'alls first time you saw Jojo shit?
But stone ocean probably has the best scans out there, on account that it's got fully colored shit online from beginning to end and it's all translated I don't think the translations are any more wonky than the least wonky stuff, either.
I caved to the hype and stayed watching this. A few episodes in and it's pretty ok.
I caved to the hype and stayed watching this. A few episodes in and it's pretty ok.
Get to episode 10 at least if you aren't super enjoying it. Part 1 (Episodes 1-9) are a bit underwhelming but Part 2 is amazing right off the bat.
How did you think SBR compares to previous parts? Interested to hear from someone that has a fresh take on it.
At first I didn't like the premise of a race, read 5 or so chapters and dropped it. But after I threw away my prejudice everything was fine. Even if a new universe, it was still a bizarre adventure.
Why the hell wouldn't you like the premise of a race across America in the late 19th Century
Part 5 was boring af was stand of the week shit like with part 3 but worse it felt like
Part 5 was boring af was stand of the week shit like with part 3 but worse it felt like
Grateful Dead/Beach Boys is one of the best fights in the series though
Wooo!
Grateful Dead/Beach Boys is one of the best fights in the series though
There were still some pretty good stands but eh a lot of the time it just felt dragged on like with Stardust Metallica was goodddd thou also shit translations dont help much at all so i might re read when theres decent translations for the entire thing

It was better than SDC on virtue of just having better stands
Giorno Giovanna is the most bland JoJo, this is undeniable.
Giorno Giovanna is the most bland JoJo, this is undeniable.
I'd say that goes to Jonathan, most of Giorno's personality is lost in the bad translation.
I'd say that goes to Jonathan, most of Giorno's personality is lost in the bad translation.
The bad translation doesn't stop him from having no facial expressions the entire manga.
And they just kind of forget that there's a chance he could be immortal?
I wonder if Giorno being dull/unexpressive was intentional- [Sp]Like father like son, after all. Seriously though, I wonder if that was a dig at Johnathan being the most dull of all the protag, and that Giorno took after this. Would make sense, considering his regret at writing Johnathan that way and what he did to him in part 7.[/sp]
guys whats your favorite stand ship my favorite is killer queen x king crimson
